¹³ Who forsake the paths of uprightness, To walk in the ways of darkness;

¹⁴ Who rejoice to do evil, And delight in the perverseness of evil;

¹⁵ Who are crooked in their ways, And wayward in their paths:

¹⁶ To deliver thee from the strange woman, Even from the foreigner that flattereth with her words;

¹⁷ That forsaketh the friend of her youth, And forgetteth the covenant of her God:

¹⁸ For her house inclineth unto death, And her paths unto the dead;

¹⁹ None that go unto her return again, Neither do they attain unto the paths of life:

²⁰ That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, And keep the paths of the righteous.

²¹ For the upright shall dwell in the land, And the perfect shall remain in it.

¹³ Alas for those who forsake right paths, to walk in ways of darkness;

¹⁴ who rejoice in evils, and delight in wicked perverseness;

¹⁵ whose paths are crooked, and their courses winding;

¹⁶ to remove thee far from the straight way, and to estrange thee from a righteous purpose. My son, let not evil counsel overtake thee,

¹⁷ of her who has forsaken the instruction of her youth, and forgotten the covenant of God.

¹⁸ For she has fixed her house near death, and guided her wheels near Hades with the giants.

¹⁹ None that go by her shall return, neither shall they take hold of right paths, for they are not apprehended of the years of life.

²⁰ For had they gone in good paths, they would have found the paths of righteousness easy.

²¹ For the upright shall dwell in the earth, and the holy shall be left behind in it.

¹³ Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

¹⁴ Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;

¹⁵ Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:

¹³ Deceitful people have stopped acting fairly/justly toward others and ◄walk on dark and evil paths/do what evil people do► MET.

¹⁴ They enjoy doing what is wrong; they like to do what is evil and to deceive people.

¹⁵ They ◄walk on crooked paths/always deceive others► and are always dishonest.

¹⁶ If you are wise PRS, you will also be saved from ◄immoral women/prostitutes►; you will not pay attention when adulterous women try to ◄seduce/entice you by what they say.►

¹⁷ Those women have left the husbands whom they married when they were young; they have disregarded the solemn promise they made to God not to commit adultery.

¹⁸ If you go into houses of women who are like that, you will die when you are still young; the road to their houses leads to hell.

¹⁹ No man who ◄visits/sleeps with► a woman like that will again live harmoniously with his family. He will never have a happy life again.

²⁰ If you are wise, you should behave like good men behave. You should ◄stay on the paths that righteous people walk on/do what godly people do► MET,

²¹ because only godly people will live in this land and receive God's blessings; only those who have not done wrong will stay here for a long time.

¹⁴ Who take pleasure in wrongdoing, and have joy in the evil designs of the sinner;

¹⁵ Whose ways are not straight, and whose footsteps are turned to evil:

¹⁶ To take you out of the power of the strange woman, who says smooth words with her tongue;

¹⁷ Who is false to the husband of her early years, and does not keep the agreement of her God in mind:

¹⁸ For her house is on the way down to death; her footsteps go down to the shades:

¹⁹ Those who go to her do not come back again; their feet do not keep in the ways of life:

²⁰ So that you may go in the way of good men, and keep in the footsteps of the upright.

²¹ For the upright will be living in the land, and the good will have it for their heritage.

¹³ from those who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

¹⁴ who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of evil;

¹⁵ whose paths are crooked, and who are perverted in their course:

¹⁶ To deliver thee from the strange woman, from the stranger who flattereth with her words;

¹⁷ who forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God;

¹⁸ — for her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead;

¹⁹ none that go unto her return again, neither do they attain to the paths of life:

²⁰ — that thou mayest walk in the way of the good, and keep the paths of the righteous.

²¹ For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it;

¹³ Who leave the right way, and walk by dark ways:

¹⁴ Who are glad when they have done evil, and rejoice in most wicked things:

¹⁵ Whose ways are perverse, and their steps infamous.

¹⁶ That thou mayst be delivered from the strange women, and from the stranger, who softeneth her words:

¹⁷ And forsaketh the guide of her youth,

¹⁸ And hath forgotten the covenant of her God: for her house inclineth unto death, and her paths to hell.

¹⁹ None that go in unto her shall return again, neither shall they take hold of the paths of life,

²⁰ That thou mayst walk in a good way: and mayst keep the paths of the just.

²¹ For they that are upright shall dwell in the earth, and the simple shall continue in it.

¹³ who turn away from following what is right to walk down paths of darkness.

¹⁴ They happily do wrong; they love how twisted evil is.

¹⁵ They live crooked lives doing deceitful things.

¹⁶ Doing this will also save you from a woman who acts immorally, from a woman who like a prostitute tries to seduce you with flattering words.

¹⁷ Such a woman has left her husband she married when she was young, forgetting the promises she made before God.

¹⁸ What happens in her house leads to death; following her way leads to the grave.

¹⁹ No one who goes to her comes back; they don't ever find the way back to life again.

²⁰ So you should follow the way of the good, and make sure you stay on the paths of those who do right.

²¹ For only people who live right will live in the land; only honest people will remain there.

¹³ And from them that leaue the wayes of righteousnes to walke in the wayes of darkenes:

¹⁴ Which reioyce in doing euill, and delite in the frowardnesse of the wicked,

¹⁵ Whose wayes are crooked and they are lewde in their paths.

