⁴ One thing have I asked of Jehovah, that will I seek after: That I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of Jehovah, And to inquire in his temple.

⁵ For in the day of trouble he will keep me secretly in his pavilion: In the covert of his tabernacle will he hide me; He will lift me up upon a rock.

⁶ And now shall my head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me; And I will offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto Jehovah.

⁷ Hear, O Jehovah, when I cry with my voice: Have mercy also upon me, and answer me.

⁸ When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Jehovah, will I seek.

⁹ Hide not thy face from me; Put not thy servant away in anger: Thou hast been my help; Cast me not off, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

¹⁰ When my father and my mother forsake me, Then Jehovah will take me up.

¹¹ Teach me thy way, O Jehovah; And lead me in a plain path, Because of mine enemies.

¹² Deliver me not over unto the will of mine adversaries: For false witnesses are risen up against me, And such as breathe out cruelty.

¹³ I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of Jehovah In the land of the living.

⁴ Give them according to their works, and according to the wickedness of their devices: give them according to the works of their hands; render their recompence unto them.

⁵ Because they have not attended to the works of the Lord, even to the works of his hands, thou shalt pull them down, and shalt not build them up.

⁶ Blessed be the Lord, for he has hearkened to the voice of my petition.

⁷ The Lord is my helper and my defender; my heart has hoped in him, and I am helped: my flesh has revived, and willingly will I give praise to him.

⁸ The Lord is the strength of his people, and the saving defender of his anointed.

⁹ Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: and take care of them, and lift them up for ever.

⁴ There is one thing that I have requested from Yahweh; this is the one thing that I desire: That I may worship in Yahweh's house/temple every day of my life, and see that Yahweh is wonderful and inquire what he wants me to do.

⁵ He will protect me when I have troubles; he will keep me safe in his Sacred Tent. He will set me safely ◄on a high rock/in a secure place►.

⁶ Then I will triumph over IDM my enemies. I will shout joyfully as I offer sacrifices in his Sacred Tent, and I will praise Yahweh as I sing.

⁷ Yahweh, listen to me while I pray. Be kind to me and answer my prayer.

⁸ I sensed that I heard you say, “Come and worship me IDM,” so, Yahweh, I will worship you.

⁹ I am your servant; Do not be angry with me and turn away from me. You have always helped me. You are the one who has saved me, so do not abandon me now.

¹⁰ Even if my father and mother desert me, you will take care of IDM me.

¹¹ Yahweh, teach me to do what you want me to do, and lead me on a safe path because I have many enemies.

¹² Do not allow my enemies to do to me what they want; they say many false things about me and threaten to do violent things to me.

¹³ But I know that because I trust in you you will be good to me as long as I live.

⁴ Give them according to their works, and according to the wickedness of their devices: give them according to the works of their hands; render their recompense to them.

⁴ One prayer have I made to the Lord, and this is my heart's desire; that I may have a place in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, looking on his glory, and getting wisdom in his Temple.

⁵ For in the time of trouble he will keep me safe in his tent: in the secret place of his tent he will keep me from men's eyes; high on a rock he will put me.

⁶ And now my head will be lifted up higher than my haters who are round me: because of this I will make offerings of joy in his tent; I will make a song, truly I will make a song of praise to the Lord.

⁷ O Lord, let the voice of my cry come to your ears: have mercy on me, and give me an answer.

⁸ When you said, Make search for my face, my heart said to you, For your face will I make my search.

⁹ Let not your face be covered from me; do not put away your servant in wrath; you have been my help: do not give me up or take your support from me, O God of my salvation.

¹⁰ When my father and my mother are turned away from me, then the Lord will be my support.

¹¹ Make your way clear to me, O Lord, guiding me by the right way, because of my haters.

¹² Do not give me into their hands, because false witnesses have come out against me, and men breathing destruction.

¹³ I had almost given up my hope of seeing the blessing of the Lord in the land of the living.

⁴ One thing have I asked of Jehovah, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of Jehovah, and to inquire of him in his temple.

⁵ For in the day of evil he will hide me in his pavilion; in the secret of his tent will he keep me concealed: he will set me high upon a rock.

⁶ And now shall my head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me; and I will offer in his tent sacrifices of shouts of joy: I will sing, yea, I will sing psalms unto Jehovah.

