²⁴ Therefore hath Jehovah recompensed me according to my righteousness, According to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.

²⁵ With the merciful thou wilt show thyself merciful; With the perfect man thou wilt show thyself perfect;

²⁶ With the pure thou wilt show thyself pure; And with the perverse thou wilt show thyself froward.

²⁷ For thou wilt save the afflicted people; But the haughty eyes thou wilt bring down.

²⁸ For thou wilt light my lamp: Jehovah my God will lighten my darkness.

²⁹ For by thee I run upon a troop; And by my God do I leap over a wall.

³⁰ As for God, his way is perfect: The word of Jehovah is tried; He is a shield unto all them that take refuge in him.

³¹ For who is God, save Jehovah? And who is a rock, besides our God,

³² The God that girdeth me with strength, And maketh my way perfect?

³³ He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet: And setteth me upon my high places.

³⁴ He teacheth my hands to war; So that mine arms do bend a bow of brass.

³⁵ Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation; And thy right hand hath holden me up, And thy gentleness hath made me great.

³⁶ Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, And my feet have not slipped.

³⁷ I will pursue mine enemies, and overtake them; Neither will I turn again till they are consumed.

³⁸ I will smite them through, so that they shall not be able to rise: They shall fall under my feet.

³⁹ For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: Thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.

⁴⁰ Thou hast also made mine enemies turn their backs unto me, That I might cut off them that hate me.

⁴¹ They cried, but there was none to save; Even unto Jehovah, but he answered them not.

⁴² Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind; I did cast them out as the mire of the streets.

⁴³ Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; Thou hast made me the head of the nations: A people whom I have not known shall serve me.

⁴⁴ As soon as they hear of me they shall obey me; The foreigners shall submit themselves unto me.

⁴⁵ The foreigners shall fade away, And shall come trembling out of their close places.

⁴⁶ Jehovah liveth; and blessed be my rock; And exalted be the God of my salvation,

⁴⁷ Even the God that executeth vengeance for me, And subdueth peoples under me.

⁴⁸ He rescueth me from mine enemies; Yea, thou liftest me up above them that rise up against me; Thou deliverest me from the violent man.

⁴⁹ Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O Jehovah, among the nations, And will sing praises unto thy name.

⁵⁰ Great deliverance giveth he to his king, And showeth lovingkindness to his anointed, To David and to his seed, for evermore.

⁴¹ They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.

⁴² Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets.

⁴³ Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me.

⁴⁴ As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.

⁴⁵ The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.

⁴⁶ The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

⁴⁷ It is God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people under me.

⁴⁸ He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

²⁴ So he rewards me because I do what is right; he knows that I SYN have not committed sins.

²⁵ Yahweh, you are faithful to those who faithfully do what you tell them to do; you always do what is good/right to those who do what you want them to do.

²⁶ You are kind to those who are kind to others, but you act wisely toward those who ◄act perversely/do bad things►.

²⁷ You save those who are humble, but you cause those who are proud to be humiliated/ashamed.

²⁸ You give light to my soul/spirit; you take away the darkness of my soul.

²⁹ You enable me to be strong, with the result that I can run and attack a line of enemy soldiers; with your help I can ◄scale/climb up► the walls that surround my enemies' cities.

³⁰ Everything that Yahweh my God does is perfect. We can depend on him to do what he promises. He is like a shield MET to protect all those who go to him for refuge.

³¹ Yahweh is RHQ the only one who is God; only he is like an overhanging rock under which we can be safe.

³² God is the one who enables me to be strong and who keeps me safe on the roads that I walk on.

³³ He enables me to walk swiftly without stumbling, like a deer walks/runs in the mountains.

³⁴ He teaches me how to use a strong/metal bow in order that I can use it to fight in battles.

³⁵ Yahweh, you protect and save me with your shield; you have made me safe by your power MTY. I have become ◄strong/a great king► because you have helped me.

³⁶ You havecleared the road for me, with the result that now I do not slip/stumble.

³⁷ I have pursued my enemies and caught them; I did not stop until I had defeated/killed them all.

³⁸ When I strike them, they are not able to get up again; they lie on the ground, defeated.

³⁹ You have enabled me to be strong in order that I can fight battles and defeat my enemies.

⁴⁰ You caused my enemies to run away (OR, you enabled me to put my foot on my enemies' necks after I captured them and forced them to lie on the ground); I have gotten rid of all those who hated me.

⁴¹ They called out for someone to help them, but no one saved them.

