⁴ He that sitteth in the heavens will laugh: The Lord will have them in derision.

⁵ Then will he speak unto them in his wrath, And vex them in his sore displeasure:

⁶ Yet I have set my king Upon my holy hill of Zion.

⁷ I will tell of the decree: Jehovah said unto me, Thou art my son; This day have I begotten thee.

⁸ Ask of me, and I will give thee the nations for thine inheritance, And the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

⁹ Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; Thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.

¹⁰ Now therefore be wise, O ye kings: Be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

¹¹ Serve Jehovah with fear, And rejoice with trembling.

³ saying, Let us break through their bonds, and cast away their yoke from us.

³ They shout, “We should free ourselves from their control MET; we should not let them rule over us any longer!”

⁴ But Yahweh, the one who sits on his throne in heaven, laughs at them; he ridicules those rulers.

⁵ Then, because he is angry with them, he rebukes them. He causes them to be terrified when they realize that he will furiously punish them.

⁶ Yahweh says, “I have installed my king on Zion, my sacred hill in Jerusalem.”

⁷ And his king says, “I will proclaim what Yahweh has decreed. He said to me, ‘ It is as though you are my son; today I have declared to everyone that it is as though MET I am your father.

⁸ Ask me to give you the nations, so that they belong to you to rule over them permanently, and I will give them to you. Even the most remote nations will be yours.

⁹ You will defeat them completely MET; you will destroy them like people smash a clay pot with an iron rod SIM.’”

¹⁰ So then, you kings and other rulers on the earth, act wisely! Heed what Yahweh is warning you!

¹¹ Serve Yahweh, fervently revering him; Rejoice about what he has done for you, but tremble before him!

⁴ Then he whose seat is in the heavens will be laughing: the Lord will make sport of them.

⁵ Then will his angry words come to their ears, and by his wrath they will be troubled:

⁶ But I have put my king on my holy hill of Zion.

⁷ I will make clear the Lord's decision: he has said to me, You are my son, this day have I given you being.

⁸ Make your request to me, and I will give you the nations for your heritage, and the farthest limits of the earth will be under your hand.

⁹ They will be ruled by you with a rod of iron; they will be broken like a potter's vessel.

¹⁰ So now be wise, you kings: take his teaching, you judges of the earth.

¹¹ Give worship to the Lord with fear, kissing his feet and giving him honour,

³ Let us break their bonds asunder, and cast away their cords from us!

⁴ He that dwelleth in the heavens shall laugh, the Lord shall have them in derision.

⁵ Then will he speak to them in his anger, and in his fierce displeasure will he terrify them:

⁶ And I have anointed my king upon Zion, the hill of my holiness.

⁷ I will declare the decree: Jehovah hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; I this day have begotten thee.

⁸ Ask of me, and I will give thee nations for an inheritance, and for thy possession the ends of the earth:

⁹ Thou shalt break them with a sceptre of iron, as a potter's vessel thou shalt dash them in pieces.

¹⁰ And now, O kings, be ye wise, be admonished, ye judges of the earth.

¹¹ Serve Jehovah with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

³ Let us break their bonds asunder: and let us cast away their yoke from us.

⁴ He that dwelleth in heaven shall laugh at them: and the Lord shall deride them.

⁵ Then shall he speak to them in his anger, and trouble them in his rage.

⁶ But I am appointed king by him over Sion his holy mountain, preaching his commandment.

⁷ The Lord hath said to me: Thou art my son, this day have I begotten thee.

⁸ Ask of me, and I will give thee the Gentiles for thy inheritance, and the utmost parts of the earth for thy possession.

⁹ Thou shalt rule them with a rod of iron, and shalt break them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.

¹⁰ And now, O ye kings, understand: receive instruction, you that judge the earth.

¹¹ Serve ye the Lord with fear: and rejoice unto him with trembling.

³ “Let's break the chains and throw away the cords that bind us.”

⁴ But the one who sits enthroned in heaven laughs. The Lord mocks them.

