Proverbs 21:15-20 in English

¹⁵ It is joy to the righteous to do justice; But it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.

¹⁶ The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding Shall rest in the assembly of the dead.

¹⁷ He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: He that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.

¹⁸ The wicked is a ransom for the righteous; And the treacherous cometh in the stead of the upright.

¹⁹ It is better to dwell in a desert land, Than with a contentious and fretful woman.

²⁰ There is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise; But a foolish man swalloweth it up.

¹⁵ It is the joy of the righteous to do judgment: but a holy man is abominable with evil-doers.

¹⁶ A man that wanders out of the way of righteousness, shall rest in the congregation of giants.

¹⁶ Those who stop behaving like those who have good sense behave will soon discover that they have gone to the place where dead people are.

¹⁷ Those who spend their money to buy ◄things that give them pleasure/things that cause them to feel happy► will become poor; those who love to spend money to buy wine and nice/fancy food MTY will never become rich.

¹⁸ Wicked people bring on themselves the sufferings that they were trying to cause righteous people to experience DOU.

¹⁹ It is better to live alone in a desert than to live with a wife who is always nagging and complaining.

²⁰ Wise people have many valuable things in their houses, but foolish people quickly spend/waste all their money.

¹⁸ An unpious man shall be given for a just or rightwise man; and a wicked man shall be given for a rightful or the right man.

¹⁹ It is better to dwell in a desert land, than with a woman full of chiding, and wrathful.

²⁰ Desirable treasure and oil is in the dwelling place of a just or rightwise man; and an unprudent man shall destroy it.

¹⁵ It is joy to a just man to make doom; and it is dread to them that work wickedness. (It is a joy for the righteous to see justice done; but judgement bringeth ruin to those who work wickedness.)

¹⁶ A man that erreth from the way of doctrine, shall dwell in the company of giants, that is, of men evil ruled, either of fiends. (Those who err, or who stray, from the way of doctrine, shall dwell in the company of the dead.)

¹⁷ He that loveth meats shall be in neediness (or He who loveth too much food shall be in want); he that loveth wine and fat things, shall not be made rich.

¹⁸ An unpious man shall be given for a just man; and a wicked man shall be given for a rightful man. (An evil person shall be given as a ransom for a righteous person; and a wicked person shall be given as a ransom for an upright person.)

¹⁹ It is better to dwell in a desert land, than with a woman full of chiding, and wrathful.

²⁰ Desirable treasure and oil is in the dwelling place of a just man; and an unprudent man shall destroy it. (Desirable treasure and oil be in the dwelling place of the wise; but an imprudent person shall destroy it all.)

¹⁶ A man who is wandering from the way of understanding, In an assembly of Rephaim resteth.

¹⁷ Whoso is loving mirth is a poor man, Whoso is loving wine and oil maketh no wealth.

¹⁸ The wicked is an atonement for the righteous, And for the upright the treacherous dealer.

¹⁹ Better to dwell in a wilderness land, Than with a woman of contentions and anger.
