² O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou answerest not; And in the night season, and am not silent.

³ But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

⁴ Our fathers trusted in thee: They trusted, and thou didst deliver them.

⁵ They cried unto thee, and were delivered: They trusted in thee, and were not put to shame.

⁶ But I am a worm, and no man; A reproach of men, and despised of the people.

⁷ All they that see me laugh me to scorn: They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

⁸ Commit thyself unto Jehovah; let him deliver him: Let him rescue him, seeing he delighteth in him.

⁹ But thou art he that took me out of the womb; Thou didst make me trust when I was upon my mother’s breasts.

¹⁰ I was cast upon thee from the womb; Thou art my God since my mother bare me.

¹¹ Be not far from me; for trouble is near; For there is none to help.

¹² Many bulls have compassed me; Strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.

² In a place of green grass, there he has made me dwell: he has nourished me by the water of rest.

³ He has restored my soul: he has guided me into the paths of righteousness, for his name's sake.

⁴ Yea, even if I should walk in the midst of the shadow of death, I will not be afraid of evils: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, these have comforted me.

⁵ Thou hast prepared a table before me in presence of them that afflict me: thou hast thoroughly anointed my head with oil; and thy cup cheers me like the best wine.

⁶ Thy mercy also shall follow me all the days of my life: and my dwelling shall be in the house of the Lord for a very long time.

² My God, every day I call to you during the daytime and during the night, but you do not answer me, so I am not able to sleep.

³ But you are holy. You sit on your throne as king, and we the people of Israel praise you PRS.

⁴ Our ancestors trusted in you. Because they trusted in you, you rescued them.

⁵ When they cried out to you, you saved them. They trusted in you, and ◄they were not disappointed/you saved them as you said that you would►.

⁶ But you have not rescued me People despise me and consider that I am not a man; they think that I am as worthless as a worm! Everyone HYP scorns me and despises me.

⁷ Everyone who sees me HYP makes fun of me. They sneer at me and insult me by shaking their heads at me as though I were an evil man. They say,

⁸ “He trusts in Yahweh, so Yahweh should save him! He says that Yahweh is very pleased with him; if that is so, Yahweh should rescue him!”

⁹ Why do you not protect me now as you did when I was born? I was safe even when I was ◄nurssing/drinking milk from my mother's breasts►.

¹⁰ It was as though you adopted me right when I was born. You have ◄been my God/taken care of me► ever since I was born.

¹¹ So, ◄do not stay far from/stay close to► LIT me now because enemies who will cause me much trouble are near me, and there is no one else who can help me.

¹² My enemies surround me like a herd/group of wild bulls. Fierce people, like those strong bulls that graze on the hills in Bashan area, encircle me.

² In a place of green grass, there he has made me dwell: he has nourished me by the water of rest.

³ He has restored my soul: he has guided me into the paths of righteousness, for his name's sake.

³ But you are holy, O you who are seated among the praises of Israel.

⁴ Our fathers had faith in you: they had faith and you were their saviour.

⁵ They sent up their cry to you and were made free: they put their faith in you and were not put to shame.

⁶ But I am a worm and not a man; cursed by men, and looked down on by the people.

⁷ I am laughed at by all those who see me: pushing out their lips and shaking their heads they say,

⁸ He put his faith in the Lord; let the Lord be his saviour now: let the Lord be his saviour, because he had delight in him.

⁹ But it was you who took care of me from the day of my birth: you gave me faith even from my mother's breasts.

¹⁰ I was in your hands even before my birth; you are my God from the time when I was in my mother's body.

¹¹ Be not far from me, for trouble is near; there is no one to give help.

¹² A great herd of oxen is round me: I am shut in by the strong oxen of Bashan.

² My God, I cry by day, and thou answerest not; and by night, and there is no rest for me:

³ And thou art holy, thou that dwellest amid the praises of Israel.

⁴ Our fathers confided in thee: they confided, and thou didst deliver them.

⁵ They cried unto thee, and were delivered; they confided in thee, and were not confounded.

⁶ But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and the despised of the people.