⁴² I pulverize them, with the result that they become like MET the dust that the wind blows away; I throw them out like SIM people throw dirt out into the streets.

⁴³ You enabled me to defeat those who fought against me, and appointed me to be the ruler of many nations; people whom I did not know about previously are now slaves in my kingdom.

⁴⁴ When foreigners hear about me, they ◄cringe/bow low before me► and they obey me.

⁴⁵ They are no longer courageous, and from their forts where they were hiding they come to me trembling.

⁴⁶ Yahweh is alive! Praise the one who is like an overhanging rock MET under which I am safe Exalt the God who saves me!

⁴⁷ He enables me to get revenge on my enemies; he causes me to defeat nations and to rule over them,

⁴⁸ and he rescues me from my enemies. He has lifted me up high so that violent men could not reach me and harm me.

⁴⁹ So I praise him and I tell the nations the great things that he has done.

⁵⁰ He has enabled me, his king, to powerfully defeat my enemies; he faithfully loves me, David, the one he has chosen to be king, and he will faithfully love my descendants forever.

²⁶ He who is holy will see that you are holy; but to the man whose way is not straight you will be a hard judge.

²⁷ For you are the saviour of those who are in trouble; but eyes full of pride will be made low.

²⁸ You, O Lord, will be my light; by you, my God, the dark will be made bright for me.

²⁹ By your help I have made a way through the wall which was shutting me in; by the help of my God I have gone over a wall.

³⁰ As for God, his way is completely good; the word of the Lord is tested; he is a breastplate for all those who put their faith in him.

³¹ For who is God but the Lord? or who is a Rock but our God?

³² God puts a strong band about me, guiding me in a straight way.

³³ He makes my feet like roes' feet, and puts me on high places.

³⁴ He makes my hands expert in war, so that a bow of brass is bent by my arms.

³⁵ You have given me the breastplate of your salvation: your right hand has been my support, and your mercy has made me great.

³⁶ You have made my steps wide under me, so that my feet are kept from slipping.

³⁷ I go after my haters and overtake them; not turning back till they are all overcome.

³⁸ I will give them wounds, so that they are not able to get up: they are stretched under my feet.

³⁹ For I have been armed by you with strength for the fight: you have made low under me those who come out against me.

⁴⁰ By you their backs are turned in flight, so that my haters are cut off.

⁴¹ They were crying out, but there was no one to come to their help: even to the Lord, but he gave them no answer.

⁴² Then they were crushed as small as dust before the wind; they were drained out like the waste of the streets.

⁴³ You have made me free from the fightings of the people; you have made me the head of the nations: a people of whom I had no knowledge will be my servants.

⁴⁴ From the time when my name comes to their ears they will be ruled by me: men of other countries will, with false hearts, put themselves under my authority.

⁴⁵ They will be wasting away, they will come out of their secret places shaking with fear.

⁴⁶ The Lord is living; praise be to my Rock, and let the God of my salvation be honoured.

⁴⁷ It is God who sends punishment on my haters, and puts peoples under my rule.

⁴⁸ He makes me free from my haters; I am lifted up over those who come up against me: you have made me free from the violent man.

⁴⁹ Because of this I will give you praise, O Lord, among the nations, and will make a song of praise to your name.

⁵⁰ Great salvation does he give to his king; he has mercy on the king of his selection, David, and on his seed for ever.

⁴¹ They cried, and there was none to save; — unto Jehovah, and he answered them not.

⁴⁴ At the hearing of the ear, they obey me: strangers come cringing unto me.

⁴⁵ Strangers have faded away, and they come trembling forth from their close places.

⁴⁶ Jehovah liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of my salvation,

⁴⁷ The God who hath avenged me, and hath subjected the peoples to me;

⁴⁸ Who hath delivered me from mine enemies: yea, thou hast lifted me up above them that rose up against me; from the man of violence hast thou delivered me.

⁵⁰ It is he who giveth great deliverances to his king, and sheweth loving-kindness to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.

²⁴ The Lord rewarded me for doing what's right. I am innocent in his sight.

²⁵ You show trust to those who trust; you show integrity to those with integrity,

²⁶ You show yourself pure to those who are pure, but you show yourself smart to those who are crafty.

²⁷ You save the humble, but you bring down the proud.

²⁸ You light my lamp! Lord, my God, you light up my darkness!

²⁹ With you, I can charge down a troop of soldiers; with you, my God, I can climb a fortress wall.

³⁰ God's way is absolutely right. What the Lord says is trustworthy. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection.

