¹⁶ She considereth a field, and buyeth it; With the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

¹⁷ She girdeth her loins with strength, And maketh strong her arms.

¹⁸ She perceiveth that her merchandise is profitable; Her lamp goeth not out by night.

¹⁹ She layeth her hands to the distaff, And her hands hold the spindle.

²⁰ She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; Yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

²¹ She is not afraid of the snow for her household; For all her household are clothed with scarlet.

²² She maketh for herself carpets of tapestry; Her clothing is fine linen and purple.

²³ Her husband is known in the gates, When he sitteth among the elders of the land.

²⁴ She maketh linen garments and selleth them, And delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

²⁵ Strength and dignity are her clothing; And she laugheth at the time to come.

²⁶ She openeth her mouth with wisdom; And the law of kindness is on her tongue.

²⁷ She looketh well to the ways of her household, And eateth not the bread of idleness.

²⁸ Her children rise up, and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praiseth her, saying:

³⁰ Grace is deceitful, and beauty is vain; But a woman that feareth Jehovah, she shall be praised.

³¹ Give her of the fruit of her hands; And let her works praise her in the gates.

¹⁶ She views a farm, and buys it: and with the fruit of her hands she plants a possession.

¹⁷ She strongly girds her loins, and strengthens her arms for work.

¹⁸ And she finds by experience that working is good; and her candle goes not out all night.

¹⁹ She reaches forth her arms to needful works, and applies her hands to the spindle.

²⁰ And she opens her hands to the needy, and reaches out fruit to the poor.

²¹ Her husband is not anxious about those at home when he tarries anywhere abroad: for all her household are clothed.

²² She makes for her husband clothes of double texture, and garments for herself of fine linen and scarlet.

²³ And her husband becomes a distinguished person in the gates, when he sits in council with the old inhabitants of the land.

²⁴ She makes fine linens, and sells girdles to the Chananites: she opens her mouth heedfully and with propriety, and controls her tongue.

²⁵ She puts on strength and honour; and rejoices in the last days.

²⁶ The ways of her household are careful, and she eats not the bread of idleness.

¹⁷ She works very hard IDM; she makes her arms strong by the work she does.

¹⁸ She knows when she is getting a good profit from her business. When it is necessary, she works MTY until it is late at night.

¹⁹ She holds the ◄spindle/rod which twists the thread that she is making►, and then she spins the thread MTY that she will use.

²⁰ She generously helps MTY those who are poor and needy DOU.

²¹ She is not worried that the people in her house will be cold in the winter, because she has made warm clothes for all of them.

²² She makes bedspreads/quilts for the beds. She wears fine linen clothes that are dyed purple, like queens wear.

²³ Her husband is well known by the important people of the town; he sits with the other town leaders in the meetings of the town council.

²⁴ She makes clothes from linen cloth and sells them. She sells sashes to shop owners.

²⁵ She is strong in her character and respected/dignified, and she ◄laughs at/is not afraid of► what will happen in the future.

²⁶ When she speaks, she says what is wise. When she gives instructions, she speaks MTY kindly (OR, faithfully).

²⁷ She watches over everything that is done in her household, and she IDM is never lazy.

²⁸ Her children all together speak highly of her, and her husband also praises her.

²⁹ He says to her, “There are many women who do admirable things, but you surpass them all!”

³⁰ Some women who are attractive are not really good women, but they can deceive us regarding what they are really like. Furthermore, women's beauty does not last; but women who revere Yahweh should be honored.

³¹ Reward women who are like that, and praise them in public MTY for what they have done.

²¹ She has no fear of the snow for her family, for all those in her house are clothed in red.

²² She makes for herself cushions of needlework; her clothing is fair linen and purple.

²³ Her husband is a man of note in the public place, when he takes his seat among the responsible men of the land.

²⁴ She makes linen robes and gets a price for them, and traders take her cloth bands for a price.

²⁵ Strength and self-respect are her clothing; she is facing the future with a smile.

²⁶ Her mouth is open to give out wisdom, and the law of mercy is on her tongue.

²⁷ She gives attention to the ways of her family, she does not take her food without working for it.

²⁸ Her children get up and give her honour, and her husband gives her praise, saying,

²⁹ Unnumbered women have done well, but you are better than all of them.

³⁰ Fair looks are a deceit, and a beautiful form is of no value; but a woman who has the fear of the Lord is to be praised.

³¹ Give her credit for what her hands have made: let her be praised by her works in the public place.

²⁰ She's generous to the poor, and gives help to the needy.

²¹ She doesn't worry if it snows, because her whole family has warm clothing.

²² She makes herself bedspreads; she dresses in fine linen and purple clothes.

²³ Her husband is well-respected in the council at the town gates, where he sits with the town elders.

²⁴ She makes linen clothes for sale, and supplies merchants with belts.

²⁵ She's clothed with strength and dignity, and she is happy about the future.
