³ For thou art my rock and my fortress; Therefore for thy name’s sake lead me and guide me.

⁴ Pluck me out of the net that they have laid privily for me; For thou art my stronghold.

⁵ Into thy hand I commend my spirit: Thou hast redeemed me, O Jehovah, thou God of truth.

⁶ I hate them that regard lying vanities; But I trust in Jehovah.

⁷ I will be glad and rejoice in thy lovingkindness; For thou hast seen my affliction: Thou hast known my soul in adversities;

⁸ And thou hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy; Thou hast set my feet in a large place.

⁹ Have mercy upon me, O Jehovah, for I am in distress: Mine eye wasteth away with grief, yea, my soul and my body.

³ Because I kept silence, my bones waxed old, from my crying all the day.

⁴ For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: I became thoroughly miserable while a thorn was fastened in me. Pause.

⁵ I acknowledged my sin, and hid not mine iniquity: I said, I will confess mine iniquity to the Lord against myself; and thou forgavest the ungodliness of my heart. Pause.

⁶ Therefore shall every holy one pray to thee in a fit time: only in the deluge of many waters they shall not come nigh to him.

⁷ Thou art my refuge from the affliction that encompasses me; my joy, to deliver me from them that have compassed me. Pause.

⁸ I will instruct thee and guide thee in this way wherein thou shalt go: I will fix mine eyes upon thee.

⁹ Be ye not as horse and mule, which have no understanding: but thou must constrain their jaws with bit and curb, lest they should come nigh to thee.

³ For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me.

³ Yes, you are like my huge rock and my fort; guide me and lead me DOU in order that I can honor you MTY.

⁴ You are the one who protects me, so keep me from falling into the hidden traps that my enemies have set for me.

⁵ Yahweh, you are a God who can be trusted, so I put myself into your care because you rescued me.

⁶ Yahweh, I hate those who worship useless idols, but I trust in you.

⁷ I will be very glad DOU because you faithfully love me. You see me when I have been afflicted, and you have known when I have had troubles.

⁸ You have not allowed my enemies to capture me; instead, you have rescued me from danger.

⁹ But now, Yahweh, be kind to me again because I am distressed. Because I cry so much, I cannot see well, and I am completely exhausted.

⁶ I am full of hate for those who go after false gods; but my hope is in the Lord.

⁷ I will be glad and have delight in your mercy; because you have seen my trouble; you have had pity on my soul in its sorrows;

⁸ And you have not given me into the hand of my hater; you have put my feet in a wide place.

⁹ Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am in trouble; my eyes are wasted with grief, I am wasted in soul and body.

³ For thou art my rock and my fortress; and, for thy name's sake, thou wilt lead me and guide me.

⁴ Draw me out of the net that they have hidden for me; for thou art my strength.

⁵ Into thy hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, Jehovah, thou God of truth.

⁶ I have hated them that observe lying vanities; and as for me, I have confided in Jehovah.

⁷ I will be glad and rejoice in thy loving-kindness, for thou hast seen mine affliction; thou hast known the troubles of my soul,

⁸ And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large place.

⁹ Be gracious unto me, Jehovah, for I am in trouble: mine eye wasteth away with vexation, my soul and my belly.

³ Because I was silent my bones grew old; whilst I cried out all the day long.

⁴ For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: I am turned in my anguish, whilst the thorn is fastened.

⁵ I have acknowledged my sin to thee, and my injustice I have not concealed. I said I will confess against myself my injustice to the Lord: and thou hast forgiven the wickedness of my sin.

⁶ For this shall every one that is holy pray to thee in a seasonable time. And yet in a flood of many waters, they shall not come nigh unto him.

⁷ Thou art my refuge from the trouble which hath encompassed me: my joy, deliver me from them that surround me.

⁸ I will give thee understanding, and I will instruct thee in this way, in which thou shalt go: I will fix my eyes upon thee.

⁹ Do not become like the horse and the mule, who have no understanding. With bit and bridle bind fast their jaws, who come not near unto thee.

³ You are my rock and my fortress. For the sake of your reputation, please lead me and guide me.

⁴ Help me escape from the hidden net that they set to trap me, for you are the one who protects me.

⁵ I put myself in your hands. Save me, Lord, for you are a trustworthy God.

⁶ I hate those who devote themselves to pointless idols; I trust in the Lord.

⁷ I will celebrate, happy in your love that never fails, for you have seen the problems I face and have paid attention to my troubles.

⁸ You haven't handed me over to my enemies; you have set me free.

⁹ Be kind to me Lord, for I am upset. I can hardly see from so much crying. I am completely wasting away.

³ For thou art my rocke and my fortresse: therefore for thy Names sake direct mee and guide me.

⁴ Drawe mee out of the nette, that they haue layde priuilie for mee: for thou art my strength.

⁵ Into thine hand I commend my spirit: for thou hast redeemed me, O Lord God of trueth.

⁶ I haue hated them that giue them selues to deceitfull vanities: for I trust in the Lord.

⁷ I wil be glad and reioyce in thy mercie: for thou hast seene my trouble: thou hast knowen my soule in aduersities,

⁸ And thou hast not shut me vp in the hand of the enemie, but hast set my feete at large.

⁹ Haue mercie vpon mee, O Lord: for I am in trouble: mine eye, my soule and my bellie are consumed with griefe.

