¹ Doth not wisdom cry, And understanding put forth her voice?

² On the top of high places by the way, Where the paths meet, she standeth;

³ Beside the gates, at the entry of the city, At the coming in at the doors, she crieth aloud:

⁴ Unto you, O men, I call; And my voice is to the sons of men.

⁵ O ye simple, understand prudence; And, ye fools, be of an understanding heart.

⁶ Hear, for I will speak excellent things; And the opening of my lips shall be right things.

⁷ For my mouth shall utter truth; And wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

⁸ All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; There is nothing crooked or perverse in them.

⁹ They are all plain to him that understandeth, And right to them that find knowledge.

¹⁰ Receive my instruction, and not silver; And knowledge rather than choice gold.

¹¹ For wisdom is better than rubies; And all the things that may be desired are not to be compared unto it.

¹² I wisdom have made prudence my dwelling, And find out knowledge and discretion.

¹ Thou shalt proclaim wisdom, that understanding may be obedient to thee.

² For she is on lofty eminences, and stands in the midst of the ways.

³ For she sits by the gates of princes, and sings in the entrances, saying,

⁴ You, O men, I exhort; and utter my voice to the sons of men.

⁵ O ye simple, understand subtlety, and ye that are untaught, imbibe knowledge.

⁶ Hearken to me; for I will speak solemn truths; and will produce right sayings from my lips.

⁷ For my throat shall meditate truth; and false lips are an abomination before me.

⁸ All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing in them wrong or perverse.

⁹ They are all evident to those that understand, and right to those that find knowledge.

¹⁰ Receive instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than tried gold.

¹¹ For wisdom is better than precious stones; and no valuable substance is of equal worth with it.

¹² I wisdom have dwelt with counsel and knowledge, and I have called upon understanding.

¹ Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?

¹ It is as if wisdom, with great understanding of many things, is calling PRS out to people.

² Wisdom stands on hilltops and at crossroads.

³ Wisdom also stands at the city gates and shouts loudly,

⁴ “I am calling to everyone! I am shouting loudly to all people!

⁵ You people who do not know how to do things that are smart to do, get sound judgment; you foolish people, get good understanding!

⁶ Listen to me, because I have some excellent/important things to say. What I say is what is fair/right.

⁷ I speak what is true; I detest speaking MTY what is false/deceptive.

⁸ Everything that I say is honest; there is nothing that I say that deceives people.

⁹ My words are clear to those who have good sense; those who are wise know that what I say is right.

¹⁰ If someone offers you the kind of teaching I give or offers you silver, choose my teaching. If he offers to show you how to be wise or offers you gold, choose to know how to be wise,

¹¹ because wisdom is more valuable than jewels. Nothing that you desire is as valuable as being wise.

¹² I, wisdom, and understanding of what is smart to do, cannot be separated. We are like two people who live in the same house. I know how to be wise and how to make smart decisions.

² At the top of the highways, at the meeting of the roads, she takes her place;

³ Where the roads go into the town her cry goes out, at the doorways her voice is loud:

⁴ I am crying out to you, O men; my voice comes to the sons of men.

⁵ Become expert in reason, O you simple ones; you foolish ones, take training to heart.

⁶ Give ear, for my words are true, and my lips are open to give out what is upright.

⁷ For good faith goes out of my mouth, and false lips are disgusting to me.

⁸ All the words of my mouth are righteousness; there is nothing false or twisted in them.

⁹ They are all true to him whose mind is awake, and straightforward to those who get knowledge.

¹⁰ Take my teaching, and not silver; get knowledge in place of the best gold.

¹¹ For wisdom is better than jewels, and all things which may be desired are nothing in comparison with her.

¹² I, wisdom, have made wise behaviour my near relation; I am seen to be the special friend of wise purposes.

¹ Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding give forth her voice?

² On the top of high places by the way, at the cross-paths she taketh her stand.

³ Beside the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors, she crieth aloud.

⁴ Unto you, men, I call, and my voice is to the sons of man:

⁵ O ye simple, understand prudence; and ye foolish, understand sense.

⁷ For my palate shall meditate truth, and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

⁹ They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.

¹⁰ Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold:

¹¹ for wisdom is better than rubies, and all the things that may be desired are not equal to it.

¹² I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find the knowledge which cometh of reflection.

¹ Doth not wisdom cry aloud, and prudence put forth her voice?

² Standing in the top of the highest places by the way, in the midst of the paths.

³ Beside the gates of the city, in the very doors she speaketh, saying:

⁴ O ye men, to you I call, and my voice is to the sons of men.

⁵ O little ones, understand subtilty, and ye unwise, take notice.

