¹ A Psalm of David; when he changed his behavior before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed. I will bless Jehovah at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

² My soul shall make her boast in Jehovah: The meek shall hear thereof, and be glad.

³ Oh magnify Jehovah with me, And let us exalt his name together.

⁴ I sought Jehovah, and he answered me, And delivered me from all my fears.

⁵ They looked unto him, and were radiant; And their faces shall never be confounded.

⁶ This poor man cried, and Jehovah heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles.

⁷ The angel of Jehovah encampeth round about them that fear him, And delivereth them.

⁸ Oh taste and see that Jehovah is good: Blessed is the man that taketh refuge in him.

⁹ Oh fear Jehovah, ye his saints; For there is no want to them that fear him.

¹⁰ The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger; But they that seek Jehovah shall not want any good thing.

¹¹ Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of Jehovah.

¹² What man is he that desireth life, And loveth many days, that he may see good?

¹³ Keep thy tongue from evil, And thy lips from speaking guile.

¹⁴ Depart from evil, and do good; Seek peace, and pursue it.

¹⁵ The eyes of Jehovah are toward the righteous, And his ears are open unto their cry.

¹⁶ The face of Jehovah is against them that do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

² Take hold of shield and buckler, and arise for my help.

³ Bring forth a sword, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say to my soul, I am thy salvation.

⁴ Let them that seek my soul be ashamed and confounded: let them that devise evils against me be turned back and put to shame.

⁵ Let them be as dust before the wind, and an angel of the Lord afflicting them.

⁶ Let their way be dark and slippery, and an angel of the Lord persecuting them.

⁷ For without cause they have hid for me their destructive snare: without a cause they have reproached my soul.

⁸ Let a snare which they know not come upon them: and the gin which they hid take them; and let them fall into the very same snare.

⁹ But my soul shall exult in the Lord: it shall delight in his salvation.

¹⁰ All my bones shall say, O Lord, who is like to thee? delivering the poor out of the hand of them that are stronger than he, yea, the poor and needy one from them that spoil him.

¹¹ Unjust witnesses arose, and asked me of things I knew not.

¹² They rewarded me evil for good, and bereavement to my soul.

¹³ But I, when they troubled me, put on sackcloth, and humbled my soul with fasting: and my prayer shall return to my own bosom.

¹⁴ I behaved agreeably towards them as if it had been our neighbour or brother: I humbled myself as one mourning and sad of countenance.

¹⁵ Yet they rejoiced against me, and plagues were plentifully brought against me, and I knew it not: they were scattered, but repented not.

¹⁶ They tempted me, they sneered at me most contemptuously, they gnashed their teeth upon me.

¹ I will always thank Yahweh; I will constantly praise him MTY.

² I will boast about what Yahweh has done. All those who are oppressed/discouraged should hear me and rejoice.

³ Join with me in telling others that Yahweh is great! You and I should together proclaim how glorious he is!

⁴ I prayed to Yahweh, and he ◄answered my prayer/did what I asked him to do►; he rescued me from all those who caused me to be afraid.

⁵ Those who trust IDM that he will help them will be joyful; ◄they will never be disappointed/he will always do for them the things that he promises► LIT.

⁶ I was miserable/helpless, but I called out to Yahweh, and he heard me. He rescued me from all my troubles.

⁷ An angel from Yahweh guards those who revere him, and the angel rescues them.

⁸ Find out for yourself, and you will experience that Yahweh is good to you! He is very pleased with those who ask him to protect them.

⁹ All you who belong to him, revere him! Those who do that will always have the things that they need LIT.

¹⁰ Lions are usually very strong, but sometimes even young lions are hungry and become weak, but those who trust in Yahweh will ◄have everything/not lack any good thing► LIT that they need.

¹¹ You ◄who are my students/whom I teach►, come and listen to me, and I will teach you how to revere Yahweh.

¹² If RHQ any of you wants to enjoy life and have a good long life,

¹³ do not say anythoing that is evil! Do not tell lies!

¹⁴ Turn away from doing evil, and do what is good! Always try hard to enable people to live peacefully with each other.

¹⁵ Yahweh MTY carefully watches over those who act righteously; he always responds MTY to them when they call to him for help.

¹⁶ But Yahweh SYN ◄is opposed to/turns away from► those who do what is evil. And after they die, people will forget them completely.

¹ Of David. When he made a change in his behaviour before Abimelech, who sent him away, and he went. I will be blessing the Lord at all times; his praise will be ever in my mouth.

² My soul will say great things of the Lord: the poor in spirit will have knowledge of it and be glad.

³ O give praise to the Lord with me; let us be witnesses together of his great name.

⁴ I was searching for the Lord, and he gave ear to my voice, and made me free from all my fears.

⁵ Let your eyes be turned to him and you will have light, and your faces will not be shamed.

⁶ This poor man's cry came before the Lord, and he gave him salvation from all his troubles.

⁷ The angel of the Lord is ever watching over those who have fear of him, to keep them safe.

⁸ By experience you will see that the Lord is good; happy is the man who has faith in him.

