Psalms 131:1-2 in English

¹ A Song of Ascents; of David. Jehovah, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty; Neither do I exercise myself in great matters, Or in things too wonderful for me.

² Surely I have stilled and quieted my soul; Like a weaned child with his mother, Like a weaned child is my soul within me.

¹ A Song of Degrees. Lord, remember David, and all his meekness:

² how he sware to the Lord, and vowed to the God of Jacob, saying,

¹ A Song of degrees of David. LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.

² Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child.

² Surely I have stilled and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with his mother, my soul is with me like a weaned child.

¹ Yahweh, I am not proud and I have not thought highly about ◄myself/the things that I have done►. And I do not concern myself about things that you have done that are very big or very wonderful.

² Instead, I am calm and peaceful, like a small child who lies quietly in its mother's arms SIM. In the same way, I am peaceful .

² If I feeled not meekly; but I enhanced my soul. As a child weaned on his mother; so yielding be in my soul. (I went forth humbly; and I did not exalt my soul. Like a weaned child upon his mother; so is the yielding in my soul.)
