Psalms 142:2-7 in American Standard Version (1901)

2 I pour out my complaint before him; I show before him my trouble.
3 When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, Thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walk Have they hidden a snare for me.
4 Look on my right hand, and see; For there is no man that knoweth me: Refuge hath failed me; No man careth for my soul.
5 I cried unto thee, O Jehovah; I said, Thou art my refuge, My portion in the land of the living.
6 Attend unto my cry; For I am brought very low: Deliver me from my persecutors; For they are stronger than I.
7 Bring my soul out of prison, That I may give thanks unto thy name: The righteous shall compass me about; For thou wilt deal bountifully with me.

Psalms 142:2-7 in Brenton Septuagint Translation

2 And enter not into judgment with thy servant, for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.
3 For the enemy has persecuted my soul; he has brought my life down to the ground; he has made me to dwell in a dark place, as those that have been long dead.
4 Therefore my spirit was grieved in me; my heart was troubled within me.
5 I remembered the days of old; and I meditated on all thy doings: yea, I meditated on the works of thine hands.
6 I spread forth my hands to thee; my soul thirsts for thee, as a dry land. Pause.
7 Hear me speedily, O Lord; my spirit has failed; turn not away thy face from me, else I shall be like to them that go down to the pit.

Psalms 142:2-7 in Translation for Translators

2 I am bringing to you all my problems; I am telling you all my troubles/difficulties.
3 When I am very discouraged, you know what I should do. Wherever I walk, it is as though my enemies have hidden traps for me to fall into.
4 I look around, but there is no one who pays attentionto me, no one who will protect me, no one who cares about what happens to me.
5 So Yahweh, I cry out to you to help me; you are the one who protects me; and you are all that I need while I am alive.
6 Listen to me while I cry out to you for help, because I am very distressed. Rescue/Save me from those who are pursuing me, because they are very strong, with the result that I cannot escape from them.
7 Free/Rescue me from my troubles/difficulties MET in order that I may thank you. If you do that, when I am with godly/righteous people, I will praise you for having been very good to me.

3 While my spirit faileth of me; and thou hast known my paths. In this way in which I went; proud men hid a snare to me.
4 I beheld to the right side, and I saw; and none there was that knew me. Flight perished from me; and none there is that seeketh to help my soul.
5 Lord, I cried to thee; I said, Thou art mine hope; my part in the land of livers.
6 Give thou attention to my beseech-ing; for I am made low full greatly. Deliver thou me from them that pur-sue me; for they be comforted on or over me.
7 Lead my soul out of keeping to acknowledge to thy name; just or rightwise men abide me, till thou yield to me.
