² They speak falsehood every one with his neighbor: With flattering lip, and with a double heart, do they speak.

³ Jehovah will cut off all flattering lips, The tongue that speaketh great things;

⁴ Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; Our lips are our own: who is lord over us?

⁵ Because of the oppression of the poor, because of the sighing of the needy, Now will I arise, saith Jehovah; I will set him in the safety he panteth for.

² How long, O Lord, wilt thou forget me? for ever? how long wilt thou turn away thy face from me?

³ How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrows in my heart daily? how long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

⁴ Look on me, hearken to me, O Lord my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep in death;

⁵ lest at any time mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him: my persecutors will exult if ever I should be moved.

² Everyone tells lies to other people; they deceive others by ◄flattering them/saying good things about them that they know are not true►.

³ Yahweh, we wish that you would cut off their tongues so that they cannot continue to boast.

⁴ They say, “By telling lies we will get what we want; we control what we say MTY, so no one can tell us what we should not do!”

⁵ But Yahweh replies, “I have seen the violent things that they have done to helpless people; and I have heard those people groaning, so I will arise and rescue the people who are wanting me to help them.”

² How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrows in my heart daily? how long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

³ Look on me, listen to me, O Lord my God: lighten my eyes, lest I sleep in death;

⁴ lest at any time my enemy say, I have prevailed against him: my persecutors will exult if ever I should be moved.

² Everyone says false words to his neighbour: their tongues are smooth in their talk, and their hearts are full of deceit.

³ The smooth lips and the tongue of pride will be cut off by the Lord.

⁴ They have said, With our tongues will we overcome; our lips are ours: who is lord over us?

⁵ Because of the crushing of the poor and the weeping of those in need, now will I come to his help, says the Lord; I will give him the salvation which he is desiring.

⁴ Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail, our lips are our own: who is lord over us?

⁵ Because of the oppression of the afflicted, because of the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith Jehovah, I will set him in safety, at whom they puff.

² How long shall I take counsels in my soul, sorrow in my heart all the day?

³ How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

⁴ Consider, and hear me, O Lord my God. Enlighten my eyes that I never sleep in death:

⁵ Lest at any time my enemy say: I have prevailed against him. They that trouble me will rejoice when I am moved:

² Everyone lies to their neighbors. They flatter with nice talk, but they don't mean what they say.

³ Stop their flattery, Lord, and silence their boasts—

⁴ these people who say, “We will succeed through what we say; our mouths belong to us. We don't take orders from anyone!”

⁵ “Because of the violence the helpless have suffered, and because of the groans of the poor, I will rise up to defend them,” says the Lord. “I will give them the protection they have been longing for.”

² They speake deceitfully euery one with his neighbour, flattering with their lips, and speake with a double heart.

³ The Lord cut off all flattering lippes, and the tongue that speaketh proude things:

⁴ Which haue saide, With our tongue will we preuaile: our lippes are our owne: who is Lord ouer vs?

⁵ Now for the oppression of the needy, and for the sighes of the poore, I will vp, sayeth the Lord, and will set at libertie him, whom the wicked hath snared.

³ (12-4) May the LORD cut off all flattering lips, the tongue that speaketh proud things!

⁴ (12-5) Who have said: 'Our tongue will we make mighty; our lips are with us: who is lord over us?'

⁵ (12-6) 'For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise', saith the LORD; 'I will set him in safety at whom they puff.'

² They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: With flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.

³ The Lord shall cut off all flattering lips, And the tongue that speaketh proud things:

² (12:3) Deceptively do they speak every one with his neighbor, with flattering lips, with a double heart do they speak.

³ (12:4) May the Lord cut off all flattering lips, the tongue that speaketh boastful things:

⁴ (12:5) Who have said, With our tongue will we be mighty; our lips are with us; who is Lord over us!

⁵ (12:6) Because of the oppression of the poor, because of the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the Lord: I will grant safety to him for whom the other layeth a snare.

² How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrows in my heart daily? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

³ Look on me, hearken to me, O Lord my God: Lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep in death;

⁴ Lest at any time mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him: My persecutors will exult if ever I should be moved.

