Psalms 28:1-6 in American Standard Version (1901)

1 A Psalm of David. Unto thee, O Jehovah, will I call: My rock, be not thou deaf unto me; Lest, if thou be silent unto me, I become like them that go down into the pit.
2 Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, When I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.
3 Draw me not away with the wicked, And with the workers of iniquity; That speak peace with their neighbors, But mischief is in their hearts.
4 Give them according to their work, and according to the wickedness of their doings: Give them after the operation of their hands; Render to them their desert.
5 Because they regard not the works of Jehovah, Nor the operation of his hands, He will break them down and not build them up.
6 Blessed be Jehovah, Because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.

Psalms 28:1-6 in Translation for Translators

1 Yahweh, I call out to you; you are like an overhanging rock under which I can hide. Do not refuse to answer me, because if you are silent, I will soon be with those who are in their graves.
2 Listen to me when I call out for you to help me, when I pray, lifting up my hands as I face your sacred temple.
3 Do not drag me away with wicked people, with those who do wicked deeds, with those who pretend to act peacefully toward others while in their inner beings, they hate them.
4 Punish those people in the way that they deserve for what they have done; punish them for their evil deeds DOU.
5 Yahweh, they do not pay attention to the wonderful things that you have done and that you have created; so get rid of them permanently and do not let them appear again!
6 Praise Yahweh because he has heard me when I called out for him to help me!

Psalms 28:1-6 in Bible in Basic English

1 Of David. My cry goes up to you, O Lord, my Rock; do not keep back your answer from me, so that I may not become like those who go down into the underworld.
2 Give ear to the voice of my prayer, when I am crying to you, when my hands are lifted up to your holy place.
3 Do not take me away with the sinners and the workers of evil, who say words of peace to their neighbours, but evil is in their hearts.
4 Give them the right reward of their acts, and of their evil doings: give them punishment for the works of their hands, let them have their full reward.
5 Because they have no respect for the works of the Lord, or for the things which his hands have made, they will be broken down and not lifted up by him.
6 May the Lord be praised, because he has given ear to the voice of my prayer.

Psalms 28:1-6 in Free Bible Version

1 A psalm of David. Lord, my rock, I'm calling out to you. Please listen to me! For if you don't respond, I'll be like those who go down into the grave.
2 Listen as I appeal for mercy, as I call for help, as I hold up my hands in prayer towards your holy Temple.
3 Don't drag me off with the wicked, with those who do evil, who speak nicely to their neighbors while in their minds they're plotting evil.
4 Give them what they deserve for their evil actions. Pay them back for what they've done. Give them the reward they've earned!
5 For they don't pay any attention to what the Lord does, or to what he created. So he will destroy them—they will never be restored.
6 Praise the Lord! For he has heard my appeal for mercy!

1 Of David. Unto you, O Lord, do I cry; my rock, be not deaf to me: lest, through holding your peace, I become like those who go down to the pit.
2 Hear my loud entreaty, as I cry for help to you, lifting my hands, O Lord, towards your holy chancel.
3 Take me not off with the wicked, nor with the workers of wrong, whose speech to their neighbours is friendly, while evil is in their heart.
4 Give them as they have done, as their wicked deeds deserve. As their hands have wrought, so give to them: requite to them their deserts.
5 They are blind to all that the Lord does, to all that his hands have wrought; and so he will tear them down, to build them up no more.
6 Blest be the Lord, who has heard my voice as I plead for mercy.

2 Lord, hear thou the voice of my beseeching, while I pray to thee; while I raise mine hands toward thine holy temple.
3 Betake thou not me together with sinners; and lose thou not me with them that work wickedness. Which speak peace to their neighbours; but evils be in their hearts.
4 Give thou to them after the works of them; and after the wickedness of their findings. Give thou to them after the works of their hands; yield thou their yielding to them.

3 Betake thou not me together with sinners; and lose thou not me with them that work wickedness. Which speak peace to their neighbour(s); but evils be in their hearts. (Take thou me not away with the sinners; and destroy thou me not with those who do evil. Yea, those who speak peacefully to their neighbours; but evil is in their hearts.)
