¹ A Psalm of David. Blessed be Jehovah my rock, Who teacheth my hands to war, And my fingers to fight:

² My lovingkindness, and my fortress, My high tower, and my deliverer; My shield, and he in whom I take refuge; Who subdueth my people under me.

³ Jehovah, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that thou makest account of him?

⁴ Man is like to vanity: His days are as a shadow that passeth away.

⁵ Bow thy heavens, O Jehovah, and come down: Touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.

⁶ Cast forth lightning, and scatter them; Send out thine arrows, and discomfit them.

¹ David's Psalm of praise. I will exalt thee, my God, my king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever.

² Every day will I bless thee, and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.

³ The Lord is great, and greatly to be praised; and there is no end of his greatness.

⁴ Generation after generation shall praise thy works, and tell of thy power.

⁵ And they shall speak of the glorious majesty of thy holiness, and recount thy wonders.

⁶ And they shall speak of the power of thy terrible acts; and recount thy greatness.

¹ I praise Yahweh, who is like an overhanging rock under which I ◄ get refuge/am protected►! He trains my hands so that I can use them to fight battles; he trains my fingers so that I can shoot arrows in a war.

² He is the one who protects me; he is like a fortress DOU in which I am safe, he protects me like shields protect soldiers MET, and he gives me refuge. He defeats other nations and then puts them under my power.

³ Yahweh, we people are very insignificant/unimportant, so why ◄are you concerned/do you care about us► RHQ? It is amazing to me that you pay attention to humans.

⁴ The time that we live is as short as SIM a puff of wind; our time to live disappears like a shadow does.

⁵ Yahweh, ◄tear open/open up► the sky and come down! Touch the mountains in order that smoke will pour out from them!

⁶ Cause lightning to flash with the result that your enemies will run away! Shoot your arrows at them and cause them to ◄run away/scatter►.

² He is my strength, and my Rock; my high tower, and my saviour; my keeper and my hope: he gives me authority over my people.

³ Lord, what is man, that you keep him in mind? or the son of man that you take him into account?

⁴ Man is like a breath: his life is like a shade which is quickly gone.

⁵ Come down, O Lord, from your heavens: at your touch let the mountains give out smoke.

⁶ With your storm-flames send them in flight: send out your arrows for their destruction.

¹ I will extol thee, O God my king: and I will bless thy name for ever; yea, for ever and ever.

² Every day I will bless thee: and I will praise thy name for ever; yea, for ever and ever.

³ Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: and of his greatness there is no end.

⁴ Generation and generation shall praise thy works: and they shall declare thy power.

⁵ They shall speak of the magnificence of the glory of thy holiness: and shall tell thy wondrous works.

⁶ And they shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and shall declare thy greatness.

¹ A psalm of David. Praise the Lord—he is my rock. He trains me for battle, he gives me skill for war.

² He is the one who faithfully loves me, protects me, and defends me. He is the one who rescues me, shields me from danger, and keeps me safe. He defeats nations and places them under my rule.

³ Lord, what are human beings that you should care about them? What are people that you should concern yourself with them?

⁴ Humanity is like a breath; their lives are like a passing shadow.

⁵ Part your heavens and come down. Touch the mountains so that they give off smoke.

⁶ Scatter your enemies with flashes of lightning! Let your arrows fly and send them running in confusion!

³ Lord, what is man, that thou takest cognizance of him: the son of a mortal, that thou regardest him!

⁴ Man is like the breath: his days are like a passing shadow.

⁵ O Lord, bend thy heavens, and come down: touch the mountains, that they may smoke.

⁶ Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: send out thy arrows, and confound them.

⁶ Cast forth lightnings, and scatter them; Shoot forth thine arrows, and destroy them!

³ Lord, what are mortals that you care for them, humans, that you think of them?

³ Adonai , what is man, that you care for him? Or the son of man, that you think of him?

⁵ Part your heavens, Adonai , and come down. Touch the mountains, and they will smoke.

² You are my covenant faithfulness and my fortress, my high tower and the one who rescues me, my shield and the one in whom I take refuge, the one who subdues nations under me.

³ Yahweh, what is man that you take notice of him or the son of man that you think about him?

⁴ Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow.

⁵ Cause the sky to sink and come down, Yahweh; touch the mountains and make them smoke.

⁶ Send flashes of lightning and scatter my enemies; shoot your arrows and drive them back in confusion.

⁵ Lord, bow down thine heavens, and come thou down; touch thou the hills, and they shall make smoke.

⁶ Light thou shining, and thou shalt scatter them; send thou out thine arrows, and thou shalt trouble them.

² My mercy, and my refuge; my taker up, and my deliverer. My defender, and I hoped in him; and thou makest subject my people under me. (My mercy, and my refuge; my defender, and my deliverer. Yea, my defender, and in whom I trust; and thou makest the peoples to be subject under me.)

³ Lord, what is a man, for thou hast made (thyself) known to him; either the son of man, for thou areckonest him of some value? (Lord, what is man, that thou hast taken notice of him? or that thou carest for him? or the son of a man, that thou reckonest, or esteemest, him of some value?)

⁴ A man is made like vanity; his days pass as shadow. (A person is but like vanity, yea, but a puff of air; his days pass like a shadow.)

⁵ Lord, bow down thine heavens, and come thou down; touch thou the hills, and they shall make smoke.

⁶ Light thou shining, and thou shalt scatter them, (or Send thou forth thy lightning, and thou shalt scatter thy enemies); send thou out thine arrows, and thou shalt trouble them.

³ Jehovah, what is man that Thou knowest him? Son of man, that Thou esteemest him?

⁴ Man to vanity hath been like, His days are as a shadow passing by.

⁵ Jehovah, incline Thy heavens and come down, Strike against mountains, and they smoke.

⁶ Send forth lightning, and scatter them, Send forth Thine arrows, and trouble them,