³¹ For who is God except the Lord? Who is the rock, except our God?

³² God makes me strong and keeps me safe.

³³ He makes me surefooted like the deer, able to walk the heights in safety.

³⁴ He teaches me how to fight in battle; he gives me the strength to draw a bronze bow.

³⁵ You protect me with the shield of your salvation; you support me with your powerful right hand; your help has made me great.

³⁶ You gave me space in which to walk, and prevented my feet from slipping.

³⁷ I chased my enemies, and caught up with them. I did not turn around until I had destroyed them.

³⁸ I struck them down—they couldn't get up. They fell at my feet.

³⁹ You made me strong for battle; you made those who rose up against me kneel down before me.

⁴⁰ You made my enemies run away; I destroyed all my enemies.

⁴¹ They cried out for help, but no one came to rescue them. They even called out to the Lord, but he did not answer them.

⁴² I ground them into dust, like dust in the wind. I threw them out like mud in the street.

⁴³ You rescued me from rebellious people; you made me ruler over nations—people I didn't know now serve me.

⁴⁴ As soon as they hear of me, they obey; foreigners cringe before me.

⁴⁵ They lose heart, and come trembling in surrender from their strongholds.

⁴⁶ The Lord lives! Blessed be my rock! May the God who saves me be praised!

⁴⁷ God avenges me, he subdues peoples under me,

⁴⁸ he rescues me from those who hate me. You keep me safe from those who rebel against me, you save me from violent men.

⁴⁹ That's why I will praise you among the nations, Lord; I will sing praises about who you are.

⁵⁰ You have saved the king so often, showing your trustworthy love to David, your anointed, and to his descendants forever.

⁴⁴ As soone as they heare, they shall obey me: the strangers shall be in subiection to me.

⁴⁵ Strangers shall shrinke away, and feare in their priuie chambers.

⁴⁶ Let the Lord liue, and blessed be my strength, and the God of my saluation be exalted.

⁴⁷ (18-48) Even the God that executeth vengeance for me, and subdueth peoples under me.

⁴⁸ (18-49) He delivereth me from mine enemies; yea, Thou liftest me up above them that rise up against me; Thou deliverest me from the violent man.

⁴⁹ (18-50) Therefore I will give thanks unto Thee, O LORD, among the nations, and will sing praises unto Thy name.

⁴⁶ Yahweh lives; may my rock be praised. May the God of my salvation be exalted.

⁴⁷ He is the God who executes vengeance for me, who subdues the nations under me.

⁴⁸ I am set free from my enemies! Indeed, you lifted me above the ones who rose against me! You rescued me from violent men.

³⁷ I shall pursue mine enemies, and I shall take them; and I shall not turn till they fail.

³⁸ I shall all-break them, and they shall not be able to stand; they shall fall under my feet.

⁴³ Thou shalt deliver me from the against-sayings of the people; thou shalt set me into the head of folks. The people, which I knew not, hath served me;

⁴⁴ in the hearing of ear it obeyed to me. Alien sons lied down to me,

⁴⁵ alien sons waxed eld; and went crooked from thy paths.

⁴⁶ The Lord liveth, and my God be blessed; and the God of mine health be enhanced.

⁴⁷ God, that givest vengeances to me, and makest subject peoples under me;

⁴⁸ thou art my deliverer from my wrathful enemies. And thou shalt enhance me from them, that rise against me; thou shalt deliver me from a wicked man.

²⁷ For thou shalt make safe a meek people; and thou shalt make meek the eyes of proud men. (And thou shalt save, or help, the poor; but thou shalt humble those who be high in their own eyes or but thou shalt look with contempt upon the proud.)

²⁸ For thou, Lord, lightenest my lantern; my God, lighten thou my darknesses. (For thou, Lord, brightenest my lantern; my God, thou lightest up my darknesses.)

²⁹ For by thee I shall be delivered from temptation; and in my God I shall go over the wall. (For I shall be rescued,or saved, from temptation by thee; and by my God or and with God’s help, I shall go over the wall.)

³⁰ My God, his way is undefouled; the speeches of the Lord be examined by fire; he is the defender of all men hoping in him. (My God, his way is undefiled; the words of the Lord be assayed by fire, that is, they be tried and tested, and found to be true; he is the defender of all who put their trust in him.)

³¹ For why, who is God, except the Lord? either who is God, except our God? (For who else is God, except the Lord? yea, who else is God, except our God?)

