Psalms 125:1-5 in English

¹ A Song of Ascents. They that trust in Jehovah Are as mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abideth for ever.

² As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, So Jehovah is round about his people From this time forth and for evermore.

³ For the sceptre of wickedness shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; That the righteous put not forth their hands unto iniquity.

⁴ Do good, O Jehovah, unto those that are good, And to them that are upright in their hearts.

⁵ But as for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, Jehovah will lead them forth with the workers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel.

² Then was our mouth filled with joy, and our tongue with exultation: then would they say among the Gentiles,

³ The Lord has done great things among them. The Lord has done great things for us, we became joyful.

⁴ Turn, O Lord, our captivity, as the streams in the south.

⁵ They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

¹ Those/We who trust in Yahweh are as secure/steadfast SIM as Zion Hill, which cannot be shaken and can never be moved.

² Like the hills that surround Jerusalem protect the city, Yahweh protects us, his people, and he will protect us forever.

³ Wicked people MTY should not be allowed to rule over the land where righteous people live. If they did that, those righteous people might ◄be encouraged to imitate them and► do things that are wrong.

⁴ Yahweh, do good things to those who do good things to others and to those who sincerely obey your commands IDM.

⁵ But when you punish the wicked people who are not Israelis, also punish those Israelis who turn away from walking on the good roads MET that you have shown them! I wish that things will go well for people in Israel!

⁴ Do good, O Lord, to those who are good, and to those who are upright in heart.

⁵ But as for such as are turned out of the straight way, the Lord will take them away with the workers of evil. Let peace be on Israel.

¹ A song for pilgrims going up to Jerusalem. Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, for it is unshakeable and endures forever.

² In the same way that the mountains surround Jerusalem, the Lord surrounds his people, now and forever.

³ The wicked will not always rule over the land of the faithful, otherwise the faithful might also end up doing wrong.

⁴ Lord, please do good to those who do good, those who sincerely do what is right.

⁵ But as for those who turn aside to follow their own crooked ways—those the Lord will lead them away together with those who do evil. May Israel be at peace!

⁵ But these that turne aside by their crooked wayes, them shall the Lord leade with the workers of iniquitie: but peace shalbe vpon Israel.

³ For the sceptre of the wicked shall not remain upon the portion of the righteous, Lest the righteous put forth their hands to iniquity.

⁴ Do good, O LORD! to the good, To them that are upright in heart!

⁵ But such as turn aside to their crooked ways,-May the LORD destroy them with the evil-doers! Peace be to Israel!

² Hills be in the compass of it, and the Lord is in the compass of his people; from this time now, and into the world. (Like the mountains, or the hills, be all around Jerusalem, so the Lord is all around his people; from this time now, and forever.)

³ For the Lord shall not leave the rod of sinners on the part of just men; that just men hold not forth their hands to wickedness. (For the rod of the sinners shall not remain over the land of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands to wickedness.)

⁴ Lord, do thou well to good men; and to rightful in heart. (Lord, do thou good to good people; yea, to those with an upright heart.)

⁵ But the Lord shall lead them that bow into obligations, with them that work wickedness; peace be upon Israel. (But may the Lord lead forth those, who turn aside into depraved ways, with those who do evil. May peace be upon Israel.)

⁴ Do good, O Jehovah, to the good, And to the upright in their hearts.

⁵ As to those turning to their crooked ways, Jehovah causeth them to go with workers of iniquity. Peace on Israel!
