Psalms 28:5-8 in English

⁵ Because they regard not the works of Jehovah, Nor the operation of his hands, He will break them down and not build them up.

⁶ Blessed be Jehovah, Because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.

⁷ Jehovah is my strength and my shield; My heart hath trusted in him, and I am helped: Therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; And with my song will I praise him.

⁸ Jehovah is their strength, And he is a stronghold of salvation to his anointed.

⁵ There is the voice of the Lord who breaks the cedars; the Lord will break the cedars of Libanus.

⁶ And he will beat them small, even Libanus itself, like a calf; and the beloved one is as a young unicorn.

⁷ There is a voice of the Lord who divides a flame of fire.

⁸ A voice of the Lord who shakes the wilderness; the Lord will shake the wilderness of Cades.

⁵ Yahweh, they do not pay attention to the wonderful things that you have done and that you have created; so get rid of them permanently and do not let them appear again!

⁶ Praise Yahweh because he has heard me when I called out for him to help me!

⁷ Yahweh makes me strong and protects me like a shield MET; I trusted in him, and he helped me. I was glad, and from my inner being I praised him as I sang to him.

⁸ Yahweh causes us to be strong and protects us; and he saves me, the one he appointed MTY to be king.

⁷ The Lord is my strength and my breastplate, my heart had faith in him and I am helped; for this cause my heart is full of rapture, and I will give him praise in my song.

⁸ The Lord is their strength, and a strong place of salvation for his king.

⁵ The voice of the Lord breaketh the cedars: yea, the Lord shall break the cedars of Libanus.

⁶ And shall reduce them to pieces, as a calf of Libanus, and as the beloved son of unicorns.

⁷ The voice of the Lord divideth the flame of fire:

⁸ The voice of the Lord shaketh the desert: and the Lord shall shake the desert of Cades.

⁵ For they don't pay any attention to what the Lord does, or to what he created. So he will destroy them—they will never be restored.

⁶ Praise the Lord! For he has heard my appeal for mercy!

⁷ The Lord is my strength and my shield. I trust in him and he helps me. I'm so happy, and I sing my thanks to him.

⁸ The Lord gives strength to his people; he is a safe refuge for the one he has anointed.

⁵ For they regarde not the woorkes of the Lord, nor the operation of his handes: therefore breake them downe, and builde them not vp.

⁶ Praised be the Lord, for he hath heard the voyce of my petitions.

⁵ Because they give no heed to the works of the LORD, nor to the operation of His hands; He will break them down and not build them up.

⁵ For they regard not the doings of the LORD, nor the work of his hands; Therefore will he destroy them, and not again build them up.

⁶ Praised be the LORD, for he hath heard the voice of my supplications!

⁸ Jehovah is the strength of his people; He is the protecting shield of his anointed.

⁵ They are blind to all that the Lord does, to all that his hands have wrought; and so he will tear them down, to build them up no more.

⁸ Adonai is their strength. He is a stronghold of yishu'ah ·salvation· to his anointed.

⁵ Because they do not understand the deeds of Yahweh or the work of his hands, he will tear them down and never rebuild them.

⁶ Blessed be Yahweh because he has heard the sound of my pleading!

⁷ Yahweh is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and I will praise him with singing.

⁸ Yahweh is the strength of his people, and he is the saving refuge of his anointed one.

(The Lord is my helper and my defender; and my heart trusted him, and I was helped. And my heart full out joyed, or rejoiced; and I shall praise him with my song.)

⁸ The Lord is the strength of his people; and he is the defender of the savings of his christ. (The Lord is the strength of his people; and he is the defender and the saviour of his anointed king, or and he is the defender and the safe place, or the refuge, for his anointed king.)

⁵ For they attend not to the doing of Jehovah, And unto the work of His hands. He throweth them down, And doth not build them up.

⁶ Blessed is Jehovah, For He hath heard the voice of my supplications.

⁷ Jehovah is my strength, and my shield, In Him my heart trusted, and I have been helped. And my heart exulteth, And with my song I thank Him.

⁸ Jehovah is strength to him, Yea, the strength of the salvation of His anointed is He.
