⁶ Lo, we heard of it in Ephrathah: We found it in the field of the wood.

⁷ We will go into his tabernacles; We will worship at his footstool.

⁸ Arise, O Jehovah, into thy resting-place; Thou, and the ark of thy strength.

⁹ Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; And let thy saints shout for joy.

¹⁰ For thy servant David’s sake Turn not away the face of thine anointed.

¹¹ Jehovah hath sworn unto David in truth; He will not turn from it: Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.

¹² If thy children will keep my covenant And my testimony that I shall teach them, Their children also shall sit upon thy throne for evermore.

¹³ For Jehovah hath chosen Zion; He hath desired it for his habitation.

¹⁴ This is my resting-place for ever: Here will I dwell; for I have desired it.

¹⁵ I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread.

¹⁶ Her priests also will I clothe with salvation; And her saints shall shout aloud for joy.

⁶ In Bethlehem we heard news about the sacred chest. We went and found it in the fields of Jearim city, and we took it to Jerusalem.

⁷ Later we said, “Let's go to the temple of Yahweh in Jerusalem; let's worship there in front of the throne where he sits.”

⁸ Yahweh, come to the place where you live eternally, to the place where your sacred chest is, to that place that shows that you are very powerful.

⁹ I want/desire that the righteous behavior of your priests will always be evident, just like the beautiful robes that they wear MET, and that your people will always shout joyfully.

¹⁰ You chose David to serve you as king of Israel; do not reject/abandon him!

¹¹ Yahweh, you made a solemn promise to David, a promise that you will not break. You said, “I will cause your descendants to rule MTY as kings like you.

¹² If they keep my agreement with them and obey all the commands that I will give them, the line of kings descended from you will never end.”

¹³ Yahweh has chosen Jerusalem; he has wanted to make that city his home;

¹⁴ he said, “This is the city where I will live forever DOU; this is the place where I wanted to stay.

¹⁵ I will give to the people of Jerusalem all that they need; I will give enough food even to satisfy the poor people there.

¹⁶ I will cause the priests to behave in a manner worthy of being ones whom I have saved; that will be as evident as the beautiful robes that they wear MET; and all my people who live there will shout joyfully.

¹⁷ There in Jerusalem I will cause one of David's descendants MET to become a great king; he also will be my chosen king, and he will be like a bright lamp MET that shines continually.

¹⁸ I will defeat his enemies and cause them to be very ashamed/disgraced; but the crown that my king wears will always shine.”

¹⁰ Because of your servant David, do not give up your king.

¹¹ The Lord gave a true oath to David, which he will not take back, saying, I will give your kingdom to the fruit of your body.

¹² If your children keep my word, and the teachings which I will give them, their children will be rulers of your kingdom for ever.

¹³ For the Lord's heart is on Zion, desiring it for his resting-place.

¹⁴ This is my rest for ever: here will I ever be; for this is my desire.

¹⁵ My blessing will be on her food; and her poor will be full of bread.

¹⁶ Her priests will be clothed with salvation; and her saints will give cries of joy.

¹⁷ There I will make the horn of David fertile: I have made ready a light for my king.

¹⁸ His haters will be clothed with shame; but I will make his crown shining.

⁷ Let us go into his habitations, let us worship at his footstool.

¹⁸ His enemies will I clothe with shame; but upon himself shall his crown flourish.

⁶ In Ephrathah we received information about the Ark of Agreement, and we found it in fields near Jaar.

⁷ Let's go to the place where the Lord lives and bow down at his feet in worship.

⁸ Come, Lord, and enter your home, together with your Ark of your power.

⁹ May your priests wear goodness like clothing; may your faithful people shout for joy.

¹⁰ For the sake of your servant David, don't reject the king you have chosen.

¹¹ The Lord made a solemn promise to David, one he will never cancel—“I will put one of your descendants on your throne.

¹² If your sons keep to my agreement and my laws that I will teach them, then their sons will always occupy your throne.”

¹³ For the Lord has chosen Zion, wanting to make his home there, saying:

¹⁴ “This will always be my home; this is where I want to live.

¹⁵ I will provide the people of the city with all they need; I will feed the poor.

¹⁶ I will clothe its priests with salvation; and its faithful people will shout for joy.

¹⁷ I will make the line of David even more powerful. I have prepared a lamp for my chosen king.

¹⁸ I will humiliate his enemies, but the crown he wears will shine brightly.”

⁶ Lo, we heard of it in Ephrathah, and found it in the fieldes of the forest.

⁷ We will enter into his Tabernacles, and worship before his footestoole.

⁸ Arise, O Lord, to come into thy rest, thou, and the Arke of thy strength.

⁹ Let thy Priests be clothed with righteousnesse, and let thy Saints reioyce.