¹⁶ And it shall deliuer thee from the strange woman, euen from the stranger, which flattereth with her wordes.

¹⁷ Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the couenant of her God.

¹⁸ Surely her house tendeth to death, and her paths vnto the dead.

¹⁹ All they that goe vnto her, returne not againe, neither take they holde of the wayes of life.

²⁰ Therefore walke thou in the way of good men, and keepe the wayes of the righteous.

²¹ For the iust shall dwell in the land, and the vpright men shall remaine in it.

¹³ Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

¹⁴ Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of evil;

¹⁵ Who are crooked in their ways, and perverse in their paths;

¹⁶ To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the alien woman that maketh smooth her words;

¹⁷ That forsaketh the lord of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.

¹⁸ For her house sinketh down unto death, and her paths unto the shades;

¹⁹ None that go unto her return, neither do they attain unto the paths of life;

²⁰ That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.

²¹ For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the whole-hearted shall remain in it.

¹³ Who leave the paths of uprightness, To walk in the ways of darkness;

¹⁴ Who rejoice to do evil, And delight in the frowardness of the wicked;

¹⁵ Whose ways are crooked, And they froward in their paths:

¹⁶ To deliver thee from the strange woman, Even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;

¹⁶ To deliver thee from the adulteress, from the alien woman that useth flattering speeches;

¹⁷ That forsaketh the friend of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.

¹⁸ For she sinketh unto death—her house, and unto the departed lead her tracks.

¹⁹ All that come unto her return not again, and they will not reach the paths of life.

²⁰ In order that thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and observe the paths of the righteous.

²¹ For the upright will dwell on the earth, and the perfect will be left remaining on it.

¹³ Alas for those who forsake right paths, To walk in ways of darkness;

¹⁴ Who rejoice in evils, And delight in wicked perverseness;

¹⁵ Whose paths are crooked, And their courses winding;

¹⁶ To deliver you from the strange woman, even from the foreigner who flatters with her words;

¹⁷ who forsakes the friend of her youth, and forgets the covenant ·binding contract between two or more parties· of her God:

¹⁸ for her house leads down to death, her paths to the departed spirits.

¹⁹ None who go to her teshuvah ·completely return· again, neither do they attain to the paths of life:

²⁰ that you may walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the upright.

²¹ For the upright will dwell in the land. The perfect will remain in it.

¹³ who abandon the right paths and walk in the ways of darkness.

¹⁴ They rejoice when they do evil and delight in the perversities of evil.

¹⁵ They follow crooked paths, and using deception they hide their tracks.

¹⁶ Wisdom and discretion will save you from an adulterous woman, from an immoral woman and her flattering words.

¹⁷ She forsakes the companion of her youth and forgets the covenant of her God.

¹⁸ For her house leads down to death and her tracks will lead you to those in the grave.

¹⁹ All who go in to her will not return again and they will not find the paths of life.

²⁰ So you will walk in the way of good people and follow the paths of righteous people.

²¹ For those doing right will make a home in the land, and those with integrity will remain in it.

¹³ who forsake the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness,

¹⁴ who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the perverseness of evil,

¹⁵ who are crooked in their ways, and wayward in their paths,

¹⁶ to deliver you from the strange woman, even from the foreigner who flatters with her words,

¹⁶ That thou be delivered from an alien woman, and from a strange woman, that maketh soft her words;

¹⁷ and forsaketh the duke of her time of marriage, and hath forgotten the covenant of her God.

¹⁸ For the house of her is bowed to death, and her paths to hell.

¹⁹ All that enter to her, shall not turn again, neither they shall catch the paths of life.

²⁰ That thou go in a good way, and keep the paths of just or rightwise men.

²¹ Forsooth they that be rightful, shall dwell in the land; and simple men shall perfectly dwell therein.

¹³ Which forsake a rightful way, (or From those who abandon the right way), and go by dark ways;

¹⁴ which be glad, when they have done evil, and make full out joy in worst things; (who be glad, when they have done evil, and rejoice in the worst things;)

¹⁵ whose ways be wayward, and their goings be of evil fame. (whose ways be wicked, and whose deeds be shameful.)

¹⁶ That thou be delivered from an alien woman, and from a strange woman, that maketh soft her words; (And so that thou be rescued from a strange, or an unknown, woman, who maketh her words soft;)

¹⁷ and (who) forsaketh the duke, or (the) leader, of her time of marriage, and hath forgotten the covenant of her God.

¹⁸ For the house of her is bowed to death, and her paths to hell. (For her house is on the way to death, and her paths lead down to Sheol, or the land of the dead, or and her paths lead down to hell.)

¹⁹ All that enter to her, shall not turn again, neither they shall catch the paths of life. (All who go to her, shall never return, nor shall they ever walk again on the paths of life.)

²⁰ That thou go in a good way, and keep the paths of just men. (So see that thou go on a good way, and keep to the paths of the righteous.)

²¹ Forsooth they that be rightful, shall dwell in the land; and simple men shall perfectly dwell therein. (For they who be upright, shall live in the land; and those who be honest, or and those with integrity, shall live there.)

²⁰ That thou dost go in the way of the good, And the paths of the righteous dost keep.

²¹ For the upright do inhabit the earth, And the perfect are left in it,