⁵ But I have hoped in thy mercy; My heart shall exult in thy salvation.

² They speak falsehood one to another; With flattering lips, with a double heart, do they speak.

³ May the LORD destroy all flattering lips, And the tongue which speaketh proud things!

⁴ Who say, “With our tongues will we prevail; Our lips are our reliance; Who is lord over us?”

⁵ For the oppression of the poor and the sighing of the wretched, Now will I stand up, saith the LORD; I will set in safety him whom they puff at.

² One lies to another, speaking empty lies, with flattering lips and false hearts they speak.

³ May the Lord cut off all the flattering lips, and the tongue that utters arrogance,

⁴ they declare, “Our tongue is our strength, our allies our lips: who is lord over us?”

⁵ “The poor are despoiled, and the needy are sighing; so now I will act,” the Lord declares “And place them in the safety they long for.”

² One lies to another, speaking empty lies, with flattering lips and false hearts they speak.

³ May the Lord cut off all the flattering lips, and the tongue that utters arrogance,

⁴ they declare, “Our tongue is our strength, our allies our lips: who is lord over us?”

⁵ “The poor are despoiled, and the needy are sighing; so now I will act,” the Lord declares “And place them in the safety they long for.”

² Everyone lies to his neighbor. They speak with flattering lips, and with a double heart.

³ May Adonai cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that boasts,

⁴ who have said, “With our tongue we will prevail. Our lips are our own. Who is lord over us?”

⁵ “Because of the oppression of the weak and because of the groaning of the needy, I will now arise,” says Adonai ; “I will set him in yesha' ·salvation· far from those who malign him.”

² Everyone says empty words to his neighbor; everyone speaks with flattering lips and a double heart.

³ Yahweh, cut off all flattering lips, every tongue declaring great things.

⁴ These are those who have said, “With our tongues will we prevail. When our lips speak, who can be master over us?”

⁵ “Because of violence against the poor, because of the groans of the needy, I will arise,” says Yahweh. “I will provide the safety for which they long.”

² Everyone lies to his neighbor. They speak with flattering lips, and with a double heart.

³ May Yahweh cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that boasts,

⁴ who have said, “With our tongue we will prevail. Our lips are our own. Who is lord over us?”

² They spake vain things, each man to his neighbour; and they having guileful lips, spake in their heart, and with their heart.

³ The Lord destroy all guileful lips; and the great speaking tongue.

⁴ Which said, We shall magnify with our tongue, our lips be of us-selves; who else is our lord?

⁵ For the wretchedness of needy men, and for the wailing of poor men; now I shall rise up, saith the Lord. I shall set him in health; I shall do trustily in him.

² They spake vain things, each man to his neighbour; and they having guileful lips, spake in their heart, and with their heart. (They spoke lies, each man to his neighbour; yea, they having deceitful lips, spoke with a double heart.)

³ The Lord destroy all guileful lips; and the great speaking tongue. (May the Lord destroy all deceitful, or lying, lips; and the tongues that speak so proudly, or so boastfully.)

⁴ Which said, We shall magnify (with) our tongue, our lips be of us-selves; who (else) is our lord? (They who say, We shall gain victory with our tongues, for our lips be our own; who else is lord over us?)

⁵ For the wretchedness of needy men, and for the wailing of poor men; now I shall rise up, saith the Lord. I shall set (him) in health; I shall do trustily in him. (Because of the wretchedness of the needy, and the wailing of the poor, I shall now rise up, saith the Lord. I shall place them in safety; I shall do trustily for them.)

² Vanity they speak each with his neighbour, Lip of flattery! With heart and heart they speak.

³ Jehovah doth cut off all lips of flattery, A tongue speaking great things,

⁴ Who said, 'By our tongue we do mightily: Our lips are our own; who is lord over us?'

⁵ Because of the spoiling of the poor, Because of the groaning of the needy, Now do I arise, saith Jehovah, I set in safety him who doth breathe for it.