⁷ Hear, Jehovah; with my voice do I call; be gracious unto me, and answer me.

⁸ My heart said for thee, Seek ye my face. Thy face, O Jehovah, will I seek.

⁹ Hide not thy face from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; cast me not off, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

¹⁰ For had my father and my mother forsaken me, then had Jehovah taken me up.

¹¹ Teach me thy way, Jehovah, and lead me in an even path, because of mine enemies.

¹² Deliver me not over to the will of mine adversaries; for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out violence.

¹³ Unless I had believed to see the goodness of Jehovah in the land of the living...!

⁴ Give them according to their works, and according to the wickedness of their inventions. According to the works of their hands give thou to them: render to them their reward.

⁵ Because they have not understood the works of the Lord, and the operations of his hands: thou shalt destroy them, and shalt not build them up.

⁶ Blessed be the Lord, for he hath heard the voice of my supplication.

⁷ The Lord is my helper and my protector: in him hath my heart confided, and I have been helped. And my flesh hath flourished again, and with my will I will give praise to him.

⁸ The Lord is the strength of his people, and the protector of the salvation of his anointed.

⁹ Save, O Lord, thy people, and bless thy inheritance: and rule them and exalt them for ever.

⁴ I only ask the Lord for one thing: I just want to live in the house of the Lord throughout my life, contemplating the Lord's goodness and thinking about his Temple.

⁵ When troubles come he will protect me and keep me safe, hiding me in his house, as secure as if he'd placed me on a high rock.

⁶ He will hold my head high over my enemies who are all around me. I shall offer sacrifices in his house with shouts of joy, and I will sing praises to the Lord.

⁷ Listen to me, Lord, when I call for help. Be gracious and answer me.

⁸ You told me, “Come to me.” I am coming to you, Lord.

⁹ Don't refuse to talk to me. Don't be angry with your servant and turn away. You are the one who helps me, so please don't reject me and abandon me, God of my salvation.

¹⁰ Even if my father and my mother abandon me, the Lord will take care of me.

¹¹ Lord, teach me your way and lead me along the right path, because my enemies are against me—

¹² don't hand me over to them and their evil intentions, for they are making false accusations against me and threatening me with violence.

¹³ However, I'm absolutely sure that I will see the Lord's goodness even in this life.

⁴ One thing haue I desired of the Lord, that I will require, euen that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the dayes of my life, to beholde the beautie of the Lord, and to visite his Temple.

⁵ For in the time of trouble hee shall hide mee in his Tabernacle: in the secrete place of his pauillion shall he hide me, and set me vp vpon a rocke.

⁶ And nowe shall hee lift vp mine head aboue mine enemies rounde about mee: therefore wil I offer in his Tabernacle sacrifices of ioy: I wil sing and praise the Lord.

⁷ Hearken vnto my voyce, O Lord, when I crie: haue mercie also vpon mee and heare mee.

⁸ When thou saidest, Seeke ye my face, mine heart answered vnto thee, O Lord, I will seeke thy face.

⁹ Hide not therefore thy face from mee, nor cast thy seruat away in displeasure: thou hast bene my succour: leaue me not, neither forsake mee, O God of my saluation.

¹⁰ Though my father and my mother shoulde forsake me, yet the Lord will gather me vp.

¹¹ Teache mee thy way, O Lord, and leade me in a right path, because of mine enemies.

¹² Giue me not vnto the lust of mine aduersaries: for there are false witnesses risen vp against me, and such as speake cruelly.

¹³ I should haue fainted, except I had beleeued to see the goodnes of the Lord in the land of the liuing.

⁴ One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the graciousness of the LORD, and to visit early in His temple.

⁵ For He concealeth me in His pavilion in the day of evil; He hideth me in the covert of His tent; He lifteth me up upon a rock.

⁶ And now shall my head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me; and I will offer in His tabernacle sacrifices with trumpet-sound; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.

⁷ Hear, O LORD, when I call with my voice, and be gracious unto me, and answer me.

⁸ In Thy behalf my heart hath said: 'Seek ye My face'; Thy face, LORD, will I seek.

⁹ Hide not Thy face from me; put not Thy servant away in anger; Thou hast been my help; cast me not off, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

¹⁰ For though my father and my mother have forsaken me, the LORD will take me up.

