Proverbs 24:30-32 in English

³⁰ I went by the field of the sluggard, And by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;

³¹ And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, The face thereof was covered with nettles, And the stone wall thereof was broken down.

³² Then I beheld, and considered well; I saw, and received instruction:

³⁰ A foolish man is like a farm, and a senseless man is like a vineyard.

³¹ If thou let him alone, he will altogether remain barren and covered with weeds; and he becomes destitute, and his stone walls are broken down.

³² Afterwards I reflected, I looked that I might receive instruction.

³⁰ I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;

³¹ And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.

³² Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.

³² As I looked I thought about it, and what I saw taught me a lesson:

³⁰ I passed by the fielde of the slouthfull, and by the vineyarde of the man destitute of vnderstanding.

³¹ And lo, it was al growen ouer with thornes, and nettles had couered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken downe.

³² Then I behelde, and I considered it well: I looked vpon it, and receiued instruction.

³² And when I had seen this thing, I setted or put in mine heart, and by ensample, I learned teaching.

³⁰ I passed by the field of a slow man, and by the vinery of a fond man; (I passed by a lazy man’s field, and by a foolish person’s vineyard;)

³¹ and lo! nettles had filled all, thorns had covered the higher part thereof, and the wall of stones without mortar was destroyed.

³² And when I had seen this thing, I setted (it) in mine heart, and by ensample, I learned (the) teaching. (And when I had seen this, I put it in my heart, and by example, I learned the lesson.)

³⁰ Near the field of a slothful man I passed by, And near the vineyard of a man lacking heart.

³¹ And lo, it hath gone up — all of it — thorns! Covered its face have nettles, And its stone wall hath been broken down.

³² And I see — I — I do set my heart, I have seen — I have received instruction,