⁶ Hear, for I will speak of great things: and my lips shall be opened to preach right things.

⁷ My mouth shall meditate truth, and my lips shall hate wickedness.

⁸ All my words are just, there is nothing wicked nor perverse in them.

⁹ They are right to them that understand, and just to them that find knowledge.

¹⁰ Receive my instruction, and not money: choose knowledge rather than gold.

¹¹ For wisdom is better than all the most precious things: and whatsoever may be desired cannot be compared to it.

¹² I wisdom dwell in counsel, and am present in learned thoughts.

¹ Isn't wisdom calling? Isn't understanding raising her voice?

² On the top of the hill by the road, she stands up at the crossroads.

³ Beside the gates of the town, right there at the entrance, she cries out:

⁴ “I'm calling out to you, everyone! My call is to everyone in the whole world!

⁵ If you're immature, learn how to grow up. If you're stupid, learn what makes good sense.

⁶ Listen to me because I have valuable things to explain to you.

⁷ I say what's right, because I tell the truth and I hate wickedness in all its forms.

⁸ All the words I say are true; none are false or misleading.

⁹ My words are straightforward to anyone with understanding; they are correct to those who have knowledge.

¹⁰ Choose my instruction over silver; choose knowledge over pure gold.

¹¹ For wisdom is more valuable than rubies; everything you could ever want just doesn't compare!

¹² I, wisdom, am at home with good decisions. I know how to find knowledge and discernment.

¹ Doth not wisedome crie? and vnderstanding vtter her voyce?

² She standeth in the top of the high places by the way in the place of the paths.

³ She cryeth besides the gates before the citie at the entrie of the doores,

⁴ O men, I call vnto you, and vtter my voyce to the children of men.

⁵ O ye foolish men, vnderstand wisedome, and ye, O fooles, be wise in heart.

⁶ Giue eare, for I will speake of excellent things, and the opening of my lippes, shall teache things that be right.

⁷ For my mouth shall speake the trueth, and my lippes abhorre wickednesse.

⁸ All the wordes of my mouth are righteous: there is no lewdenes, nor frowardnesse in them.

⁹ They are all plaine to him that will vnderstande, and streight to them that woulde finde knowledge.

¹⁰ Receiue mine instruction, and not siluer, and knowledge rather then fine golde.

¹¹ For wisdome is better then precious stones: and all pleasures are not to be compared vnto her.

¹² I wisdome dwell with prudence, and I find foorth knowledge and counsels.

¹² I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of devices.

¹ Doth not wisdom cry? And understanding put forth her voice?

² On the top of high places, by the wayside, at the house where there are many paths doth she place herself.

³ Alongside of gates, at the opening of the city, at the entrance of the town-doors doth she call loudly,

⁴ Unto you, O men, I call, and my voice goeth forth to the sons of men,

⁵ Learn, O ye simple, to understand prudence: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.

⁶ Hear! for of noble things will I speak; and the opening of my lips shall be of what is equitable.

⁷ For truth uttereth my palate ever, and the abomination of my lips is wickedness.

⁸ In righteousness are all the sayings of my mouth, there is in them nothing crooked or perverse.

⁹ They are all evident to the man of understanding, and correct to those that have obtained knowledge.

¹⁰ Accept my correction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.

¹¹ For wisdom is better than pearls; and all the things that men wish for are not equal to her.

¹² I wisdom dwell with prudence, and the knowledge of discreet thoughts do I discover.

¹ Thou shalt proclaim wisdom, That understanding may be obedient to thee.

⁶ Hear, for I speak excellent things, And my lips utter that which is right.

⁷ For my mouth speaketh truth, And wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

⁸ All the words of my mouth are in uprightness; There is nothing crooked or deceitful in them;

⁹ They are all plain to the man of understanding, And right to those who find knowledge.

¹⁰ Receive my instruction, and not silver. And knowledge rather than choice gold!

¹¹ For wisdom is better than pearls, And no precious things are to be compared with her.

¹² “I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, And find out the knowledge of sagacious counsels.

¹ Does not wisdom cry out? Does not understanding raise her voice?

² On the top of high places by the way, where the paths meet, she stands.

³ Beside the gates, at the entry of the city, at the entry doors, she cries aloud:

⁴ “To you men, I call! I send my voice to the sons of mankind.

² On the hilltops beside the road, at the crossroads, Wisdom has taken her stand.

³ Before the gates at the entrance into the city, at the entrances into the city, she calls out.

⁴ “It is to you, people, that I call; my voice is for the sons of mankind.

⁵ You who are naive, learn wisdom; and you who are foolish, you must get an understanding mind.

⁶ Listen, because I will speak of noble things, and when my lips open I will say upright things.

