⁶ I have called upon thee, for thou wilt answer me, O God: Incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.

⁷ Show thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them that take refuge in thee From those that rise up against them.

⁸ Keep me as the apple of the eye; Hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

⁹ From the wicked that oppress me, My deadly enemies, that compass me about.

¹⁰ They are inclosed in their own fat: With their mouth they speak proudly.

¹¹ They have now compassed us in our steps; They set their eyes to cast us down to the earth.

¹² He is like a lion that is greedy of his prey, And as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.

¹³ Arise, O Jehovah, Confront him, cast him down: Deliver my soul from the wicked by thy sword;

¹⁴ From men by thy hand, O Jehovah, From men of the world, whose portion is in this life, And whose belly thou fillest with thy treasure: They are satisfied with children, And leave the rest of their substance to their babes.

⁶ The pangs of hell came round about me: the snares of death prevented me.

⁷ And when I was afflicted I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God: he heard my voice out of his holy temple, and my cry shall enter before him, even into his ears.

⁸ Then the earth shook and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains were disturbed, and were shaken, because God was angry with them.

⁹ There went up a smoke in his wrath, and fire burst into a flame at his presence: coals were kindled at it.

¹⁰ And he bowed the heaven, and came down: and thick darkness was under his feet.

¹¹ And he mounted on cherubs and flew: he flew on the wings of winds.

¹² And he made darkness his secret place: round about him was his tabernacle, even dark water in the clouds of the air.

¹³ At the brightness before him the clouds passed, hail and coals of fire.

¹⁴ The Lord also thundered from heaven, and the Highest uttered his voice.

¹⁴ And he sent forth his weapons, and scattered them; and multiplied lightnings, and routed them.

¹⁴ From men, by thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, whose portion is in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy treasure: they are satisfied with children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.

⁶ O God, I pray to you because you answer me; please listen MTY to what I am saying.

⁷ Show me that you faithfully love me. By your great power MTY rescue those who ◄run to/trust in► you to protect them from their enemies.

⁸ Protect me as people carefully protect their own eyes; protect me like birds protect their babies under their wings MET.

⁹ Do not allow wicked people to attack me; my enemies surround me, wanting to kill me.

¹⁰ They never pity IDM anyone, and they are always boasting.

¹¹ They have hunted/searched for me and found me. They surround me, watching for an opportunity to throw me to the ground.

¹² They are like lions SIM that are ready to tear apart the animals that they capture; they are like young lions that are hiding, waiting to pounce on their prey.

¹³ Yahweh, come and ◄oppose/fight against► my enemies and defeat them! Use your sword to save me from those wicked people!

¹⁴ Yahweh, by your power MTY rescue me from those people who are interested only in things here in this world. But you provide plenty of food for those whom you love dearly; their children also have many things that their grandchildren will inherit.

⁹ From the evil-doers who are violent to me, and from those who are round me, desiring my death.

¹⁰ They are shut up in their fat: with their mouths they say words of pride.

¹¹ They have made a circle round our steps: their eyes are fixed on us, forcing us down to the earth;

¹² Like a lion desiring its food, and like a young lion waiting in secret places.

¹³ Up! Lord, come out against him, make him low, with your sword be my saviour from the evil-doer.

¹⁴ With your hand, O Lord, from men, even men of the world, whose heritage is in this life, and whom you make full with your secret wealth: they are full of children; after their death their offspring take the rest of their goods.

¹⁰ They are enclosed in their own fat; with their mouth they speak proudly.

¹¹ They have now encompassed us in our steps; their eyes have they set, bowing down to the earth.

¹² He is like a lion that is greedy of its prey, and as a young lion lurking in secret places.

¹³ Arise, Jehovah, anticipate him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, thy sword;

¹⁴ From men who are thy hand, O Jehovah, from men of this age: their portion is in this life, and their belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure; they have their fill of sons, and leave the rest of their substance to their children.

⁶ The sorrows of hell encompassed me: and the snares of death prevented me.

⁷ In my affliction I called upon the Lord, and I cried to my God: And he heard my voice from his holy temple: and my cry before him came into his ears.

⁸ The earth shook and trembled: the foundations of the mountains were troubled and were moved, because he was angry with them.

⁹ There went up a smoke in his wrath: and a fire flamed from his face: coals were kindled by it.

¹⁰ He bowed the heavens, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.

¹¹ And he ascended upon the cherubim, and he flew; he flew upon the wings of the winds.

¹² And he made darkness his covert, his pavilion round about him: dark waters in the clouds of the air.

¹³ At the brightness that was before him the clouds passed, hail and coals of fire.

¹⁴ And the Lord thundered from heaven, and the highest gave his voice: hail and coals of fire.

⁶ God, I call out to you because I know you will answer; please listen carefully to what I have to say.

⁷ Show me how wonderful your trustworthy love really is, Savior of those who come to you for protection against their enemies!

⁸ Keep me safe as someone you love; hide me underneath your wings.

⁹ Protect me from the attacks of the wicked who want to destroy me, from my enemies who surround me, intent on killing me.

¹⁰ They have no compassion, and all they have to say is pure arrogance.

¹¹ They hunt me down and surround me, looking for the chance to knock me down in the dust.

¹² They are like lions, longing to tear their prey apart; like fierce lions crouching in ambush.

¹³ Lord, stand up and confront them! Force them to back down! By your sword rescue me from the wicked!

¹⁴ Lord, by your power, save me from people whose only thought is for this world. May they be filled with what you have in store for them, their children too, with left-overs for their grandchildren!

¹² Like as a lyon that is greedy of pray, and as it were a lyons whelp lurking in secret places.

