⁴ For Jehovah hath chosen Jacob unto himself, And Israel for his own possession.

⁵ For I know that Jehovah is great, And that our Lord is above all gods.

⁶ Whatsoever Jehovah pleased, that hath he done, In heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps;

⁷ Who causeth the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; Who maketh lightnings for the rain; Who bringeth forth the wind out of his treasuries;

⁸ Who smote the first-born of Egypt, Both of man and beast;

⁹ Who sent signs and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, Upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants;

¹⁰ Who smote many nations, And slew mighty kings,

¹¹ Sihon king of the Amorites, And Og king of Bashan, And all the kingdoms of Canaan,

¹² And gave their land for a heritage, A heritage unto Israel his people.

¹³ Thy name, O Jehovah, endureth for ever; Thy memorial name, O Jehovah, throughout all generations.

¹⁴ For Jehovah will judge his people, And repent himself concerning his servants.

¹⁵ The idols of the nations are silver and gold, The work of men’s hands.

¹⁶ They have mouths, but they speak not; Eyes have they, but they see not;

¹⁷ They have ears, but they hear not; Neither is there any breath in their mouths.

¹⁸ They that make them shall be like unto them; Yea, every one that trusteth in them.

⁴ He has chosen us, the descendants of Jacob; he has chosen us Israelis to belong to him DOU.

⁵ I know that Yahweh is great; he is greater than all the gods.

⁶ Yahweh does whatever he desires to do, in heaven and on the earth and in the seas/oceans, down to the bottom of the seas.

⁷ He is the one who causes clouds to appear from very distant places on the earth; he sends lightning with the rain, and he brings the winds from the places where he stores them.

⁸ He is the one who killed all the firstborn males in Egypt, the firstborn of people and of animals.

⁹ There he performed many kinds of miracles DOU to punish the king and all his officials.

¹⁰ He destroyed many nations and the powerful kings who ruled them:

¹¹ Sihon, the king of the Amor people-group, and Og, the king of Bashan region, and all the other kings in Canaan land.

¹² Then he gave their land to us Israeli people to belong to us forever.

¹³ Yahweh your name will endure forever, and people who are not yet born will remember the great things that you have done.

¹⁴ Yahweh, you declare that we your people ◄are innocent/have not done things that are wrong►, and you are merciful to us.

¹⁵ But the idols that the other people-groups worship are only statues made of silver and gold, things that humans have made.

¹⁶ Their idols have mouths, but they cannot say anything; they have eyes, but they cannot see anything.

¹⁷ They have ears, but they cannot hear anything, and they are not even able to breathe.

¹⁸ The people who make those idols are as powerless as those idols, and those who trust in those idols can accomplish no more than their idols can!

¹⁹ My fellow Israelis, praise Yahweh! You priests who are descended from Aaron, praise Yahweh!

²⁰ You men who are descended from Levi, you who assist the priests, praise Yahweh! All you who revere Yahweh, praise him!

²¹ Praise Yahweh in the temple on Zion Hill in Jerusalem, where he lives! Praise Yahweh!

¹⁰ He struck down many nations, he killed powerful kings, such as

¹¹ Sihon, king of the Amorites, Og, king of Bashan, and all the kings who ruled in Canaan.

¹² He handed over their lands to Israel, his special people, for them to possess.

¹³ Your reputation, Lord, stands forever; you, Lord, are remembered for all generations.

¹⁴ The Lord will vindicate his people; he will show compassion to those who follow him.

¹⁵ The idols of the foreign nations are only objects of silver and gold, made by human hands.

¹⁶ They have mouths, but can't speak; they have eyes, but can't see.

¹⁷ They have ears, but can't hear; they can't even breathe!

¹⁸ Those who make idols will become just like them, and so will everyone who trusts in them.

¹⁹ People of Israel, praise the Lord! Descendants of Aaron, praise the Lord!

²⁰ Levites, praise the Lord! Everyone who worships the Lord, praise the Lord!

²¹ Praise the Lord from Zion, for he lives in Jerusalem! Praise the Lord!

¹⁰ Who smote many nations, and slew strong kings,

¹¹ Even Sihon king of the Amorite, And Og king of Bashan, And all kingdoms of Canaan.

¹² And He gave their land an inheritance, An inheritance to Israel His people,

¹³ O Jehovah, Thy name is to the age, O Jehovah, Thy memorial to all generations.

¹⁴ For Jehovah doth judge His people, And for His servants comforteth Himself.

¹⁵ The idols of the nations are silver and gold, Work of the hands of man.

¹⁶ A mouth they have, and they speak not, Eyes they have, and they see not,

¹⁷ Ears they have, and they give not ear, Nose — there is no breath in their mouth!

¹⁸ Like them are their makers, Every one who is trusting in them.

¹⁹ O house of Israel, bless ye Jehovah, O house of Aaron, bless ye Jehovah,

²⁰ O house of Levi, bless ye Jehovah, Those fearing Jehovah, bless ye Jehovah.