¹¹ Teach me Thy way, O LORD; and lead me in an even path, because of them that lie in wait for me.

¹² Deliver me not over unto the will of mine adversaries; for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out violence.

¹³ If I had not believed to look upon the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living! —

⁵ For he will hide me in his pavilion on the day of evil; he will conceal me in the secret of his tabernacle; upon a rock will he place me high.

⁶ And now will my head be lifted up above my enemies all round about me; and I will sacrifice in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy: I will sing, and I will triumphantly play unto the Lord.

⁷ Hear, O Lord, my voice, when I call, and be gracious unto me, and answer me.

⁸ Of thee, said my heart, “Seek ye my presence”: thy presence, Lord, will I seek.

⁹ Hide then not thy face from me; reject not in anger thy servant, thou who hast been my help: cast me not off, nor forsake me, O God of my salvation.

¹⁰ For my father and my mother have forsaken me; but the Lord will take me up.

¹¹ Point me out thy way, O Lord! and guide me on a level path, because of those that regard me enviously.

¹² Give me not up to the revengeful desire of my assailants; for there are risen up against me false witnesses, and such as utter violence.

¹³ Unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of life—

⁴ Give them according to their works, And according to the wickedness of their devices: Give them according to the works of their hands; Render their recompense unto them.

⁶ Yea, already doth he lift my head above my enemies, who are around me; Therefore in his tabernacle will I offer sacrifices with the sound of trumpets; I will sing, yea, with instruments of music I will give praise to the LORD.

⁷ Hear my voice, O LORD! when I cry unto thee; Have pity upon me, and answer me!

⁸ When I think of thy precept, “Seek ye my face!” Thy face, LORD, do I seek.

⁹ O hide not thou thy face from me; Cast not thy servant away in displeasure! Thou hast been my help, do not leave me; Do not forsake me, O God, my helper!

¹⁰ For my father and my mother have forsaken me; But the LORD will take me up.

¹¹ Teach me thy way, O LORD! And lead me in the right path, because of my enemies!

¹² Give me not up to the will of my adversaries! For false witnesses have risen up against me, And such as breathe out injustice.

¹³ I trust that I shall see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living. Hope thou in the LORD!

⁴ One thing have I asked of the Lord, and that do I long for — To live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the grace of the Lord and enquire in his temple.

⁵ For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of misfortune. In his sheltering tent he hides me: he lifts me up on a rock.

⁶ And now that my head he has lifted above my encircling foes, I will march round the altar and sacrifice, shouting with joy, in his tent, making music and song to the Lord.

⁷ Hear, O Lord, my loud cry, and graciously answer me.

⁸ My heart has said to you, “Your face, O Lord, I seek.”

⁹ Hide not your face from me, reject not your servant in anger: for you have been my help. Abandon me not, nor forsake me, O God of my help:

¹⁰ for father and mother have left me; but the Lord will take me up.

¹¹ Teach me your way, O Lord: lead me in an even path, because of my enemies.

¹² Give me not up, O Lord, unto the rage of my foes; for against me have risen false witnesses, breathing out cruelty.

¹³ Firm is the faith I cherish, that I, in the land of the living, will yet see the goodness of God.

⁴ One thing have I asked of the Lord, and that do I long for — To live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the grace of the Lord and inquire in his temple.

⁵ For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of misfortune. In his sheltering tent he hides me: he lifts me up on a rock.

⁶ And now that my head he has lifted above my encircling foes, I will march round the altar and sacrifice, shouting with joy, in his tent, making music and song to the Lord.

⁴ One thing have I asked of Yahweh, and I will seek that: that I may live in the house of Yahweh all the days of my life, to see the beauty of Yahweh and to meditate in his temple.

⁵ For in the day of trouble he will hide me in his shelter; in the cover of his tent he will conceal me. He will lift me high on a rock!

⁶ Then my head will be lifted up above my enemies all around me, and I will offer sacrifices of joy in his tent! I will sing and make songs to Yahweh!

⁷ Hear, Yahweh, my voice when I cry out! Have mercy on me, and answer me!

⁸ My heart says about you, “Seek his face!” I seek your face, Yahweh!