³ (31-4) For Thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for Thy name's sake lead me and guide me.

⁴ (31-5) Bring me forth out of the net that they have hidden for me; for Thou art my stronghold.

⁵ (31-6) Into Thy hand I commit my spirit; Thou hast redeemed me, O LORD, Thou God of truth.

⁶ (31-7) I hate them that regard lying vanities; but I trust in the LORD.

⁷ (31-8) I will be glad and rejoice in Thy lovingkindness; for Thou hast seen mine affliction, Thou hast taken cognizance of the troubles of my soul,

⁸ (31-9) And Thou hast not given me over into the hand of the enemy; Thou hast set my feet in a broad place.

⁹ (31-10) Be gracious unto me, O LORD, for I am in distress; mine eye wasteth away with vexation, yea, my soul and my body.

³ For thou art my rock and my fortress; Therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me.

⁷ (31:8) I will be glad and rejoice in thy kindness; because thou hast seen my misery; thou hast taken cognizance of the distresses of my soul;

⁸ (31:9) And thou hast not surrendered me into the hand of the enemy: thou hast caused my feet to stand on an ample space.

⁹ (31:10) Be gracious unto me, O Lord, for I am in distress; my eye is consumed through vexation—my soul too and my body.

⁸ That thou hast not given me up to the hands of my enemies, But hast set my feet in a wide place.

⁹ Have mercy upon me, O LORD! for I am in trouble! My face is consumed with grief; Yea, my spirit and my body.

³ For my rock and my fortress are you; lead me and guide me so your name will be honoured.

⁴ Draw me out of the net they have hid for me, for you yourself are my refuge.

⁵ Into your hand I commend my spirit: you ransom me, Lord, faithful God.

⁶ I hate those devoted to worthless idols; I trust in the Lord.

⁷ I will rejoice and be glad in your love, because you have looked on my misery, and cared for me in my distress.

⁸ You have not given me into the enemy's hand, you have set my feet in a spacious place.

⁹ Be gracious to me, Lord, for I am distressed; my eye is wasted away with sorrow.

³ For my rock and my fortress are you; lead me and guide me so your name will be honored.

⁹ Have mercy on me, Adonai , for I am in distress. My eye, my soul, and my body waste away with grief.

³ For you are my rock and my fortress; therefore for your name's sake, lead and guide me.

⁶ I hate those who serve worthless idols, but I trust in Yahweh.

⁷ I will be glad and rejoice in your covenant faithfulness, for you saw my affliction; you knew the distress of my soul.

⁸ You have not given me into the hand of my enemy. You have set my feet in a wide open place.

⁹ Have mercy upon me, Yahweh, for I am in distress; my eyes grow weary with grief with my soul and my body.

³ For you are my rock and my fortress, therefore for your name’s sake lead me and guide me.

⁶ Thou hatest them that keep vanities superfluously. Forsooth I hoped in the Lord;

⁷ I shall have fully joy, and shall be glad in thy mercy. For thou beheldest my meekness; thou savedest my life from needs.

⁸ And thou enclosedest not me altogether within the hands of the enemy; thou hast set my feet in a large place.

⁹ Lord, have thou mercy on me, for I am troubled; mine eye is troubled in ire, my soul and my womb also.

³ For thou art my strength and my refuge; and for (the sake of) thy name, thou shalt lead me forth, and shalt nourish me.

⁴ Thou shalt lead me out of the snare, which they hid to me (or which they have hid for me); for thou art my defender.

⁵ I betake my spirit into thine hands; Lord God of truth, thou hast again-bought me. (I commit, or I entrust, my spirit into thy hands; Lord God of truth, thou hast redeemed me.)

⁶ Thou hatest them that keep vanities superfluously. Forsooth I hoped in the Lord; (Thou hatest them who worship false gods, or useless idols. But I put my trust in the Lord;)

⁷ I shall have fully joy, and shall be glad in thy mercy. For thou beheldest my meekness; thou savedest my life from needs. (I shall have full out joy, or rejoice, and shall be glad for thy love. For thou hast beheld my troubles; thou hast saved my life from dis-eases, or distress.)

⁸ And thou closedest not me (al)together within the hands of the enemy; thou hast set my feet in a large place. (And thou enclosedest me not in the hands of the enemy; thou hast set me free in a large place.)

⁹ Lord, have thou mercy on me, for I am troubled; mine eye is troubled in ire, my soul and my womb also. (Lord, have thou mercy on me, for I am in trouble; my eyes be tired from so much grief, and my soul, and my womb, also be tired.)

³ For my rock and my bulwark art Thou, For Thy name's sake lead me and tend me.

⁴ Bring me out from the net that they hid for me, For Thou art my strength.

⁵ Into Thy hand I commit my spirit, Thou hast redeemed me, Jehovah God of truth.

⁶ I have hated the observers of lying vanities, And I toward Jehovah have been confident.

⁷ I rejoice, and am glad in Thy kindness, In that Thou hast seen mine affliction, Thou hast known in adversities my soul.

⁸ And Thou hast not shut me up, Into the hand of an enemy, Thou hast caused my feet to stand in a broad place.

⁹ Favour me, O Jehovah, for distress is to me, Mine eye, my soul, and my body Have become old by provocation.