⁷ For my mouth speaks what is trustworthy, and wickedness is disgusting to my lips.

⁸ All the words of my mouth are just; in them is nothing twisted or misleading.

⁹ All of them are straight for the person who understands; my words are upright for those who find knowledge.

¹⁰ Acquire my instruction rather than silver; acquire knowledge rather than pure gold.

¹¹ For Wisdom is better than jewels; no treasure is equal to her.

¹² I, Wisdom, live with Prudence, and I possess knowledge and discretion.

² On the top of high places by the way, where the paths meet, she stands.

³ Beside the gates, at the entry of the city, at the entry doors, she cries aloud:

⁴ “I call to you men! I send my voice to the sons of mankind.

⁵ You simple, understand prudence! You fools, be of an understanding heart!

⁶ Hear, for I will speak excellent things. The opening of my lips is for right things.

⁷ For my mouth speaks truth. Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

⁸ All the words of my mouth are in righteousness. There is nothing crooked or perverse in them.

⁹ They are all plain to him who understands, right to those who find knowledge.

¹⁰ Receive my instruction rather than silver, knowledge rather than choice gold.

¹¹ For wisdom is better than rubies. All the things that may be desired can’t be compared to it.

¹² “I, wisdom, have made prudence my dwelling. Find out knowledge and discretion.

¹ Whether wisdom crieth not oft; and prudence giveth her voice?

² In most sovereign and high tops, above the way, in the midst of paths,

³ and it standeth beside the gates of the city, in those enclosings, and speaketh, and saith,

⁴ A! ye men, I cry oft to you; and my voice is to the sons of men.

⁵ Little children, that is, little of wit, understand ye wisdom; and ye unwise men, perceiveth in heart.

⁶ Hear ye, for I shall speak of great things; and my lips shall be opened, to preach rightful or even things.

⁷ My throat shall bethink truth; and my lips shall curse a wicked man.

⁸ My words be just; no shrewd thing, neither wayward is in those.

⁹ They be rightful or right to them that understand; and they be even to them that find knowing.

¹⁰ Take ye my chastising or my discipline, and not money; choose ye teaching, more than treasure.

¹¹ For wisdom is better than all riches most precious; and all desirable thing may not be comparisoned thereto.

¹² I, wisdom, dwell in counsel; and I am among learned thoughts.

¹ Whether wisdom crieth not oft; and prudence giveth her voice? (Whether not wisdom crieth often, and understanding giveth forth her voice?)

³ and it standeth beside the gate(s) of the city, in those enclosings, and speaketh, and saith,

⁴ A! ye men, I cry oft to you; and my voice is to the sons of men. (O ye people! I often cry to you; and my words (be) for the sons and daughters of men.)

⁵ Little children, that is, little of wit, understand ye wisdom; and ye unwise men, perceiveth in heart. (Ye of little intelligence, understand ye wisdom; and ye who be unwise, think in your hearts.)

⁶ Hear ye (or Listen), for I shall speak of great things; and my lips shall be opened, to preach rightful things.

⁷ My throat shall bethink truth; and my lips shall curse a wicked man. (My mouth shall speak the truth; and my lips shall curse the wicked or for my lips hate wicked words.)

⁸ My words be just; no shrewd thing, neither wayward is in those. (My words be right, or true; there is nothing depraved, or wicked, in them.)

⁹ They be rightful to them that understand; and they be even to them that find knowing. (They be right to those who understand; and they be obvious to those who find knowledge.)

¹⁰ Take ye my chastising, and not money, (or Receive, or accept, my discipline, and not money); choose ye teaching, more than treasure.

¹¹ For wisdom is better than all riches most precious (or For wisdom is better than all of the most precious riches); and all desirable thing may not be comparisoned thereto.

¹² I, wisdom, dwell in counsel (or live in good advice); and I am among learned thoughts.

¹ Doth not wisdom call? And understanding give forth her voice?

⁴ 'Unto you, O men, I call, And my voice is unto the sons of men.

⁵ Understand, ye simple ones, prudence, And ye fools, understand the heart,

⁶ Hearken, for noble things I speak, And the opening of my lips is uprightness.

⁷ For truth doth my mouth utter, And an abomination to my lips is wickedness.

⁸ In righteousness are all the sayings of my mouth, Nothing in them is froward and perverse.

⁹ All of them are plain to the intelligent, And upright to those finding knowledge.

¹⁰ Receive my instruction, and not silver, And knowledge rather than choice gold.

¹¹ For better is wisdom than rubies, Yea, all delights are not comparable with it.

¹² I, wisdom, have dwelt with prudence, And a knowledge of devices I find out.