⁵ He will thunder at them, and terrify them in his fury, saying,

⁶ “It is I who placed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.”

⁷ “I will proclaim the Lord's decree,” says the king. “He told me, ‘You are my son. Today I have become your father.

⁸ Ask me, and I will give you the nations as your possessions—the whole earth will belong to you.

⁹ You will break them with a rod of iron, smashing them like pottery.’”

¹⁰ So then you kings, be wise! Be warned, you rulers of the world!

¹¹ Serve the Lord in reverence, celebrate with trembling!

³ Let vs breake their bands, and cast their cordes from vs.

⁴ But he that dwelleth in the heauen, shall laugh: the Lord shall haue them in derision.

⁵ Then shall hee speake vnto them in his wrath, and vexe them in his sore displeasure, saying,

⁶ Euen I haue set my King vpon Zion mine holy mountaine.

⁷ I will declare the decree: that is, the Lord hath said vnto me, Thou art my Sonne: this day haue I begotten thee.

⁸ Aske of me, and I shall giue thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the endes of the earth for thy possession.

⁹ Thou shalt krush them with a scepter of yron, and breake them in pieces like a potters vessell.

¹⁰ Be wise nowe therefore, ye Kings: be learned ye Iudges of the earth.

¹¹ Serue the Lord in feare, and reioyce in trembling.

³ 'Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.'

¹⁰ Now therefore be wise, you kings. Be instructed, you judges of the earth.

¹¹ Abad ·Serve· Adonai with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

³ “Let us tear off the shackles they put on us and throw off their chains.”

⁴ He who sits in the heavens will sneer at them; the Lord mocks them.

⁵ Then he will speak to them in his anger and terrify them in his rage, saying,

⁶ “I myself have anointed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.”

⁷ I will announce a decree of Yahweh. He said to me, “You are my son! This day I have become your father.

⁸ Ask me, and I will give you the nations for your inheritance and the farthermost regions of the earth for your possession.

⁹ You will break them with an iron rod; like a jar of a potter, you will smash them to pieces.”

¹⁰ So now, you kings, be warned; be corrected, you rulers of the earth.

¹¹ Worship Yahweh in fear and rejoice with trembling.

⁹ Thou shalt govern them in an iron rod; and thou shalt break them altogether as the vessel of a potter.

¹⁰ And now, ye kings, understand; ye that deem the earth, be ye learned.

¹¹ Serve ye the Lord with dread; and make ye full out joy to him with trembling.

⁸ Ask thou of me, and I shall give to thee heathen men (for) thine heritage; and (for) thy possession the terms of earth. (Ask thou of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thy inheritance; and the ends of the earth for thy possession.)

⁹ Thou shalt govern them in an iron rod; and thou shalt break them together as the vessel of a potter. (Thou shalt govern them with an iron rod; and thou shalt break them in pieces, like a clay pot.)

¹⁰ And now, ye kings, understand; ye that deem the earth, be ye learned. (And so now, ye kings, understand; ye who judge, (or who rule), the earth, learn your lesson!)

¹¹ Serve ye the Lord with dread; and make ye full out joy to him with trembling. (Serve ye the Lord in fear or Serve ye the Lord with reverence; and bow down before him with trembling.)

³ 'Let us draw off Their cords, And cast from us Their thick bands.'

⁴ He who is sitting in the heavens doth laugh, The Lord doth mock at them.

⁵ Then doth He speak unto them in His anger, And in His wrath He doth trouble them:

⁶ 'And I — I have anointed My King, Upon Zion — My holy hill.'

⁷ I declare concerning a statute: Jehovah said unto me, 'My Son Thou art, I to-day have brought thee forth.

⁸ Ask of Me and I give nations — thy inheritance, And thy possession — the ends of earth.

⁹ Thou dost rule them with a sceptre of iron, As a vessel of a potter Thou dost crush them.'

¹⁰ And now, O kings, act wisely, Be instructed, O judges of earth,

¹¹ Serve ye Jehovah with fear, And rejoice with trembling.