⁷ All they that see me laugh me to scorn; they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying:

⁸ Commit it to Jehovah — let him rescue him; let him deliver him, because he delighteth in him!

⁹ But thou art he that took me out of the womb; thou didst make me trust, upon my mother's breasts.

¹⁰ I was cast upon thee from the womb; thou art my God from my mother's belly.

¹¹ Be not far from me, for trouble is near; for there is none to help.

¹² Many bulls have encompassed me; Bashan's strong ones have beset me round.

² He hath set me in a place of pasture. He hath brought me up, on the water of refreshment:

³ He hath converted my soul. He hath led me on the paths of justice, for his own name’s sake.

⁴ For though I should walk in the midst of the shadow of death, I will fear no evils, for thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff, they have comforted me.

⁵ Thou hast prepared a table before me against them that afflict me. Thou hast anointed my head with oil; and my chalice which inebriateth me, how goodly is it!

⁶ And thy mercy will follow me all the days of my life. And that I may dwell in the house of the Lord unto length of days.

² My God, every day I cry out to you, but you don't answer; at night too, but I get no rest.

³ Yet you are holy, and the praises of Israel are your throne.

⁴ Our forefathers trusted in you; they trusted and you rescued them.

⁵ They cried out to you for help, and they were saved. They trusted in you and were not defeated.

⁶ But I'm a worm, not a man, scorned and despised by everyone.

⁷ People who see me mock me. They laugh at me and shake their heads, saying,

⁸ “He trusts in the Lord—well then, let the Lord save him! If the Lord is such a friend, then let the Lord rescue him!”

⁹ However, you brought me safely through birth, and led me to trust in you at my mother's breasts.

¹⁰ I was entrusted to you from birth; from the time I was born you have been my God.

¹¹ Do not be distant from me, because trouble is close by and no one else can help.

¹² Enemies surround me like a herd of bulls; strong bulls from Bashan have encircled me.

² O my God, I crie by day, but thou hearest not, and by night, but haue no audience.

³ But thou art holy, and doest inhabite the prayses of Israel.

⁴ Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didest deliuer them.

⁵ They called vpon thee, and were deliuered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.

⁶ But I am a worme, and not a man: a shame of men, and the contempt of the people.

⁷ All they that see me, haue me in derision: they make a mowe and nod the head, saying,

⁸ He trusted in the Lord, let him deliuer him: let him saue him, seeing he loueth him.

⁹ But thou didest draw me out of ye wombe: thou gauest me hope, euen at my mothers breasts.

¹⁰ I was cast vpon thee, euen from ye wombe: thou art my God from my mothers belly.

¹¹ Be not farre from me, because trouble is neere: for there is none to helpe me.

¹² Many yong bulles haue compassed me: mightie bulles of Bashan haue closed me about.

² (22-3) O my God, I call by day, but Thou answerest not; and at night, and there is no surcease for me.

³ (22-4) Yet Thou art holy, O Thou that art enthroned upon the praises of Israel.

⁴ (22-5) In Thee did our fathers trust; they trusted, and Thou didst deliver them.

⁵ (22-6) Unto Thee they cried, and escaped; in Thee did they trust, and were not ashamed.

⁶ (22-7) But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.

⁷ (22-8) All they that see me laugh me to scorn; they shoot out the lip, they shake the head:

⁸ (22-9) 'Let him commit himself unto the LORD! let Him rescue him; let Him deliver him, seeing He delighteth in him.'

⁹ (22-10) For Thou art He that took me out of the womb; Thou madest me trust when I was upon my mother's breasts.

¹⁰ (22-11) Upon Thee I have been cast from my birth; Thou art my God from my mother's womb.

¹¹ (22-12) Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.

¹² (22-13) Many bulls have encompassed me; strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.

⁹ (22:10) Yea, thou art he that took me from the womb: thou hast been my trust when I hung on my mother's breasts.

¹⁰ (22:11) Upon thee was I cast from my birth: from my mother's womb art thou my God.

¹¹ (22:12) Oh be not far from me now; for distress is near; for there is none to help.

¹² (22:13) Many steers have encompassed me: the strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.

¹⁰ Upon thee have I cast myself from my birth; Thou hast been my God from my earliest breath!

