Psalms 31:15-22 in American Standard Version (1901)

15 My times are in thy hand: Deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.
16 Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: Save me in thy lovingkindness.
17 Let me not be put to shame, O Jehovah; for I have called upon thee: Let the wicked be put to shame, let them be silent in Sheol.
18 Let the lying lips be dumb, Which speak against the righteous insolently, With pride and contempt.
19 Oh how great is thy goodness, Which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee, Which thou hast wrought for them that take refuge in thee, Before the sons of men!
20 In the covert of thy presence wilt thou hide them from the plottings of man: Thou wilt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
21 Blessed be Jehovah; For he hath showed me his marvellous lovingkindness in a strong city.
22 As for me, I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: Nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications, When I cried unto thee.

Psalms 31:15-22 in Translation for Translators

15 My whole life MTY is in your hands; save me from my enemies, from those who pursue me.
16 Be kind to me and rescue me because you always faithfully love me.
17 Yahweh, I call out to you, so do not allow me to be disgraced. I desire that wicked people will be disgraced; I want them to soon die and go down to the place where the dead people are.
18 I desire that you will cause people MTY who tell lies to be unable to speak. Do that to people who are proud and those who arrogantly accuse righteous people.
19 You have stored up many blessings for those who revere you. You do those good things for those who go to you to be protected; everyone sees you doing that.
20 You hide people in your presence where it is safe, and protect them from people who plot to kill them. You hide them in safe places from their enemies MTY who accuse/insult them.
21 Praise Yahweh! When my enemies surrounded the city in which I was living, he showed me in a wonderful way that he faithfully loves me.
22 I was afraid, and I cried out, “I have been separated from Yahweh!” but you heard me and answered my cry for help.

15 The chances of my life are in your hand; take me out of the hands of my haters, and of those who go after me.
16 Let your servant see the light of your face; in your mercy be my saviour.
17 Let me not be shamed, O Lord, for I have made my prayer to you; let the sinners be shamed, and let their mouths be shut in the underworld.
18 Let the false lips be shut, which say evil against the upright, looking down on him in their pride.
19 O how great is your grace, which you have put in store for your worshippers, and which you have made clear to those who had faith in you, before the sons of men!
20 You will keep them safe in your house from the designs of man; in the secret of your tent will you keep them from angry tongues.
21 May the Lord be praised, because he has made clear to me the wonder of his grace in a strong town.
22 And as for me, I said in my fear, I am cut off from before your eyes; but you gave ear to the voice of my prayer, when my cry went up to you.

16 May you look kindly on me, your servant. Save me because of your trustworthy love.
17 Lord, don't let me be disgraced, for I'm calling out to you. Instead let the wicked be disgraced, let them be silent in the grave.
18 Shut the mouths of those who tell lies against good people—those who speak contemptuously in their pride and arrogance!
19 How wonderful is the goodness you have reserved for those who honor you! In front of everyone you give this goodness to those who come to you for help.
20 You shelter and protect them with your presence, far from their enemies who scheme against them. You keep them safe from attacks and accusations.
21 Bless the Lord, for he has shown me his wonderful trustworthy love when my city was being attacked
22 Terrified I cried out, “I am being destroyed right in front of you!” But you heard my cry when I called out for you to help me.

15 my times be in thine hands. Deliver thou me from the hands of mine enemies; and from them that pursue me.
16 Make thou clear thy face on thy servant; Lord, make thou me safe in thy mercy;
17 be I not shamed, for I inwardly called thee. Unpious men be ashamed, and be they led forth into hell;
18 guileful lips be made dumb. That speak wickedness against a just or rightwise man; in pride, and in mis-using or in abusing.
19 Lord, the multitude of thy sweet-ness is full great; which thou hast hid to men dreading thee. Thou hast made a perfect thing to them that hope in thee; in the sight of the sons of men.
20 Thou shalt hide them in the private of thy face; from the troubling of men. Thou shalt defend them in thy tabernacle; from the against-saying of tongues.
21 Blessed be the Lord; for he hath made wonderful his mercy to me in a strengthened city.
22 Forsooth I said in the out-passing of my soul; I am cast out from the face of thine eyes. Therefore thou heardest the voice of my prayer; while I cried to thee.

16 Make thou clear thy face on thy servant; Lord, make thou me safe in thy mercy; (Make thy face to shine upon thy servant; Lord, save thou me in thy love;)
17 be I not shamed, for I inwardly called thee. Unpious men be ashamed, and be they led forth into hell; (let me not be shamed, for I have called upon thee. Let the unpious, or the unrighteous, be ashamed, and let them go down to Sheol, or the land of the dead;)
18 guileful lips be made dumb. That speak wickedness against a just man; in pride, and in mis-using/in pride, and in abusing. (and let deceitful lips be made dumb. Yea, those who speak wickedness against the righteous; in pride, and in mis-using, or in pride, and in abusing.)
19 Lord, the multitude of thy sweetness is full great; which thou hast hid to men dreading thee. Thou hast made a perfect thing to them that hope in thee; in the sight of the sons of men. (Lord, the multitude of thy goodness is very great; which thou hast kept safe for those who fear thee or for those who revere thee. Thou hast made a perfect thing for those who put their trust in thee; before the sons and daughters of men.)
20 Thou shalt hide them in the private of thy face; from the troubling of men, (or Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence; from all the troubles caused by people). Thou shalt defend them in thy tabernacle; from the against-saying of tongues.
21 Blessed be the Lord; for he hath made wonderful his mercy to me in a strengthened city. (Blessed be the Lord; for he hath shown his wonderful love to me, like a city that is strengthened, or fortified.)
22 Forsooth I said in the out-passing of my soul; I am cast out from the face of thine eyes. Therefore thou heardest the voice of my prayer; while I cried to thee. (For I said in the going forth of my soul, I am cast out from before thine eyes. But thou heardest the words of my prayer; when I cried to thee for help.)

Psalms 31:15-22 in Young's Literal Translation

15 In Thy hand are my times, Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, And from my pursuers.
16 Cause Thy face to shine on Thy servant, Save me in Thy kindness.
17 O Jehovah, let me not be ashamed, For I have called Thee, let the wicked be ashamed, Let them become silent to Sheol.
18 Let lips of falsehood become dumb, That are speaking against the righteous, Ancient sayings, in pride and contempt.
19 How abundant is Thy goodness, That Thou hast laid up for those fearing Thee,
20 Thou hast wrought for those trusting in Thee, Before sons of men. Thou hidest them in the secret place of Thy presence, From artifices of man, Thou concealest them in a tabernacle, From the strife of tongues.
21 Blessed is Jehovah, For He hath made marvellous His kindness To me in a city of bulwarks.
22 And I — I have said in my haste, 'I have been cut off from before Thine eyes,' But Thou hast heard the voice of my supplications, In my crying unto Thee.
