¹¹ Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of Jehovah.

¹² What man is he that desireth life, And loveth many days, that he may see good?

¹³ Keep thy tongue from evil, And thy lips from speaking guile.

¹⁴ Depart from evil, and do good; Seek peace, and pursue it.

¹⁵ The eyes of Jehovah are toward the righteous, And his ears are open unto their cry.

¹⁶ The face of Jehovah is against them that do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

¹⁷ The righteous cried, and Jehovah heard, And delivered them out of all their troubles.

¹⁸ Jehovah is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart, And saveth such as are of a contrite spirit.

¹¹ Unjust witnesses arose, and asked me of things I knew not.

¹² They rewarded me evil for good, and bereavement to my soul.

¹³ But I, when they troubled me, put on sackcloth, and humbled my soul with fasting: and my prayer shall return to my own bosom.

¹⁴ I behaved agreeably towards them as if it had been our neighbour or brother: I humbled myself as one mourning and sad of countenance.

¹⁵ Yet they rejoiced against me, and plagues were plentifully brought against me, and I knew it not: they were scattered, but repented not.

¹⁶ They tempted me, they sneered at me most contemptuously, they gnashed their teeth upon me.

¹⁷ O Lord, when wilt thou look upon me? Deliver my soul from their mischief, mine only-begotten one from the lions.

¹⁸ I will give thanks to thee even in a great congregation: in an abundant people I will praise thee.

¹² If RHQ any of you wants to enjoy life and have a good long life,

¹³ do not say anythoing that is evil! Do not tell lies!

¹⁴ Turn away from doing evil, and do what is good! Always try hard to enable people to live peacefully with each other.

¹⁵ Yahweh MTY carefully watches over those who act righteously; he always responds MTY to them when they call to him for help.

¹⁶ But Yahweh SYN ◄is opposed to/turns away from► those who do what is evil. And after they die, people will forget them completely.

¹⁷ Yahweh hears righteous people when they call out to him; he rescues them from all their troubles.

¹⁸ Yahweh is always ready to help those who are discouraged; he rescues those who have nothing good to hope for.

¹² What man has a love of life, and a desire that his days may be increased so that he may see good?

¹³ Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from words of deceit.

¹⁴ Be turned from evil, and do good; make a search for peace, desiring it with all your heart.

¹⁵ The eyes of the Lord are on the upright, and his ears are open to their cry.

¹⁶ The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to take away the memory of them from the earth.

¹⁷ The cry of the upright comes before the Lord, and he takes them out of all their troubles.

¹⁸ The Lord is near the broken-hearted; he is the saviour of those whose spirits are crushed down.

¹¹ Come, ye sons, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of Jehovah.

¹⁸ Jehovah is nigh to those that are of a broken heart, and saveth them that are of a contrite spirit.

¹¹ Unjust witnesses rising up have asked me things I knew not.

¹² They repaid me evil for good: to the depriving me of my soul.

¹³ But as for me, when they were troublesome to me, I was clothed with haircloth. I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer shall be turned into my bosom.

¹⁴ As a neighbour and as an own brother, so did I please: as one mourning and sorrowful so was I humbled.

¹⁵ But they rejoiced against me, and came together: scourges were gathered together upon me, and I knew not.

¹⁶ They were separated, and repented not: they tempted me, they scoffed at me with scorn: they gnashed upon me with their teeth.

¹⁷ Lord, when wilt thou look upon me? rescue thou soul from their malice: my only one from the lions.

¹⁸ I will give thanks to thee in a great church; I will praise thee in a strong people.

¹¹ Children, listen to me! I will teach you how to respect the Lord.

¹² Who of you wants to live a long and happy life?

¹³ Then don't let your tongue speak evil, or your lips tell lies.

¹⁴ Reject what is evil, do what is good. Look for peace, and work to make it a reality.

¹⁵ The Lord watches over those who do right, and he hears when they cry for help.

