Proverbs 6:13-16 in English

¹³ That winketh with his eyes, that speaketh with his feet, That maketh signs with his fingers;

¹⁴ In whose heart is perverseness, Who deviseth evil continually, Who soweth discord.

¹⁵ Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; On a sudden shall he be broken, and that without remedy.

¹⁶ There are six things which Jehovah hateth; Yea, seven which are an abomination unto him:

¹³ And the same winks with the eye, and makes a sign with his foot, and teaches with the beckonings of his fingers.

¹⁴ His perverse heart devises evils: at all times such a one causes troubles to a city.

¹⁵ Therefore his destruction shall come suddenly; overthrow and irretrievable ruin.

¹⁶ For he rejoices in all things which God hates, and he is ruined by reason of impurity of soul.

¹⁴ They plan to do evil things. They constantly cause strife/trouble.

¹⁵ But disasters will hit them suddenly; they will be crushed/ruined and nothing will be able to heal them.

¹⁶ There are six, maybe seven, kinds of people that Yahweh hates. They are:

¹³ And the same winks with the eye, and makes a sign with his foot, and teaches with the beckonings of his fingers.

¹⁴ His perverse heart devises evils: at all times such a one causes troubles to a city.

¹³ he winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers;

¹⁴ deceits are in his heart; he deviseth mischief at all times, he soweth discords.

¹⁵ Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly: in a moment shall he be broken, and without remedy.

¹⁶ These six things doth Jehovah hate, yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

¹³ He winketh with the eyes, presseth with the foot, speaketh with the finger.

¹⁴ With a wicked heart he deviseth evil, and at all times he soweth discord.

¹⁵ To such a one his destruction shall presently come, and he shall suddenly be destroyed, and shall no longer have any remedy.

¹⁶ Six things there are, which the Lord hateth, and the seventh his soul detesteth:

¹³ winking slyly, giving sneaky foot gestures, rudely pointing with their fingers.

¹⁴ Their warped minds plot evil schemes; they're always causing trouble.

¹⁵ As a result, disaster falls suddenly on such people; in just a moment they're destroyed without hope of healing.

¹⁶ There are six things that the Lord hates, seven things that he absolutely detests:

¹³ He maketh a signe with his eyes: he signifieth with his feete: he instructeth with his fingers.

¹⁴ Lewde things are in his heart: he imagineth euill at all times, and raiseth vp contentions.

¹⁵ Therefore shall his destruction come speedily: hee shall be destroyed suddenly without recouerie.

¹⁶ These sixe things doeth the Lord hate: yea, his soule abhorreth seuen:

¹³ That winketh with his eyes, that scrapeth with his feet, that pointeth with his fingers;

¹⁴ Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth evil continually; he soweth discord.

¹⁶ Six things there be, which the Lord hateth; and his soul curseth the seventh thing.

¹³ he beckoneth with (the) eyes, he trampeth with the foot, he speaketh with the finger,

¹⁴ by shrewd heart he imagineth evil, and in all time he soweth dissensions. (with a depraved heart he imagineth all kinds of evil, and at all times he soweth discord.)

¹⁵ His perdition shall come to him anon, and he shall be broken suddenly; and he shall no more have medicine. (His perdition shall come upon him at once, and suddenly he shall be broken; and then he shall be without any remedy.)

¹⁶ Six things there be, which the Lord hateth; and his soul curseth the seventh thing.

¹³ Winking with his eyes, speaking with his feet, Directing with his fingers,

¹⁴ Frowardness is in his heart, devising evil at all times, Contentions he sendeth forth.

¹⁵ Therefore suddenly cometh his calamity, Instantly he is broken — and no healing.

¹⁶ These six hath Jehovah hated, Yea, seven are abominations to His soul.
