¹¹ He that loveth pureness of heart, For the grace of his lips the king will be his friend.

¹² The eyes of Jehovah preserve him that hath knowledge; But he overthroweth the words of the treacherous man.

¹³ The sluggard saith, There is a lion without; I shall be slain in the streets.

¹⁴ The mouth of strange women is a deep pit; He that is abhorred of Jehovah shall fall therein.

¹¹ The Lord loves holy hearts, and all blameless persons are acceptable with him: a king rules with his lips.

¹² But the eyes of the Lord preserve discretion; but the transgressor despises wise words.

¹³ The sluggard makes excuses, and says, There is a lion in the ways, and murderers in the streets.

¹⁴ The mouth of a transgressor is a deep pit; and he that is hated of the Lord shall fall into it.

^14a Evil ways are before a man, and he does not like to turn away from them; but it is needful to turn aside from a perverse and bad way.

¹³ Lazy people remain in their houses; they say, “A lion might attack me if I go out into the street to go to work!”

¹⁴ What ◄wives who commit adultery/immoral women► say to men MTY is like a deep pit MET into which those men fall; those with whom Yahweh is angry will fall into that pit.

¹¹ Anyone who loves sincerity and a gracious way of speaking will have the king as their friend.

¹² The Lord watches over true knowledge, but counteracts the words of liars.

¹³ Lazy people make claims like, “There's a lion outside! I might be killed if I go out there!”

¹⁴ The seductive words of an immoral woman are a dangerous trap—if the Lord's angry with you, then you'll fall right in.

¹¹ Hee that loueth purenesse of heart for the grace of his lippes, the King shalbe his friend.

¹² The eyes of the Lord preserue knowledge: but hee ouerthroweth the wordes of the transgressour.

¹¹ He that loveth the cleanness of heart, shall have the king (for) a friend, for the grace of his lips (or for the eloquence of his words).

¹² The eyes of the Lord keep knowing; and the words of a wicked man be deceived. (The eyes of the Lord keep knowledge safe; but the words of the wicked be deceitful.)

¹³ A slow man shall say (or A lazy person shall say), A lion is withoutforth; I shall be slain in the midst of the streets.

¹⁴ The mouth of an alien woman is a deep ditch; he to whom the Lord is wroth shall fall into it. (The mouth of a woman with whom thou hast been intimate, but who is not thy wife, is a deep ditch; he to whom the Lord is angry with, shall fall into it.)

¹¹ Whoso is loving cleanness of heart, Grace are his lips, a king is his friend.

¹² The eyes of Jehovah have kept knowledge, And He overthroweth the words of the treacherous.

¹³ The slothful hath said, 'A lion is without, In the midst of the broad places I am slain.'

¹⁴ A deep pit is the mouth of strange women, The abhorred of Jehovah falleth there.
