Psalms 31:4-7 in English

⁴ Pluck me out of the net that they have laid privily for me; For thou art my stronghold.

⁵ Into thy hand I commend my spirit: Thou hast redeemed me, O Jehovah, thou God of truth.

⁶ I hate them that regard lying vanities; But I trust in Jehovah.

⁷ I will be glad and rejoice in thy lovingkindness; For thou hast seen my affliction: Thou hast known my soul in adversities;

⁴ For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: I became thoroughly miserable while a thorn was fastened in me. Pause.

⁵ I acknowledged my sin, and hid not mine iniquity: I said, I will confess mine iniquity to the Lord against myself; and thou forgavest the ungodliness of my heart. Pause.

⁶ Therefore shall every holy one pray to thee in a fit time: only in the deluge of many waters they shall not come nigh to him.

⁷ Thou art my refuge from the affliction that encompasses me; my joy, to deliver me from them that have compassed me. Pause.

⁵ Yahweh, you are a God who can be trusted, so I put myself into your care because you rescued me.

⁶ Yahweh, I hate those who worship useless idols, but I trust in you.

⁷ I will be very glad DOU because you faithfully love me. You see me when I have been afflicted, and you have known when I have had troubles.

⁴ For day and night your hand was heavy upon me: I became thoroughly miserable while a thorn was fastened in me. Pause.

⁶ I am full of hate for those who go after false gods; but my hope is in the Lord.

⁷ I will be glad and have delight in your mercy; because you have seen my trouble; you have had pity on my soul in its sorrows;

⁴ Draw me out of the net that they have hidden for me; for thou art my strength.

⁶ I have hated them that observe lying vanities; and as for me, I have confided in Jehovah.

⁷ I will be glad and rejoice in thy loving-kindness, for thou hast seen mine affliction; thou hast known the troubles of my soul,

⁴ For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: I am turned in my anguish, whilst the thorn is fastened.

⁵ I have acknowledged my sin to thee, and my injustice I have not concealed. I said I will confess against myself my injustice to the Lord: and thou hast forgiven the wickedness of my sin.

⁶ For this shall every one that is holy pray to thee in a seasonable time. And yet in a flood of many waters, they shall not come nigh unto him.

⁷ Thou art my refuge from the trouble which hath encompassed me: my joy, deliver me from them that surround me.

⁴ Help me escape from the hidden net that they set to trap me, for you are the one who protects me.

⁵ I put myself in your hands. Save me, Lord, for you are a trustworthy God.

⁶ I hate those who devote themselves to pointless idols; I trust in the Lord.

⁷ I will celebrate, happy in your love that never fails, for you have seen the problems I face and have paid attention to my troubles.

⁴ Drawe mee out of the nette, that they haue layde priuilie for mee: for thou art my strength.

⁵ Into thine hand I commend my spirit: for thou hast redeemed me, O Lord God of trueth.

⁶ I haue hated them that giue them selues to deceitfull vanities: for I trust in the Lord.

⁷ I wil be glad and reioyce in thy mercie: for thou hast seene my trouble: thou hast knowen my soule in aduersities,

⁴ (31-5) Bring me forth out of the net that they have hidden for me; for Thou art my stronghold.

⁶ (31-7) I hate them that regard lying vanities; but I trust in the LORD.

⁷ (31-8) I will be glad and rejoice in Thy lovingkindness; for Thou hast seen mine affliction, Thou hast taken cognizance of the troubles of my soul,

⁴ Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: For thou art my strength.

⁶ (31:7) I hate those that depend on lying vanities; but I trust indeed in the Lord.

⁷ (31:8) I will be glad and rejoice in thy kindness; because thou hast seen my misery; thou hast taken cognizance of the distresses of my soul;

⁷ I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy, That thou hast looked upon my trouble, And hast had regard to my distress;

⁴ Draw me out of the net they have hid for me, for you yourself are my refuge.

⁵ Into your hand I commend my spirit: you ransom me, Lord, faithful God.

⁶ I hate those devoted to worthless idols; I trust in the Lord.

⁷ I will rejoice and be glad in your love, because you have looked on my misery, and cared for me in my distress.

⁴ Draw me out of the net they have hid for me, for you yourself are my refuge.

⁵ Into your hand I commend my spirit: you ransom me, Lord, faithful God.

⁶ I hate those devoted to worthless idols; I trust in the Lord.

⁷ I will rejoice and be glad in your love, because you have looked on my misery, and cared for me in my distress.

⁴ Pluck me out of the net that they have laid secretly for me, for you are my stronghold.

⁵ Into your hand I commit my spirit. You redeem me, Adonai , God of truth.

⁶ I hate those who regard lying vanities, but I trust in Adonai .

⁷ I will be glad and rejoice in your cheshed ·loving-kindness·, for you have seen my affliction. You have known my soul in adversities.

⁴ Pluck me out of the net that they have hidden for me, for you are my refuge.

⁵ Into your hands I entrust my spirit; you will redeem me, Yahweh, God of trustworthiness.

⁶ I hate those who serve worthless idols, but I trust in Yahweh.

⁷ I will be glad and rejoice in your covenant faithfulness, for you saw my affliction; you knew the distress of my soul.

⁴ Pluck me out of the net that they have laid secretly for me, for you are my stronghold.

⁵ Into your hand I commend my spirit. You redeem me, Yahweh, God of truth.

⁶ I hate those who regard lying vanities, but I trust in Yahweh.

⁷ I will be glad and rejoice in your loving kindness, for you have seen my affliction. You have known my soul in adversities.

⁵ I betake my spirit into thine hands; Lord God of truth, thou hast again-bought me.

⁶ Thou hatest them that keep vanities superfluously. Forsooth I hoped in the Lord;

⁷ I shall have fully joy, and shall be glad in thy mercy. For thou beheldest my meekness; thou savedest my life from needs.

⁴ Thou shalt lead me out of the snare, which they hid to me (or which they have hid for me); for thou art my defender.

⁵ I betake my spirit into thine hands; Lord God of truth, thou hast again-bought me. (I commit, or I entrust, my spirit into thy hands; Lord God of truth, thou hast redeemed me.)

⁶ Thou hatest them that keep vanities superfluously. Forsooth I hoped in the Lord; (Thou hatest them who worship false gods, or useless idols. But I put my trust in the Lord;)

⁷ I shall have fully joy, and shall be glad in thy mercy. For thou beheldest my meekness; thou savedest my life from needs. (I shall have full out joy, or rejoice, and shall be glad for thy love. For thou hast beheld my troubles; thou hast saved my life from dis-eases, or distress.)

⁴ Bring me out from the net that they hid for me, For Thou art my strength.

⁵ Into Thy hand I commit my spirit, Thou hast redeemed me, Jehovah God of truth.

⁶ I have hated the observers of lying vanities, And I toward Jehovah have been confident.

⁷ I rejoice, and am glad in Thy kindness, In that Thou hast seen mine affliction, Thou hast known in adversities my soul.