¹⁴ From men by thine hand, O Lord, from men of the world, who haue their portion in this life, whose bellies thou fillest with thine hid treasure: their children haue ynough, and leaue the rest of their substance for their children.

¹⁰ Their gross heart they have shut tight, with their mouth they speak proudly.

¹² They are like a lion, eager for his prey; Like a young lion, lurking in secret places.

¹³ Arise, O LORD! disappoint them, cast them down! Deliver me from the wicked by thy sword,

¹⁴ From men, by thy hand, O LORD! from men of the world, Whose portion is in life; whom thou loadest with thy treasure; Whose children have enough, and leave their superfluity to their children.

⁹ From wicked people who do me violence, from deadly foes who crowd around me.

¹⁰ They have closed their hearts to pity, the words of their mouths are haughty.

¹¹ Now they dog us at every step, keenly watching, to hurl us to the ground,

¹² like a lion, longing to tear, like a young lion, lurking in secret.

¹⁴ by your hand, O Lord, from those — whose portion of life is but of this world. But let your treasured ones have food in plenty may their children be full and their children satisfied.

¹⁰ They have no mercy on anyone; their mouths speak with pride.

¹² They are like a lion eager for a victim, like a young lion crouching in hidden places.

¹³ Arise, Yahweh! Attack them! Throw them down on their faces! Rescue my life from the wicked by your sword!

¹⁴ Rescue me from men by your hand, Yahweh, from men of this world whose prosperity is in this life alone! You will fill the bellies of your treasured ones with riches; they will have many children and will leave their wealth to their children.

¹¹ They have now surrounded us in our steps. They set their eyes to cast us down to the earth.

¹² He is like a lion that is greedy of his prey, as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.

¹³ Arise, LORD, confront him. Cast him down. Deliver my soul from the wicked by your sword,

¹⁴ from men by your hand, LORD, from men of the world, whose portion is in this life. You fill the belly of your cherished ones. Your sons have plenty, and they store up wealth for their children.

⁶ I have called on you, for you will answer me, God. Turn your ear to me. Hear my speech.

⁷ Show your marvellous loving kindness, you who save those who take refuge by your right hand from their enemies.

⁸ Keep me as the apple of your eye. Hide me under the shadow of your wings,

⁹ from the wicked who oppress me, my deadly enemies, who surround me.

¹⁰ They close up their callous hearts. With their mouth they speak proudly.

¹⁰ they have closed together their fatness; the mouth of them spake pride.

¹¹ They casted me forth, and have en-compassed me now; they ordained to bow down their eyes into the earth.

¹² They, as a lion made ready to his prey, have taken me; and as the whelp of a lion dwelling in hid places.

¹³ Lord, rise thou up, before come thou him, and deceive or overturn thou him; deliver thou my life from the unpious, deliver thou thy sword;

¹⁴ from the enemies of thine hand. Lord, part thou them from a few men of the land in the life of them; their womb is full-filled of thine hid things. They be full-filled with sons; and they left their remnants, either residue, to their little children.

⁸ Keep thou me as the apple of thine eye; and from them that against-stand thy right hand. Cover thou me under the shadow of thy wings; (Keep thou me as the apple of thine eye. Cover thou me, or hide me, under the shadow of thy wings;)

⁹ from the face of unpious men, that have tormented me. Mine enemies have (en)compassed my soul; (from the face of the unpious, or of the wicked, who torment me. My enemies have surrounded me;)

¹⁰ they have closed (al)together their fatness; the mouth of them spake pride. (they be enclosed in their own fatness; their mouths have spoken proudly, or boastfully.)

¹¹ They casted me forth, and have (en)compassed me now; they ordained to bow down their eyes into the earth. (They surround me now, wherever I turn; they lie in wait, to bring me down to the ground.)

¹² They, as a lion made ready to his prey, have taken me; and as the whelp of a lion dwelling in hid places. (They be ready to catch me, like a lion catcheth its prey; and like the cub of a lion living in hidden places.)

¹³ Lord, rise thou up, before come thou him, and deceive thou him/and overturn thou him; deliver thou my life from the unpious, deliver thou thy sword; (Lord, rise thou up, come thou before him, and overturn thou him; save thou my life from the unpious, with thy sword,)

¹⁴ from the enemies of thine hand. Lord, part thou them from a few men of the land in the life of them; their womb is full-filled of thine hid things. They be full-filled with sons; and they left their remnants, either residue, to their little children. (yea, from the enemies of thy hand. Lord, save thou me from those of the land who have their portion in this life; their womb is filled full of thy good things. They be filled full with sons and daughters; and they have left all that they have to their little children.)

⁶ I — I called Thee, for Thou dost answer me, O God, incline Thine ear to me, hear my speech.

⁷ Separate wonderfully Thy kindness, O Saviour of the confiding, By Thy right hand, from withstanders.

⁸ Keep me as the apple, the daughter of the eye; In shadow of Thy wings thou dost hide me.

⁹ From the face of the wicked who spoiled me. Mine enemies in soul go round against me.

¹⁰ Their fat they have closed up, Their mouths have spoken with pride:

¹¹ 'Our steps now have compassed him;' Their eyes they set to turn aside in the land.

¹² His likeness as a lion desirous to tear, As a young lion dwelling in secret places.

¹³ Arise, O Jehovah, go before his face, Cause him to bend. Deliver my soul from the wicked, Thy sword,

¹⁴ From men, Thy hand, O Jehovah, From men of the world, their portion is in life, And with Thy hidden things Thou fillest their belly, They are satisfied with sons; And have left their abundance to their sucklings.