⁹ Keep yourselves in the fear of the Lord, all you his saints; for those who do so will have no need of anything.

¹⁰ The young lions are in need and have no food; but those who are looking to the Lord will have every good thing.

¹¹ Come, children, give attention to me; I will be your teacher in the fear of the Lord.

¹² What man has a love of life, and a desire that his days may be increased so that he may see good?

¹³ Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from words of deceit.

¹⁴ Be turned from evil, and do good; make a search for peace, desiring it with all your heart.

¹⁵ The eyes of the Lord are on the upright, and his ears are open to their cry.

¹⁶ The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to take away the memory of them from the earth.

¹² What man is he that desireth life, and loveth days, that he may see good?

¹⁴ Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

¹⁵ The eyes of Jehovah are upon the righteous, and his ears are toward their cry;

¹⁶ The face of Jehovah is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth:

¹ For David himself. Judge thou, O Lord, them that wrong me: overthrow them that fight against me.

² Take hold of arms and shield: and rise up to help me.

³ Bring out the sword, and shut up the way against them that persecute me: say to my soul: I am thy salvation.

⁴ Let them be confounded and ashamed that seek after my soul. Let them be turned back and be confounded that devise against me.

⁵ Let them become as dust before the wind: and let the angel of the Lord straiten them.

⁶ Let their way become dark and slippery; and let the angel of the Lord pursue them.

⁷ For without cause they have hidden their net for me unto destruction: without cause they have upbraided my soul.

⁸ Let the snare which he knoweth not come upon him: and let the net which he hath hidden catch him: and let the net which he hath hidden catch him: and into that very snare let them fall.

⁹ But my soul shall rejoice in the Lord; and shall be delighted in his salvation.

¹⁰ All my bones shall say: Lord, who is like to thee? Who deliverest the poor from the hand of them that are stronger than he; the needy and the poor from them that strip him.

¹¹ Unjust witnesses rising up have asked me things I knew not.

¹² They repaid me evil for good: to the depriving me of my soul.

¹³ But as for me, when they were troublesome to me, I was clothed with haircloth. I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer shall be turned into my bosom.

¹⁴ As a neighbour and as an own brother, so did I please: as one mourning and sorrowful so was I humbled.

¹⁵ But they rejoiced against me, and came together: scourges were gathered together upon me, and I knew not.

¹⁶ They were separated, and repented not: they tempted me, they scoffed at me with scorn: they gnashed upon me with their teeth.

¹ A psalm of David concerning the time he pretended to be mad in front of Abimelech who then sent him away. I will always bless the Lord; my mouth will continually praise him.

² From the bottom of my heart I am proud of the Lord; those who are humble will hear and be happy.

³ Glorify God with me; together let's honor his reputation.

⁴ I asked the Lord for help, and he answered me. He set me free from all my fears.

⁵ The faces of those who look to him will shine with joy; they will never be downcast with shame.

⁶ This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard me, and saved me from all my troubles.

⁷ The angel of the Lord stands guard over all those who honor him, keeping them safe.

⁸ Taste, and you will see that the Lord is good! How happy are those who trust in his protection!

⁹ Show your reverence for the Lord, you who are his holy people, for those who respect him have everything they need.

¹⁰ Lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who trust in the Lord have all that is good.

¹¹ Children, listen to me! I will teach you how to respect the Lord.

¹² Who of you wants to live a long and happy life?

¹³ Then don't let your tongue speak evil, or your lips tell lies.

¹⁴ Reject what is evil, do what is good. Look for peace, and work to make it a reality.

¹⁵ The Lord watches over those who do right, and he hears when they cry for help.

¹⁶ The Lord sets himself against those who do evil. He will wipe out even the memory of them from the earth.

¹ A Psalme of Dauid, when he changed his behauiour before Abimelech, who droue him away, and he departed. I will alway giue thankes vnto the Lord: his praise shalbe in my mouth continually.

² My soule shall glory in the Lord: the humble shall heare it, and be glad.

⁵ They shall looke vnto him, and runne to him: and their faces shall not be ashamed, saying,

⁸ Taste ye and see, howe gratious the Lord is: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

⁹ Feare the Lord, ye his Saintes: for nothing wanteth to them that feare him.

¹⁰ The lyons doe lacke and suffer hunger, but they, which seeke the Lord, shall want nothing that is good.

¹¹ Come children, hearken vnto me: I will teache you the feare of the Lord.

¹² What man is he, that desireth life, and loueth long dayes for to see good?

¹³ Keepe thy tongue from euill, and thy lips, that they speake no guile.

¹⁴ Eschewe euill and doe good: seeke peace and follow after it.

¹⁵ The eyes of the Lord are vpon the righteous, and his eares are open vnto their crie.

¹⁶ But the face of the Lord is against them that doe euill, to cut off their remembrance from the earth.

¹⁰ (כ) The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: But they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.

¹ “By David, when he disguised his reason before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed.” (34:2) I will bless the Lord at all times: continually shall his praise be in my mouth.
