³ Put not your trust in princes, Nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.

⁴ His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; In that very day his thoughts perish.

⁵ Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in Jehovah his God:

⁶ Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that in them is; Who keepeth truth for ever;

⁷ Who executeth justice for the oppressed; Who giveth food to the hungry. Jehovah looseth the prisoners;

⁸ Jehovah openeth the eyes of the blind; Jehovah raiseth up them that are bowed down; Jehovah loveth the righteous;

⁹ Jehovah preserveth the sojourners; He upholdeth the fatherless and widow; But the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.

³ You people, do not trust in your leaders; do not trust humans because they cannot save/rescue you from your difficulties/problems.

⁴ And when they die, their corpses decay and become soil again. After they die, they can no longer do the things that they planned to do.

⁵ But those whose helper is the God whom Jacob worshiped are happy. The one whom they confidently expect to help them is Yahweh, their God.

⁶ He is the one who created heaven and the earth and the oceans and all the creatures that are in them. He always does what he has promised to do.

⁷ He decides matters fairly for those who are ◄treated unfairly/oppressed►, and he provides food for those who are hungry. He frees those who are in prison.

⁸ Yahweh enables those who are blind to see again. He lifts up those who have fallen down. He loves righteous people.

⁹ Yahweh takes care of those from other countries who live in our land, and he helps widows and orphans. But he gets rid of wicked people.

¹⁰ Yahweh will continue to be our king forever; you people of Israel, your God will rule forever! Praise Yahweh!

⁹ The Lord takes care of those who are in a strange land; he gives help to the widow and to the child who has no father; but he sends destruction on the way of sinners.

¹⁰ The Lord will be King for ever; your God, O Zion, will be King through all generations. Praise be to the Lord.

⁷ Sing ye to the Lord with praise: sing to our God upon the harp.

⁹ Who giveth to beasts their food: and to the young ravens that call upon him.

¹⁰ He shall not delight in the strength of the horse: nor take pleasure in the legs of a man.

³ Don't put your confidence in human leaders—they cannot save you.

⁴ Once they breathe no more, they go back to dust. On that very day everything they planned dies with them.

⁵ Happy are those who have the God of Jacob to help them—their hope is in the Lord their God—

⁶ the one who made heaven and earth, and the sea along with everything it contains. He is trustworthy forever.

⁷ He makes sure the oppressed receive justice. He gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free.

⁸ The Lord makes the blind see. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down. The Lord loves those who do what is right.

⁹ The Lord takes care of strangers among us. He looks after widows and orphans. But he makes life difficult for the wicked.

¹⁰ The Lord will reign forever. Zion, he will be your God for all generations. Praise the Lord!

⁹ The LORD preserves the foreigners. He upholds the fatherless and widow, but he turns the way of the wicked upside down.

¹⁰ The LORD will reign forever; your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the LORD!

² I shall praise the Lord in my life; I shall sing to my God as long as I shall be.

³ Do not ye trust in princes; neither in the sons of men, in whom is no health.

⁴ The spirit of him shall go out, and he shall turn again into his earth; in that day all the thoughts of them shall perish.

⁵ He is blessed, of whom the God of Jacob is his helper; his hope is in his Lord God,

⁶ that made heaven, and earth; the sea, and all things that be in those or them. Which keepeth truth into the world,

⁷ he maketh doom to them that suffer wrong; he giveth meat to them that be hungry. The Lord unbindeth fettered men;

⁸ the Lord lighteneth blind men. The Lord raiseth men hurled or hurtled down; the Lord loveth just men.

⁹ The Lord keepeth comelings; he shall take up a motherless child, and a widow; and he shall destroy the ways of sinners.

¹⁰ The Lord shall reign into the worlds; Zion, thy God shall reign in generation and into generation.

² I shall praise the Lord in my life (or I shall praise the Lord all my life); I shall sing to my God as long as I shall be.

³ Do not ye trust in princes; neither in the sons of men, in whom is no health. (Do not ye trust in princes, or in your leaders; nor in other people, in whom there is no help, or deliverance.)

⁴ The spirit of him shall go out, and he shall turn again into his earth; in that day all the thoughts of them shall perish. (The breath of your prince, or of your leader, shall go out of him, and he shall return to the dust; and on that day all his thoughts shall perish.)

⁵ He is blessed, of whom the God of Jacob is his helper; his hope is in his Lord God, (He is blessed, whom the God of Jacob is his helper; his hope is in the Lord his God,)

⁶ that made heaven, and earth; the sea, and all things that be in those. Which keepeth truth into the world, (who made heaven, and earth; and the sea, and all the creatures that be in them. Who keepeth the truth safe forever,)

⁷ he maketh doom to them that suffer wrong; he giveth meat to them that be hungry. The Lord unbindeth fettered men; (he maketh justice for those who suffer wrong; he giveth food to those who be hungry. The Lord unbindeth the fettered;)

⁸ the Lord lighteneth blind men. The Lord raiseth men hurtled down; the Lord loveth just men. (the Lord giveth light to the blind or the Lord giveth sight to the blind. The Lord raiseth up those who be hurtled down; the Lord loveth the righteous.)

⁹ The Lord keepeth comelings; he shall take up a motherless child, and a widow; and he shall destroy the ways of sinners. (The Lord keepeth newcomers, or strangers, safe or The Lord keepeth watch over newcomers, or strangers; he taketh up the causes of a motherless child, and of a widow; but he destroyeth the ways of the sinners.)

¹⁰ The Lord shall reign into the worlds; Zion, thy God shall reign in generation and into generation. (The Lord shall reign forever; Zion, thy God shall reign for all generations, or thy God shall reign in all generations.)

² I praise Jehovah during my life, I sing praise to my God while I exist.

³ Trust not in princes — in a son of man, For he hath no deliverance.

⁴ His spirit goeth forth, he returneth to his earth, In that day have his thoughts perished.

⁵ O the happiness of him Who hath the God of Jacob for his help, His hope is on Jehovah his God,

⁶ Making the heavens and earth, The sea and all that is in them, Who is keeping truth to the age,

⁷ Doing judgment for the oppressed, Giving bread to the hungry.

⁸ Jehovah is loosing the prisoners, Jehovah is opening (the eyes of) the blind, Jehovah is raising the bowed down, Jehovah is loving the righteous,

⁹ Jehovah is preserving the strangers, The fatherless and widow He causeth to stand, And the way of the wicked He turneth upside down.

¹⁰ Jehovah doth reign to the age, Thy God, O Zion, to generation and generation, Praise ye Jah!
