¹⁴ From the place of his habitation he looketh forth Upon all the inhabitants of the earth,

¹⁵ He that fashioneth the hearts of them all, That considereth all their works.

¹⁶ There is no king saved by the multitude of a host: A mighty man is not delivered by great strength.

¹⁷ A horse is a vain thing for safety; Neither doth he deliver any by his great power.

¹⁸ Behold, the eye of Jehovah is upon them that fear him, Upon them that hope in his lovingkindness;

¹⁹ To deliver their soul from death, And to keep them alive in famine.

²⁰ Our soul hath waited for Jehovah: He is our help and our shield.

²¹ For our heart shall rejoice in him, Because we have trusted in his holy name.

²² Let thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah, be upon us, According as we have hoped in thee.

¹⁴ Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

¹⁵ Turn away from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

¹⁶ The eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer:

¹⁷ but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to destroy their memorial from the earth. The righteous cried, and the Lord hearkened to them,

¹⁸ and delivered them out of all their afflictions.

¹⁹ The Lord is near to them that are of a contrite heart; and will save the lowly in spirit.

²⁰ Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but out of them all the Lord will deliver them.

²¹ He keeps all their bones: not one of them shall be broken.

²² The death of sinners is evil: and they that hate righteousness will go wrong.

¹⁵ He formed our inner beings, and he sees everything that we do.

¹⁶ It is not because a king has a great army that he is able to win battles, and it is not because a soldier is very strong that he is able to defeat his enemy.

¹⁷ It is foolish to trust that because horses are very strong that they will able to win a battle and save their riders.

¹⁸ Do not forget that Yahweh watches over those who revere him, those who confidently expect him to faithfully love them.

¹⁹ He saves them SYN from dying before they should die and preserves them when there is a famine.

²⁰ We trust that Yahweh will help us; he protects us like a shield protects a soldier MET.

²¹ We rejoice because of what he has done for us; we trust in him because he MTY is holy.

²² Yahweh, we pray that you will always faithfully love us while we confidently expect you to do great things for us.

¹⁷ A horse is a false hope; his great power will not make any man free from danger.

¹⁸ See, the eye of the Lord is on those in whose hearts is the fear of him, on those whose hope is in his mercy;

¹⁹ To keep their souls from death; and to keep them living in time of need.

²⁰ Our souls are waiting for the Lord; he is our help and our salvation.

²¹ For in him our hearts have joy; in his holy name is our hope.

²² Let your mercy be on us, O Lord, as we are waiting for you.

¹⁹ The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a contrite heart: and he will save the humble of spirit.

²⁰ Many are the afflictions of the just; but out of them all will the Lord deliver them.

²¹ The Lord keepeth all their bones, not one of them shall be broken.

²² The death of the wicked is very evil: and they that hate the just shall be guilty.

¹⁴ from his throne he watches all those who live on earth.

¹⁵ He created their minds, so he knows everything they do.

¹⁶ Even the greatest army cannot save a king; the greatest strength cannot save a warrior.

¹⁷ Don't deceive yourself: a warhorse can't give you victory—even its incredible strength won't save you.

¹⁸ The Lord watches over those who reverently follow him, those who place their hope in his trustworthy love

¹⁹ to save them from death and to keep them alive when famine strikes.

²⁰ We place our confidence in the Lord; he is our help and our defender.

²¹ We are so happy about him, for we trust in his holy character.

²² Lord, let your trustworthy love rest upon us as we hope in you.

¹⁴ From the habitation of his dwelling he beholdeth all them that dwell in the earth.

¹⁵ He facioneth their hearts euery one, and vnderstandeth all their workes.

¹⁶ The King is not saued by the multitude of an hoste, neither is the mightie man deliuered by great strength.

¹⁷ A horse is a vaine helpe, and shall not deliuer any by his great strength.

¹⁸ Beholde, the eye of the Lord is vpon them that feare him, and vpon them, that trust in his mercie,

¹⁹ To deliuer their soules from death, and to preserue them in famine.

²⁰ Our soule waiteth for the Lord: for he is our helpe and our shielde.

²¹ Surely our heart shall reioyce in him, because we trusted in his holy Name.

²² Let thy mercie, O Lord, be vpon vs, as we trust in thee.

¹⁹ To save them from the power of death, And keep them alive in famine.

²⁰ The hope of our souls is in the LORD; He is our help and our shield.

²¹ Yea, in him doth our heart rejoice; In his holy name we have confidence.

²² May thy goodness be upon us, O LORD! According as we trust in thee!

¹⁸ See, Yahweh's eye is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his covenant faithfulness

¹⁹ to deliver their lives from death and to keep them alive in times of famine.

²⁰ We wait for Yahweh; he is our help and our shield.

²¹ Our hearts rejoice in him, for we trust in his holy name.

²² Let your covenant faithfulness, Yahweh, be with us as we put our hope in you.

¹⁸ Lo! the eyes of the Lord be on men dreading him; and in them that hope in his mercy.

²⁰ Our soul suffereth the Lord, that is, abideth patiently his will; for he is our helper and defender.

²¹ For our heart shall be glad in him; and we shall have hope in his holy name.

²² Lord, thy mercy be made on us; as we hoped in thee.

¹⁷ An horse is false to health; forsooth he shall not be saved in the abundance, either plenty, of his virtue. (A horse is an empty thing for salvation, or deliverance; for it shall not be able to save anyone by the abundance, or the plentifulness, of its strength.)

¹⁸ Lo! the eyes of the Lord be on men dreading him; and in them that hope in his mercy. (Behold! the eyes of the Lord (be) upon those who fear, (or who obey, him); and upon those who hope for his mercy./Behold! the eyes of the Lord (be) upon those who revere him; and upon those who trust in his love.)

¹⁹ That he deliver their souls from death; and feed them in hunger. (So that he can save their souls from death; and feed them in times of famine.)

²⁰ Our soul suffereth the Lord, that is, abideth patiently his will, (or Our souls wait for the Lord, yea, we wait patiently for his will to be done); for he is our helper and defender.

²¹ For our heart shall be glad in him; and we shall have hope in his holy name. (And our hearts shall be glad in him; for we have trust in his holy name.)

²² Lord, thy mercy be made on us; as we hoped in thee. (Lord, let thy love rest upon us; for we have trusted in thee.)

¹⁴ From the fixed place of His dwelling, He looked unto all inhabitants of the earth;

¹⁵ Who is forming their hearts together, Who is attending unto all their works.

¹⁶ The king is not saved by the multitude of a force. A mighty man is not delivered, By abundance of power.

¹⁷ A false thing is the horse for safety, And by the abundance of his strength He doth not deliver.

¹⁸ Lo, the eye of Jehovah is to those fearing Him, To those waiting for His kindness,

¹⁹ To deliver from death their soul, And to keep them alive in famine.

²⁰ Our soul hath waited for Jehovah, Our help and our shield is He,

²¹ For in Him doth our heart rejoice, For in His holy name we have trusted.

²² Let Thy kindness, O Jehovah, be upon us, As we have waited for Thee!
