¹⁷ He that uttereth truth showeth forth righteousness; But a false witness, deceit.

¹⁸ There is that speaketh rashly like the piercings of a sword; But the tongue of the wise is health.

¹⁹ The lip of truth shall be established for ever; But a lying tongue is but for a moment.

²⁰ Deceit is in the heart of them that devise evil; But to the counsellors of peace is joy.

²¹ There shall no mischief happen to the righteous; But the wicked shall be filled with evil.

²² Lying lips are an abomination to Jehovah; But they that deal truly are his delight.

¹⁷ A righteous man declares the open truth; but an unjust witness is deceitful.

¹⁹ When people tell MTY lies, others soon realize that what they said is not true IDM; but when people say what is true, others will rember that forever.

²⁰ Those who plan to do what is evil are always wanting to deceive others, but things will go well for those who plan to do good things.

²¹ Bad things usually HYP do not happen to righteous people, but wicked people always have troubles.

²² Yahweh detests those MTY who tell lies, but he is delighted with those who faithfully do what they promise that they will do.

²² False lips is abomination to the Lord; but they that do faithfully, please him.

¹⁷ He that speaketh that, that he knoweth, is a judge of rightfulness; but he that lieth, is a guileful witness. (He who speaketh what he knoweth, is a just judge or is a judge of righteousness; but he who lieth, is a deceitful witness.)

¹⁸ A man is that promiseth, and he is pricked as with the sword of conscience; but the tongue of wise men is health. (There is a person who speaketh, and his words cut like a sword; but the tongues of the wise give health.)

¹⁹ The lip of truth shall be steadfast into without end; but he that is a sudden witness, maketh ready the tongue of leasing, (or but he who speaketh a ready answer, often haveth a lying tongue).

²⁰ Guile is in the heart of them that think evils; but joy followeth them that make counsels of peace.

²¹ Whatever befalleth to a just man, it shall not make him sorry; but wicked men shall be filled with evil. (Whatever befalleth to the righteous, shall not bring them sorrow, or grief; but the wicked shall be filled with evil.)

²² False lips is abomination to the Lord; but they that do faithfully, please him.

¹⁷ Whoso uttereth faithfulness declareth righteousness, And a false witness — deceit.

¹⁸ A rash speaker is like piercings of a sword, And the tongue of the wise is healing.

¹⁹ The lip of truth is established for ever, And for a moment — a tongue of falsehood.

²⁰ Deceit is in the heart of those devising evil, And to those counselling peace is joy.

²¹ No iniquity is desired by the righteous, And the wicked have been full of evil.