¹⁰ For thy seruant Dauids sake refuse not the face of thine Anointed.

¹¹ The Lord hath sworne in trueth vnto Dauid, and he wil not shrinke from it, saying, Of the fruite of thy body will I set vpon thy throne.

¹² If thy sonnes keepe my couenant, and my testimonies, that I shall teach them, their sonnes also shall sit vpon thy throne for euer.

¹³ For the Lord hath chosen Zion, and loued to dwell in it, saying,

¹⁴ This is my rest for euer: here will I dwell, for I haue a delite therein.

¹⁵ I will surely blesse her vitailes, and will satisfie her poore with bread,

¹⁶ And will clothe her Priests with saluation, and her Saints shall shoute for ioye.

¹⁷ There will I make the horne of Dauid to bud: for I haue ordeined a light for mine Anoynted.

¹⁸ His enemies will I clothe with shame, but on him his crowne shall florish.

⁷ Let us go into His dwelling-place; let us worship at His footstool.

⁸ Arise, O LORD, unto Thy resting-place; Thou, and the ark of Thy strength.

¹⁰ For Thy servant David's sake turn not away the face of Thine anointed.

¹¹ The LORD swore unto David in truth; He will not turn back from it: 'Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.

¹² If thy children keep My covenant and My testimony that I shall teach them, their children also for ever shall sit upon thy throne.'

¹³ For the LORD hath chosen Zion; He hath desired it for His habitation:

¹⁴ 'This is My resting-place for ever; here will I dwell; for I have desired it.

¹⁵ I will abundantly bless her provision; I will give her needy bread in plenty.

¹¹ The Lord hath sworn unto David in truth; he will not turn from it: “From the fruit of thy body will I set some one on the throne to succeed thee.

¹² If thy children will observe my covenant and this my testimony which I teach them: then also shall their children sit for evermore upon the throne to succeed thee.”

¹³ For the Lord hath made choice of Zion: he hath desired it as a habitation for himself.

¹⁴ This is my resting-place for evermore: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.

¹⁵ Her provision will I bless abundantly: her needy ones will I satisfy with bread.

¹⁶ And her priests will I clothe with salvation: and her pious ones shall shout aloud for joy.

¹² If thy children keep my covenant, And my statutes, which I teach them, Their children also throughout all ages Shall sit upon thy throne.”

¹³ For Jehovah hath chosen Zion; He hath desired it as his dwelling-place.

¹⁴ “This is my resting-place for ever; Here will I dwell, for I have chosen it.

¹⁵ I will abundantly bless her provision; I will satisfy her poor with bread.

¹⁶ I will also clothe her priests with salvation, And her holy ones shall shout aloud for joy.

¹⁷ There will I cause to spring forth a horn for David; I have prepared a light for mine anointed.

¹⁸ His enemies will I clothe with shame, And the crown shall glitter upon his head.”

¹⁰ For the sake of David your servant, do not reject your Anointed.”

¹¹ The Lord swore an oath to David an oath that he will not break; “I will set on your throne a prince of your line.

¹² If your sons keep my covenant and the statutes I teach them, then their sons, too, forever, will sit on your throne.”

¹³ For the choice of the Lord is Zion; she is the home of his heart.

¹⁴ “This is forever my resting-place, this is the home of my heart.

¹⁵ I will royally bless her provision, and give bread to her poor in abundance.

¹⁶ Her priests I will clothe with salvation; her faithful will shout for joy.

¹⁷ There will I raise up for David a dynasty of power. I have set my anointed a lamp that shall never go out.

¹⁸ Robes of shame I will put on his foes, but on his head a glittering crown.”

¹⁰ For your servant David Beloved’s sake, don’t turn away the face of your anointed one.

¹¹ Adonai has sworn to David Beloved in truth. He will not turn from it: “I will set the fruit of your body on your throne.

¹² If your children will keep my covenant ·binding contract between two or more parties·, my testimony that I will teach them, their children also will sit on your throne forever more.”

¹³ For Adonai has chosen Zion Mountain ridge, Marking. He has desired it for his habitation.

¹¹ Yahweh swore a sure oath to David, a sure oath that he will not revoke: “I will place one of your descendants on your throne.

¹² If your sons keep my covenant and the laws that I will teach them, their children also will sit on your throne forevermore.”

¹³ Certainly Yahweh has chosen Zion, he has desired her for his seat.

¹⁴ “This is my resting place forever. I will live here, for I desire her.

⁹ Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.

¹⁰ For thy servant David's sake turn not away the face of thy anointed.

¹¹ The LORD hath sworn in truth to David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.

¹² If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them; their children also shall sit upon thy throne for ever.

¹³ For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation.

¹⁴ This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.

