Psalms 144:12-14 in English

¹² When our sons shall be as plants grown up in their youth, And our daughters as corner-stones hewn after the fashion of a palace;

¹³ When our garners are full, affording all manner of store, And our sheep bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our fields;

¹⁴ When our oxen are well laden; When there is no breaking in, and no going forth, And no outcry in our streets:

¹² to make known to the sons of men thy power, and the glorious majesty of thy kingdom.

¹³ Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endures through all generations.

^13a The Lord is faithful in his words, and holy in all his works.

¹⁴ The Lord supports all that are falling, and sets up all that are broken down.

¹² That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:

¹³ That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets:

¹⁴ That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets.

¹² That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:

¹³ I wish/hope that our barns will be full of many different crops. I wish/hope that the sheep in our fields will give birth to tens of thousands of baby lambs.

¹⁴ I wish/hope that our cows will give birth to many calves without having any miscarriages or deaths when they are born (OR, that no enemies will break through our city walls and take us ◄into exile/to their own countries►). I wish/hope that there will not be a time when the people in our streets cry out in distress because foreign armies are invading.

¹³ Our granaries full, affording all manner of store; our sheep bringing forth thousands, ten thousands in our pastures;

¹⁴ Our kine laden with young; no breaking in and no going forth, and no outcry in our streets.

¹² To make thy might known to the sons of men: and the glory of the magnificence of thy kingdom.

¹² Then our sons will grow up like plants in their youth and become mature, and our daughters will be like beautiful pillars carved to support a palace.

¹³ Our storehouses will be full of all kinds of crops; our flocks of sheep will grow by thousands, increasing by tens of thousands in the pastures.

¹⁴ Our cattle will grow fat. No one will break down our city walls, there will be no exile, no cries of mourning in our town squares.

¹² That our sonnes may be as the plantes growing vp in their youth, and our daughters as the corner stones, grauen after the similitude of a palace:

¹³ That our corners may be full, and abounding with diuers sorts, and that our sheepe may bring forth thousands and ten thousand in our streetes:

¹⁴ That our oxen may be strong to labour: that there be none inuasion, nor going out, nor no crying in our streetes.

¹² We whose sons are as plants grown up in their youth; whose daughters are as corner-pillars carved after the fashion of a palace;

¹³ Whose garners are full, affording all manner of store; whose sheep increase by thousands and ten thousands in our fields;

¹⁴ Whose oxen are well laden; with no breach, and no going forth, and no outcry in our broad places;

¹² That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; That our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:

¹⁴ their kine be fat. There is no falling of their wall, neither passing over of it; neither cry is in the streets of them.

¹² Whose sons be as new plantings in their youth. The daughters of them be arrayed; adorned about as the likeness of a temple. (May our sons be like plants fully grown in their youth; may our daughters be arrayed, or adorned, like a palace.)

¹³ The cellars of them be full; bringing out from this vessel into that, or from one vessel into another. The sheep of them be with lambs, plenteous in their goings out; (May our cellars be full; and we be able to bring forth from this vessel into that one, or and we be able to bring forth from one vessel into another. May our sheep be with lambs; yea, plentiful and innumerable.)

¹⁴ their kine be fat. There is no falling of their wall, neither passing over (of it); neither cry is in the streets of them. (May all our kine be fat; and be there no parting in the walls of their wombs, nor any passing over of them. And may there be no cries of distress in all our streets.)

¹² Because our sons are as plants, Becoming great in their youth, Our daughters as hewn stones, Polished — the likeness of a palace,

¹³ Our garners are full, bringing out from kind to kind, Our flocks are bringing forth thousands, Ten thousands in our out-places,

¹⁴ Our oxen are carrying, there is no breach, And there is no outgoing, And there is no crying in our broad places.
