⁷⁸ Let the proud be put to shame; for they have overthrown me wrongfully: But I will meditate on thy precepts.

⁸¹ My soul fainteth for thy salvation; But I hope in thy word.

⁸³ For I am become like a wine-skin in the smoke; Yet do I not forget thy statutes.

⁸⁴ How many are the days of thy servant? When wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me?

⁸⁵ The proud have digged pits for me, Who are not according to thy law.

⁸⁶ All thy commandments are faithful: They persecute me wrongfully; help thou me.

⁸⁷ They had almost consumed me upon earth; But I forsook not thy precepts.

⁸¹ I am very tired/exhausted while I wait for you to save me from my enemies; but I confidently expect that you will tell me what you will do.

⁸² My eyes are tired from waiting a long time for you to do what you promised/said that you would do, and I ask, “When will you help/encourage me?”

⁸³ I have become as useless as MET a wineskin that is shriveled from hanging a long time in the smoke inside a house, but I have not forgotten ◄your statutes/what you have decreed that we should do►.

⁸⁴ How long must I wait? When will you punish those who ◄persecute/cause trouble for► me?

⁸⁵ It is as though proud people have dug deep pits for me to fall into, people who do not obey your laws.

⁸⁶ All ◄your commands are/what you have commanded is► trustworthy; but people are ◄persecuting/causing trouble for► me by telling lies about me, so please help me!

⁸⁷ Those people have almost killed me, but I have not stopped obeying ◄your principles of behavior/what you have declared that we should do►.

⁸⁸ Because you faithfully love me, allow me to continue to live in order that I may continue to obey ◄your rules/what you have instructed us to do►.

⁸⁹ Yahweh, your words will last forever; they will last as long as heaven lasts.

⁹⁰ You will faithfully continue doing ◄ for people who are not yet born/in every generation► what you have ◄promised/said that you would do►; you have put the earth in its place, and it remains firmly there.

⁹¹ To this day, all things on the earth remain because you decided that they should remain; everything on the earth serves you.

⁸⁸ Give me life in your mercy; so that I may be ruled by the unchanging word of your mouth.

⁹⁰ Your faith is unchanging from generation to generation: you have put the earth in its place, and it is not moved.

⁸⁴ How long do I have to wait before you punish my persecutors?

⁸⁵ These arrogant people have dug pits to trap me, these people who don't care anything about your law.

⁸⁶ All your commands are trustworthy. Help me against these people who persecute me with their lies!

⁸⁷ They have almost killed me, but I have not given up on what you say.

⁸⁸ Since you love me with your trustworthy love, don't let me die, so I can go on following the instructions you have given.

⁸⁵ Wicked men told to me janglings; but not as thy law.

⁸⁶ All thy commandments be truth; wicked men have pursued me, help thou me.

⁸⁷ Almost they ended me in the earth; but I forsook not thy command-ments.

⁸⁸ By thy mercy quicken thou me; and I shall keep the witnessings of thy mouth.

⁹⁰ Thy truth dwelleth in generation, and into generation; thou hast founded the earth, and it dwelleth.

⁹¹ The day lasteth continually by thy ordinances; for all things serve to thee.

⁸¹ Caph. My soul failed into thine health; and I hoped more in thy word. (My soul fainteth waiting for thy salvation, or thy deliverance; but still I trust in thy word.)

⁸² Mine eyes failed into thy speech; saying, When shalt thou comfort me? (My eyes fail waiting for thy word; and so I ask, When shalt thou comfort me?)

⁸³ For I am made as a bouget, (or a bottle,) in frost; (yet) I have not forgotten thy justifyings. (For I am shriveled up, like a wineskin in the smoke; but I have not forgotten thy statutes.)

⁸⁴ How many be the days of thy servant; when thou shalt make doom of them that pursue me? (How many days must thy servant wait? when shalt thou bring judgement upon those who persecute me?)

⁸⁵ Wicked men told to me janglings; but (they be) not as thy law. (The wicked gossiped about me; and they do not obey thy Law.)

⁸⁶ All thy commandments be truth; wicked men have pursued me, help thou me. (All thy commandments (be) faithful or (be) trustworthy, (and shall stand forever); the wicked persecute me, help thou me!)

⁸⁷ Almost they ended me in the earth; but I forsook not thy commandments. (Yea, they almost brought me to an end here on the earth; but I did not forsake thy precepts.)

⁸⁸ By thy mercy quicken thou me; and I shall keep the witnessings of thy mouth. (In thy mercy or In thy love, grant thou me life; so that I can obey the teachings from thy mouth.)

⁸⁹ Lamed. Lord, thy word dwelleth in heaven; into without end. (Lord, thy word remaineth, or liveth, in heaven, forever.)

⁹⁰ Thy truth dwelleth in generation, and into generation; thou hast founded the earth, and it dwelleth. (Thy faithfulness remaineth for all generations; thou hast founded the earth, and it still remaineth.)

⁹¹ The day lasteth continually by thy ordinance(s); for all things serve to thee. (All things continue to this day according to thy ordinances; for all things serve thee./Thy ordinances, or thy decrees, continue to this day; for all things serve thee.)

⁷⁸ Ashamed are the proud, For with falsehood they dealt perversely with me. I meditate in Thy precepts.
