¹⁴ There is a generation whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, To devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.

¹⁵ The horseleach hath two daughters, crying, Give, give. There are three things that are never satisfied, Yea, four that say not, Enough:

¹⁶ Sheol; and the barren womb; The earth that is not satisfied with water; And the fire that saith not, Enough.

¹⁷ The eye that mocketh at his father, And despiseth to obey his mother, The ravens of the valley shall pick it out, And the young eagles shall eat it.

¹⁸ There are three things which are too wonderful for me, Yea, four which I know not:

¹⁹ The way of an eagle in the air; The way of a serpent upon a rock; The way of a ship in the midst of the sea; And the way of a man with a maiden.

¹⁸ Moreover there are three things impossible for me to comprehend, and the fourth I know not:

¹⁹ the track of a flying eagle; and the ways of a serpent on a rock; and the paths of a ship passing through the sea; and the ways of a man in youth.

¹⁴ Some people act very cruelly toward others; it is as though MET they have teeth that are like sharp knives; they severely oppress poor people and try to cause them to disappear from the land.

¹⁵ Leeches are always wanting more blood to suck; similarly, greedy people are always saying “Give me some!” or “Give me more!” MET There are four things that are never ◄satisfied/content with what they have►; they always want more LIT:

¹⁶ The place where the dead people are; women who do not have any children; ground that needs water/rain; and a fire that always needs more wood.

¹⁷ Those who SYN make fun of their fathers or refuse to obey their mothers (OR, despise their aged mothers) should die and have their eyes pecked out by crows, and the rest of their corpses should be fed to the vultures.

¹⁸ There are four things that are wonderful to me, but I do not understand any of them:

¹⁹ How eagles fly in the sky, how snakes are able to move/crawl across a big rock, how ships sail on the seas, and how a man falls in love with a woman.

¹⁷ People who ridicule their fathers and despise obedience to the mother will have their eyes pecked out by wild ravens and eaten by young vultures.

¹⁸ These three things are amazingly hard for me, four things I just can't understand:

¹⁹ The way an eagle soars in the sky, the way a snake slides over a rock, the way a ship sails across the sea, the way a man and a woman fall in love.

¹⁴ There is a generation, whose teeth are as swordes, and their chawes as kniues to eate vp the afflicted out of the earth, and the poore from among men.

¹⁵ The horse leache hath two daughters which crye, Giue, giue. There be three things that will not be satisfied: yea, foure that say not, It is ynough.

¹⁶ The graue, and the barren wombe, the earth that cannot be satisfied with water, and the fire that sayeth not, It is ynough.

¹⁷ Crows of the strand or the streams peck out that eye, that scorneth the father, and that despiseth the child-bearing of his mother; and the young of an eagle eat that eye.

¹⁸ Three things be hard to me, and utterly I know not the fourth thing;

¹⁹ the way of an eagle in heaven; the way of a serpent on a stone; the way of a ship in the middle of the sea; and the way of a man in his young waxing age.

¹⁴ (There is) A generation that hath swords for teeth, and eateth with his cheek teeth; that it eat the needy men of the earth, and the poor-alls of men. (There be people who have swords for teeth, and eat with their molars; and they eat the needy of the earth, and those who be all-poor, or without anything.)