³² God that hath girded me with virtue; and hath set my way unwemmed. (God who hath girded me with strength; and hath made my way without blemish, or without fault.)

³³ Which made perfect my feet as the feet of harts; and ordaining me on high things. (Who made my feet like the feet of harts; and hath ordained me upon the high places.)

³⁴ Which teacheth mine hands to battle; and thou hast set mine arms as a brazen bow. (Who teacheth my hands in battle; and now my arms can break a bronze bow.)

³⁵ And thou hast given to me the covering of thine health; and thy right hand hath up-taken me, (or And thou hast given me the covering of thy salvation, or thy deliverance; and thy right hand hath taken me up). And thy chastising amended me into the end; and that chastising of thee shall teach me.

³⁹ And thou hast girded me with virtue to battle; and thou hast overturned under me men rising against me. (And thou hast girded me with strength for the battle; and thou hast put beneath me those who rose up against me.)

⁴⁰ And thou hast given mine enemies aback to me; and thou hast destroyed men hating me/and thou hast destroyed them that hated me. (And thou hast given me the backs of my enemies; and I have destroyed those who hated me.)

⁴¹ They cried, and none there was that made them safe; they cried to the Lord, and he heard not them. (They cried, but there was no one to save them; they cried to the Lord, but he did not answer them.)

⁴² And I shall all-break them, as dust before the face of the wind; I shall do them away, as the clay of streets. (And I broke them all in pieces, so that they became like the dust in the wind; I did them away, and trampled them underfoot, like the clay in the streets.)

⁴³ Thou shalt deliver me from the against-sayings of the people; thou shalt set me into the head of folks. The people, which I knew not, hath served me; (Thou delivered me from the gainsaying of the people; thou put me as the head of the nations. The people, whom I knew not, now serve me.)

⁴⁴ in the hearing of ear it obeyed to me. Alien sons lied (down) to me, (The sons of foreigners, or of strangers, now bow down to me; and after hearing me speak, they obey me.)

⁴⁵ alien sons waxed eld; and (went) crooked from thy paths. (The courage of the sons of foreigners, or of strangers, faded away; and they slunk out of their strongholds together.)

⁴⁶ The Lord liveth, and my God be blessed; and the God of mine health be enhanced (or let the God of my salvation be exalted!).

⁴⁷ God, that givest vengeances to me, and makest subject peoples under me; (O God, who givest vengeance to me, and makest the nations subject under me;)

⁴⁸ thou art my deliverer from my wrathful enemies. And thou shalt enhance me from them, that rise against me; thou shalt deliver me from a wicked man. (thou art my deliverer from all my enemies. And thou hast raised me up over those who rose up against me; thou hast rescued me from violent men.)

⁴⁹ Therefore, Lord, I shall acknowledge to thee among nations; and I shall say psalm to thy name. (And so, Lord, I shall praise thee before the nations; and I shall sing to thy name.)

²⁵ With the kind Thou showest Thyself kind, With a perfect man showest Thyself perfect.

²⁶ With the pure Thou showest Thyself pure, And with the perverse showest Thyself a wrestler,

²⁷ For Thou a poor people savest, And the eyes of the high causest to fall.

²⁸ For Thou — Thou lightest my lamp, Jehovah my God enlighteneth my darkness.

³⁰ God! perfect is His way, The saying of Jehovah is tried, A shield is He to all those trusting in Him.

³¹ For who is God besides Jehovah? And who is a rock save our God?

⁴⁰ As to mine enemies — Thou hast given to me the neck, As to those hating me — I cut them off.

⁴¹ They cry, and there is no saviour, On Jehovah, and He doth not answer them.

⁴² And I beat them as dust before wind, As mire of the streets I empty them out.

⁴³ Thou dost deliver me From the strivings of the people, Thou placest me for a head of nations, A people I have not known do serve me.

⁴⁴ At the hearing of the ear they hearken to me, Sons of a stranger feign obedience to me,

⁴⁵ Sons of a stranger fade away, And are slain out of their close places.

⁴⁶ Jehovah liveth — and blessed is my rock, And exalted is the God of my salvation.

⁴⁷ God — who is giving vengeance to me, And He subdueth peoples under me,

⁴⁸ My deliverer from mine enemies, Above my withstanders Thou raisest me, From a man of violence dost deliver me.

⁴⁹ Therefore I confess Thee among nations, O Jehovah, And to Thy name I sing praise,

⁵⁰ Magnifying the salvation of His king, And doing kindness to His anointed, To David, and to his seed — unto the age!