¹⁵ I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread.

¹⁶ I will also clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.

¹⁷ There will I make the horn of David to bud, I have ordained a lamp for my anointed.

¹⁸ His enemies will I clothe with shame: but upon himself shall his crown flourish.

⁶ Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah. We found it in the field of Jaar.

⁷ “We will go into his dwelling place. We will worship at his footstool.”

⁸ Arise, LORD, into your resting place, you, and the ark of your strength.

⁸ Lord, rise thou into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thine hallowing.

¹⁰ For David, thy servant; turn thou not away the face of thy christ.

¹¹ The Lord swore in truth to David, and he shall not make him in vain; Of the fruit of thy womb I shall set on thy seat.

¹² If thy sons shall keep my testament; and my witnessings, these which I shall teach them. And the sons of them till into the world; they shall set on thy seat.

¹³ For the Lord chose Zion; he chose it into a dwelling to himself.

¹⁴ This is my rest into the world of world; I shall dwell here, for I chose it.

¹⁵ I blessing shall bless the widow of it; I shall ful fill with loaves the poor men of it.

¹⁶ I shall clothe with health the priests thereof; and the holy men thereof shall make full out joy in full out joying or rejoicing.

¹⁷ Thither I shall bring forth the horn of David; I have made ready a lantern to my christ.

¹⁸ I shall clothe his enemies with shame; but mine hallowing shall flower out on him.

⁶ Lo! we heard that (the) ark of (the) testament (is) in Ephratah, or Lo! we have heard (of) it in Ephratah; we found it in the fields of the wood. (Behold! we have heard that the Covenant Box is in Ephratah; we found it in the fields of Jaar, (or of Jearim).)

⁷ We shall enter into the tabernacle of him (or We shall go into his Tabernacle, or his dwelling place); we shall worship in the place, where his feet stood.

⁸ Lord, rise thou into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thine hallowing. (Arise, O Lord, and come back to thy resting place; thou, and the Ark of thy power.)

¹⁰ For David, thy servant; turn thou not away the face of thy christ. (For the sake of thy servant David; turn thou not away thy face from thy anointed king.)

¹¹ The Lord swore (in) truth to David, and he shall not make him in vain; Of the fruit of thy womb I shall set on thy seat. (The Lord swore truthfully to David, and he did not say in vain, I shall put the fruit of thy womb upon thy throne.)

¹² If thy sons shall keep my testament; and my witnessings, these which I shall teach them. And the sons of them till into the world; they shall set on thy seat. (And if thy sons shall keep my covenant, and obey my teachings, which I shall teach them; then their sons shall sit on thy throne forever.)

¹³ For the Lord chose Zion; he chose it into (a) dwelling to himself (or he chose it for his dwelling place).

¹⁴ This is my rest into the world of world (or This shall be my resting place forever and ever); I shall dwell here, for I chose it.

¹⁵ I blessing shall bless the widow of it; I shall ful fill with loaves the poor men of it. (I blessing shall blessZion’s widows; and I shall fulfill her poor with bread.)

¹⁶ I shall clothe with health the priests thereof; and the holy men thereof shall make full out joy in full out joying/in full out rejoicing. (I shall clothe her priests with salvation, or with deliverance; and her holy men shall make great joy rejoicing.)

¹⁷ Thither I shall bring forth the horn of David; I have made ready a lantern to my christ (or I have prepared a lantern for my anointed king).

¹⁸ I shall clothe his enemies with shame; but mine hallowing shall flower out on him (or but a shining crown shall be upon his head).

⁶ 'Lo, we have heard it in Ephratah, We have found it in the fields of the forest.

⁷ We come in to His tabernacles, We bow ourselves at His footstool.

⁸ Arise, O Jehovah, to Thy rest, Thou, and the ark of Thy strength,

⁹ Thy priests do put on righteousness, And Thy pious ones cry aloud.

¹⁰ For the sake of David Thy servant, Turn not back the face of Thine anointed.

¹¹ Jehovah hath sworn truth to David, He turneth not back from it: Of the fruit of thy body, I set on the throne for thee.

¹² If thy sons keep My covenant, And My testimonies that I teach them, Their sons also for ever and ever, Do sit on the throne for thee.

¹³ For Jehovah hath fixed on Zion, He hath desired it for a seat to Himself,

¹⁴ This is My rest for ever and ever, Here do I sit, for I have desired it.

¹⁵ Her provision I greatly bless, Her needy ones I satisfy with bread,

¹⁶ And her priests I clothe with salvation, And her pious ones do sing aloud.

¹⁷ There I cause to spring up a horn for David, I have arranged a lamp for Mine anointed.

¹⁸ His enemies I do clothe with shame, And upon him doth his crown flourish!
