Proverbs 31:14-17 in English

¹⁴ She is like the merchant-ships; She bringeth her bread from afar.

¹⁵ She riseth also while it is yet night, And giveth food to her household, And their task to her maidens.

¹⁶ She considereth a field, and buyeth it; With the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

¹⁷ She girdeth her loins with strength, And maketh strong her arms.

¹⁴ She is like a ship trading from a distance: so she procures her livelihood.

¹⁵ And she rises by night, and gives food to her household, and appointed tasks to her maidens.

¹⁶ She views a farm, and buys it: and with the fruit of her hands she plants a possession.

¹⁷ She strongly girds her loins, and strengthens her arms for work.

¹⁴ She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

¹⁶ She goes out and looks at a field that someone wants to sell; and if it is a good field, she buys it. She buys grapevines MTY with the money that she has earned, and then she plants them.

¹⁷ She works very hard IDM; she makes her arms strong by the work she does.

¹⁴ She is like a ship trading from a distance: so she procures her livelihood.

¹⁵ And she hath risen in the night, and given a prey to her household, and victuals to her maidens.

¹⁶ She hath considered a field, and bought it: with the fruit of her hands she hath planted a vineyard.

¹⁷ She hath girded her loins with strength, and hath strengthened her arm.

¹⁴ Like a merchant's ship, she brings food from far away.

¹⁵ She gets up while it's still dark to make breakfast for her family, and to plan what her servant girls need to do.

¹⁶ She looks at a field, and decides to buy it; from the money she's earned she buys a vineyard.

¹⁷ She's keen to get ready, and works hard with her strong arms.

¹⁴ She is like the shippes of marchants: shee bringeth her foode from afarre.

¹⁵ And she riseth, whiles it is yet night: and giueth the portion to her houshold, and the ordinarie to her maides.

¹⁶ She considereth a field, and getteth it: and with the fruite of her handes she planteth a vineyarde.

¹⁷ She girdeth her loynes with strength, and strengtheneth her armes.

¹⁴ She is like the merchant-ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

¹⁵ She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth food to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

¹⁷ She girded her loins with strength, and made strong her arm.

¹⁴ She is made as the ship of a merchant (or She is made like a merchant’s ship), that beareth his bread from a far.

¹⁵ And she rose by night, and gave lifelode to her menials, and meats to her handmaidens. (And she arose at night, and gave sustenance to her servants, and food to her servantesses.)

¹⁶ She beheld a field, and bought it; of the fruit of her hands she planted a vinery. (She saw a field, and bought it; and from the fruit of her hands, or out of her earnings, she planted a vineyard.)

¹⁷ She girded her loins with strength, and made strong her arm.

¹⁴ She hath been as ships of the merchant, From afar she bringeth in her bread.

¹⁵ Yea, she riseth while yet night, And giveth food to her household, And a portion to her damsels.

¹⁶ She hath considered a field, and taketh it, From the fruit of her hands she hath planted a vineyard.

¹⁷ She hath girded with might her loins, And doth strengthen her arms.