⁹ Do not hide your face from me; do not turn your servant away in anger! You have been my helper; do not forsake me or abandon me, God of my salvation!

¹⁰ Even if my father and my mother forsake me, Yahweh will take me in.

¹¹ Teach me your way, Yahweh! Lead me on a level path because of my enemies.

¹² Do not give me up to the desires of my enemies, for false witnesses have risen up against me, and they breathe out violence!

¹³ What would have happened to me if I had not believed that I would see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living?

¹⁰ For my father and my mother have forsaken me; but the Lord hath taken me up.

¹¹ Lord, set thou a law to me in thy way; and dress thou me in a rightful or right path, for mine enemies.

¹² Betake thou not me into the souls of them, that trouble me; for wicked witnesses have risen against me, and wickedness lied to itself.

¹³ I believe to see the goods of the Lord; in the land of living men.

(I asked of the Lord only one thing; and I shall seek this thing; that I live in the House of the Lord all the days of my life. So that I can see the beauty of the Lord; and I can seek his guidance in his Temple.)

⁵ For he hid me in his tabernacle in the day of evils; he defended me in the hid place of his tabernacle. He enhanced me in a stone; (For he shall hide me in his Temple on the day of evil; he shall defend me in the hidden place of his Temple. He shall put me upon a stone;)

⁶ and now he enhanced mine head over mine enemies. I compassed, and offered in his tabernacle a sacrifice of crying out; I shall sing, and I shall say psalm to the Lord. (and then my head shall be lifted up over my enemies, who be all around me. And I shall offer an offering of acclamation in his Temple; yea, I shall sing a song of praise to the Lord.)

⁷ Lord, hear thou my voice, by which I cried to thee; have thou mercy on me, and hear me. (Lord, hear thou my voice, when I cry to thee; have thou mercy on me, and answer me.)

⁸ Mine heart said to thee, My face sought thee; Lord, I shall seek again thy face. (And thou saidest, Seek ye my face; and my heart said to thee, Lord, I shall seek thy face.)

⁹ Turn thou not away thy face from me; bow thou not away in wrath from thy servant. Lord, be thou mine helper, forsake thou not me; and, God, mine health, despise thou not me, (or Lord, be thou my helper, abandon thou me not; and, O God, my salvation, or my deliverance, despise thou me not).

¹⁰ For my father and my mother have forsaken me; but the Lord hath taken me (up). (For even if my father and my mother desert me; the Lord shall still take care of me.)

¹¹ Lord, set thou a law to me in thy way; and (ad)dress thou me in a rightful path, for mine enemies. (Lord, show thou me thy way; and direct thou me on the right path, for I have many enemies./Lord, teach thou me thy way; and direct thou me on the right path, safe from my enemies.)

¹² Betake thou not me into the souls of them, that trouble me; for wicked witnesses have risen against me, and wickedness lied to itself. (Deliver thou me not unto those who trouble me; for wicked witnesses have risen up against me, and the wicked lie even to themselves!)

¹³ I believe to see the goods of the Lord; in the land of living men. (I know that I shall see the goodness of the Lord; in the land of the living.)

⁴ One thing I asked of Jehovah — it I seek. My dwelling in the house of Jehovah, All the days of my life, To look on the pleasantness of Jehovah, And to inquire in His temple.

⁵ For He hideth me in a tabernacle in the day of evil, He hideth me in a secret place of His tent, On a rock he raiseth me up.

⁶ And now, lifted up is my head, Above my enemies — my surrounders, And I sacrifice in His tent sacrifices of shouting, I sing, yea, I sing praise to Jehovah.

⁷ Hear, O Jehovah, my voice — I call, And favour me, and answer me.

⁸ To Thee said my heart 'They sought my face, Thy face, O Jehovah, I seek.'

⁹ Hide not Thy face from me, Turn not aside in anger Thy servant, My help Thou hast been. Leave me not, nor forsake me, O God of my salvation.

¹⁰ When my father and my mother Have forsaken me, then doth Jehovah gather me.

¹¹ Shew me, O Jehovah, Thy way, And lead me in a path of uprightness, For the sake of my beholders.

¹² Give me not to the will of my adversaries, For risen against me have false witnesses, And they breathe out violence to me.

¹³ I had not believed to look on the goodness of Jehovah In the land of the living!