¹¹ Oh, be not far from me, for trouble is near; For there is none to help!

¹² Many bulls surround me; Strong bulls of Bashan close me in on every side.

² I cry in the day, you do not answer, I cry in the night but find no rest.

³ You are the Holy One, throned on the praises of Israel.

⁸ “He trusts in the LORD. Let him deliver him. Let him rescue him, since he delights in him.”

⁹ But you brought me out of the womb. You made me trust while at my mother’s breasts.

¹⁰ I was thrown on you from my mother’s womb. You are my God since my mother bore me.

¹¹ Don’t be far from me, for trouble is near. For there is no one to help.

¹² Many bulls have surrounded me. Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled me.

² My God, I shall cry by day, and thou shalt not hear; and by night, and not to unwisdom to me.

³ Forsooth thou, the praising of Israel, dwellest in holiness;

⁴ our fathers hoped in thee; they hoped, and thou deliveredest them.

⁵ They cried to thee, and they were made safe; they hoped in thee, and they were not shamed.

⁶ But I am a worm, and not a man; the shame of men, and the out-casting of the people.

⁷ All men seeing me scorned me; they spake with lips, and wagged the head, and said,

⁸ He hoped in the Lord, deliver he him; make he him safe, for he will or delights in him.

⁹ For thou it art that drewest me out of the womb, that art mine hope from the teats of my mother;

¹⁰ into thee I am cast forth from the womb. From the womb of my mother thou art my God;

¹¹ depart thou not from me. For tribulation is next; for none there is that helpeth.

¹² Many calves encompassed me; fat bulls besieged me.

² My God, I shall cry by day, and thou shalt not hear; and by night, and not to unwisdom to me. (My God, I cry to thee all day long, but thou answerest me not; and I cry to thee all night, without any ceasing.)

³ Forsooth thou, the praising of Israel, dwellest in holiness;

⁴ our fathers hoped in thee; they hoped, and thou deliveredest them. (our forefathers put their trust in thee; they trusted thee, and thou deliveredest them.)

⁵ They cried to thee, and they were made safe; they hoped in thee, and they were not shamed. (They cried to thee, and they were saved; they trusted thee, and they were not put to shame, or were not disappointed.)

⁶ But I am a worm, and not a man; the shame of men, and the out-casting of the people. (But I am a worm, and not a man; despised, and an outcast among the people.)

⁷ All men seeing me scorned me; they spake with lips, and wagged the head, and said,

⁸ He hoped in the Lord, deliver he him; make he him safe, for he will him. (He hoped in the Lord, that he would rescue him; so let him save him, if he delighteth in him.)

⁹ For thou it art that drewest me out of the womb, that art mine hope from the teats of my mother; (For thou art he who drew me out of the womb,thou who art my hope from my mother’s breast;)

¹⁰ into thee I am cast forth from the womb. From the womb of my mother thou art my God; (and I was cast upon thee from the womb. Thou art my God from my mother’s womb;)

¹¹ depart thou not from me. For tribulation is next; for none there is that helpeth. (go thou not away from me. For trouble is near; and there is no one to help me.)

¹² Many calves (en)compassed me; fat bulls besieged me. (Many calves surrounded me; the strong bulls of Bashan besieged me.)

² My God, I call by day, and Thou answerest not, And by night, and there is no silence to me.

³ And Thou art holy, Sitting — the Praise of Israel.

⁴ In Thee did our fathers trust — they trusted, And Thou dost deliver them.

⁵ Unto Thee they cried, and were delivered, In Thee they trusted, and were not ashamed.

⁶ And I am a worm, and no man, A reproach of man, and despised of the people.

⁷ All beholding me do mock at me, They make free with the lip — shake the head,

⁸ 'Roll unto Jehovah, He doth deliver him, He doth deliver him, for he delighted in him.'

⁹ For thou art He bringing me forth from the womb, Causing me to trust, On the breasts of my mother.

¹⁰ On Thee I have been cast from the womb, From the belly of my mother Thou art my God.

¹¹ Be not far from me, For adversity is near, for there is no helper.