¹⁶ The Lord sets himself against those who do evil. He will wipe out even the memory of them from the earth.

¹⁷ But when his people call out for help, he hears them and rescues them from all their troubles.

¹⁸ The Lord is close beside those who are broken-hearted; he saves those whose spirits are crushed.

¹¹ Come children, hearken vnto me: I will teache you the feare of the Lord.

¹² What man is he, that desireth life, and loueth long dayes for to see good?

¹³ Keepe thy tongue from euill, and thy lips, that they speake no guile.

¹⁴ Eschewe euill and doe good: seeke peace and follow after it.

¹⁵ The eyes of the Lord are vpon the righteous, and his eares are open vnto their crie.

¹⁶ But the face of the Lord is against them that doe euill, to cut off their remembrance from the earth.

¹⁷ The righteous crie, and the Lord heareth them, and deliuereth them out of all their troubles.

¹⁸ The Lord is neere vnto them that are of a contrite heart, and will saue such as be afflicted in Spirite.

¹⁵ (34:16) The eyes of the Lord are directed unto the righteous, and his ears unto their cry.

¹⁶ (34:17) But the anger of the Lord is against those that do evil, to cut off from the earth their remembrance.

¹⁷ (34:18) Those cry, and the Lord heareth, and from all their distresses he delivereth them.

¹⁸ (34:19) The Lord is nigh unto those that are broken-hearted: and he saveth those that are of a contrite spirit.

¹² Who of you takes pleasure in living? Who 'ahav ·affectionately loves· a long life to see good things?

¹³ If you do, keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from deceiving talk;

¹⁴ turn from evil, and do good. Seek peace, and fervently pursue it!

¹⁵ For Adonai ’s eyes are toward the upright. His ears listen to their prayers.

¹⁶ But Adonai ’s face is against those who do evil, to cut off their memory from the earth.

¹⁷ The upright cry, and Adonai sh'ma ·hears obeys·, and delivers them out of all their troubles.

¹⁸ Adonai is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

¹¹ Come, sons, listen to me. I will teach you the fear of Yahweh.

¹³ Then keep your tongue from evil and keep your lips from speaking lies.

¹⁷ The righteous cry out and Yahweh hears and he rescues them from all their troubles.

¹⁸ Yahweh is close to the brokenhearted, and he saves those who are crushed in spirit.

¹⁵ The eyes of the Lord be on just or rightwise men; and his ears be to their prayers.

¹⁶ But the cheer of the Lord is on men doing evils; that he lose the mind the memory of them from the earth.

¹⁷ Just or rightwise men cried, and the Lord heard them; and delivered them from all their tribulations.

¹⁸ The Lord is nigh to them that be of troubled heart; and he shall save meek men in spirit.

¹¹ Come, ye sons, hear ye me; I shall teach you the dread of the Lord. (Come, ye sons and daughters, and listen ye to me; I shall teach you the fear of the Lord or I shall teach you to revere the Lord.)

¹² Who is the man, that willeth life; that loveth to see good days? (Who is the person who desireth life? who loveth to see good days?)

¹³ Forbid thy tongue from evil; and thy lips speak not guile (or and do not let thy lips speak deceitfully).

¹⁴ Turn thou away from evil, and do good; seek thou peace, and perfectly follow thou it.

¹⁵ The eyes of the Lord be on just men (or The eyes of the Lord be on the righteous); and his ears be to their prayers.

¹⁶ But the cheer of the Lord is on men doing evils; that he lose the mind of them from the earth. (But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil; and he shall blot out the memory of them from off the earth.)

¹⁷ Just men cried or The rightwise cried, and the Lord heard them; and delivered them from all their tribulations (or and he rescued, or saved, them from all their troubles).

¹⁸ The Lord is nigh to them that be of troubled heart; and he shall save meek men in spirit. (The Lord is near to those who have a troubled heart; and he saveth those whose spirit is meek, or is humble.)
