⁴ Incline not my heart to any evil thing, To practise deeds of wickedness With men that work iniquity: And let me not eat of their dainties.

⁵ Let the righteous smite me, it shall be a kindness; And let him reprove me, it shall be as oil upon the head; Let not my head refuse it: For even in their wickedness shall my prayer continue.

⁶ Their judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock; And they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.

⁷ As when one ploweth and cleaveth the earth, Our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol.

⁸ For mine eyes are unto thee, O Jehovah the Lord: In thee do I take refuge; leave not my soul destitute.

⁹ Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me, And from the gins of the workers of iniquity.

⁴ When my spirit was fainting within me, then thou knewest my paths; in the very way wherein I was walking, they hid a snare for me.

⁵ I looked on my right hand, and behold, for there was none that noticed me; refuge failed me; and there was none that cared for my soul.

⁶ I cried unto thee, O Lord, and said, Thou art my hope, my portion in the land of the living.

⁷ Attend to my supplication, for I am brought very low; deliver me from them that persecute me; for they are stronger than I.

⁸ Bring my soul out of prison, that I may give thanks to thy name, O Lord; the righteous shall wait for me, until thou recompense me.

⁴ Prevent me from wanting to do anything that is wrong, and from joining with wicked men when they want to do evil deeds DOU. Do not even allow me to share in eating delightful food with them!

⁵ It is all right if righteous people strike/hit me or rebuke me because they are trying to act kindly toward me to teach me to do what is right, but I do not want wicked people to honor me by anointing my head with olive oil; I am always praying that you will punish them because of the wicked deeds that they do.

⁶ When their rulers are thrown down from the top of rocky cliffs, people will know that what you, Yahweh, said about them is true.

⁷ Like a log that is split and cut into small pieces SIM, their shattered bones will be scattered on the ground near other graves.

⁸ But Yahweh God, I continue to assk you to help me. I ask you to protect me; do not allow me to ◄die/be killed► now!

⁹ It is as though people have set traps for me; protect me from falling into those traps, It is as though they have spread nets to catch me; keep me from being caught in those nets.

⁵ Let the upright give me punishment; and let the god-fearing man put me in the right way; but I will not let the oil of sinners come on my head: when they do evil I will give myself to prayer.

⁶ When destruction comes to their judges by the side of the rock, they will give ear to my words, for they are sweet.

⁷ Our bones are broken up at the mouth of the underworld, as the earth is broken by the plough.

⁸ But my eyes are turned to you, O Lord God: my hope is in you; let not my soul be given up to death.

⁹ Keep me from the net which they have put down for me, and from the designs of the workers of evil.

⁴ Don't let me think about evil things or take part in doing anything wrong with wicked people. I won't join in eating fancy food at their feasts.

⁵ Let a good person punish me in love—let them correct me. It will be like an anointing—I won't refuse it. But I still pray against those who do evil.

⁶ They shall be thrown down by the power of the rock that judges them, and then they will recognize what I said was true!

⁷ Just as the earth is broken up by the plough, so shall their bones be scattered at the mouth of Sheol.

⁸ But I'm looking to you, Lord God, for I find protection in you. Don't let me die!

⁹ Keep me safe from the traps they have set to catch me, from the snares of evil people.

⁴ Incline not mine heart to euill, that I should commit wicked workes with men that worke iniquitie: and let me not eate of their delicates.

⁵ Let the righteous smite me: for that is a benefite: and let him reprooue me, and it shalbe a precious oyle, that shall not breake mine head: for within a while I shall euen pray in their miseries.

⁶ When their iudges shall be cast downe in stonie places, they shall heare my wordes, for they are sweete.

⁷ Our bones lye scattered at the graues mouth, as he that heweth wood or diggeth in the earth.

⁸ But mine eyes looke vnto thee, O Lord God: in thee is my trust: leaue not my soule destitute.

⁹ Keepe me from the snare, which they haue layde for me, and from the grennes of the workers of iniquitie.

⁴ Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to be occupied in deeds of wickedness with men that work iniquity; and let me not eat of their dainties.

⁸ But to thee do my eyes look, O Lord Jehovah! In thee is my trust; Let not my life be poured out!

⁴ Incline not my heart to an evil matter, to busy myself in deeds of wickedness, in company with workers of evil: never may I partake of their dainties.

⁵ A wound or reproof from a good person in kindness is oil which my head shall never refuse. In their misfortune my prayer is still with them.

⁶ Abandoned they are to the hands of their judges: they shall learn that my words are true.

⁴ Do not let my heart desire any evil thing or participate in sinful activities with men who behave wickedly. May I not eat any of their delicacies.

⁵ Let a righteous man hit me; it will be a kindness to me. Let him correct me; it will be like oil on my head; may my head not refuse to accept it. But my prayer is always against their wicked deeds.

⁶ Their leaders will be thrown down from the top of cliffs; they will hear that my own words are pleasant.

⁷ They will have to say, “As when one plows and breaks up the ground, so our bones have been scattered at the mouth of Sheol.”

⁸ Surely my eyes are on you, Yahweh, Lord; in you I take refuge; do not leave my soul defenseless.

⁵ A just or rightwise man shall reprove me in mercy, and he shall blame me; but the oil of a sinner make not fat mine head. For why and yet my prayer is in the well pleasant or well pleased things of them;

⁶ for the doomsmen of them joined to the stone were sopped up. Hear they my words, for they were mighty.

⁷ As fatness is broken out on the earth; our bones be scattered nigh hell.

⁸ Lord, Lord, for mine eyes be to thee, I hoped in thee; take thou not away my soul.

⁹ Keep thou me from the snare which they ordained to me; and from the traps of them that work wickedness.

⁴ Bow thou not down mine heart into words of malice; to excuse excusings in sin. With men working wickedness; and I shall not commune with the chosen men of them. (Help thou me not to turn my heart to words of malice; to make excuses for sins, and for those who do evil. I shall not commune with their chosen ones or I shall not feast with their chosen ones.)

⁵ A just man shall reprove me in mercy, and he shall blame me; but the oil of a sinner make not fat mine head. For why and yet my prayer is in the well pleasant things of them; (The righteous shall rebuke me in love, and they shall reproach me; but my head shall not be anointed with the oil of sinners. For my prayer is still against what is pleasing to them.)

⁶ for the doomsmen of them joined to the stone were sopped up. Hear they my words, for they were mighty. (And when their judges shall be thrown down from stony places, then the people shall listen to my words; for they be true.)

⁷ As fatness is broken out on the earth; our bones be scattered nigh hell. (As wood chopped into pieces lieth on the ground; so their bones shall be scattered nigh to Sheol or close to the grave.)

⁸ Lord, Lord, for mine eyes be to thee, I hoped in thee; take thou not away my soul. (Lord, Lord, I fix my eyes upon thee, and I put my trust in thee; do not let me die!)

⁹ Keep thou me from the snare which they ordained to me; and from the traps of them that work wickedness. (Keep thou me safe from the snare which they have set for me; yea, from the traps of those who do evil.)

⁴ Incline not my heart to an evil thing, To do habitually actions in wickedness, With men working iniquity, Yea, I eat not of their pleasant things.

⁵ The righteous doth beat me in kindness. And doth reprove me, Oil of the head my head disalloweth not, For still my prayer is about their vexations.

⁶ Their judges have been released by the sides of a rock, And they have heard my sayings, For they have been pleasant.

⁷ As one tilling and ripping up in the land, Have our bones been scattered at the command of Saul.

⁸ But to Thee, O Jehovah, my Lord, are mine eyes, In Thee I have trusted, Make not bare my soul.
