⁴ Riches profit not in the day of wrath; But righteousness delivereth from death.

⁵ The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way; But the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

⁶ The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them; But the treacherous shall be taken in their own iniquity.

⁷ When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish; And the hope of iniquity perisheth.

⁸ The righteous is delivered out of trouble; And the wicked cometh in his stead.

⁹ With his mouth the godless man destroyeth his neighbor; But through knowledge shall the righteous be delivered.

¹⁰ When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth; And when the wicked perish, there is shouting.

¹¹ By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted; But it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

¹² He that despiseth his neighbor is void of wisdom; But a man of understanding holdeth his peace.

¹³ He that goeth about as a tale-bearer revealeth secrets; But he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth a matter.

¹⁴ Where no wise guidance is, the people falleth; But in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.

¹⁵ He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it; But he that hateth suretyship is secure.

¹⁶ A gracious woman obtaineth honor; And violent men obtain riches.

¹⁷ The merciful man doeth good to his own soul; But he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.

¹⁸ The wicked earneth deceitful wages; But he that soweth righteousness hath a sure reward.

¹⁹ He that is stedfast in righteousness shall attain unto life; And he that pursueth evil doeth it to his own death.

²⁰ They that are perverse in heart are an abomination to Jehovah; But such as are perfect in their way are his delight.

²¹ Though hand join in hand, the evil man shall not be unpunished; But the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.

²² As a ring of gold in a swine’s snout, So is a fair woman that is without discretion.

²³ The desire of the righteous is only good; But the expectation of the wicked is wrath.

²⁴ There is that scattereth, and increaseth yet more; And there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth only to want.

²⁵ The liberal soul shall be made fat; And he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

²⁶ He that withholdeth grain, the people shall curse him; But blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.

²⁷ He that diligently seeketh good seeketh favor; But he that searcheth after evil, it shall come unto him.

²⁸ He that trusteth in his riches shall fall; But the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf.

²⁹ He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind; And the foolish shall be servant to the wise of heart.

¹⁶ A gracious wife brings glory to her husband: but a woman hating righteousness is a theme of dishonour. The slothful come to want: but the diligent support themselves with wealth.

¹⁹ A righteous son is born for life: but the persecution of the ungodly ends in death.

⁴ Your money will not help you on the day that God judges and punishes people; but if you live righteously, you will live a long time.

⁵ When people are honest and good, that will ◄direct their paths/show them what is right for them to do►; but wicked people will experience disasters because of the evil things that they do.

⁶ God rescues/protects righteous people because they ◄are honest/do what is right►, but those who ◄are treacherous/cannot be trusted► will be trapped because of their being greedy.

⁷ When wicked people die, they cannot confidently expect to receive anything that is good; they expect that their money will help/save them, but it will not.

⁸ Yahweh rescues righteous people from their troubles/difficulties; instead, it is the wicked who will have troubles.

⁹ Godless people can ruin others by what they say MTY, but righteous people will be saved by their ◄own good sense/being wise►.

¹⁰ When things go well for righteous people, the people in MTY their city are happy, and they shout joyfully when wicked people die.

¹¹ When righteous people request God to bless a city, that city will become great, but cities are ruined by what wicked people say MTY.

¹² It is foolish to despise others; those who ◄have good sense/are wise► do not say anything to criticize others.

¹³ Those who ◄spread gossip/tell bad things about others► will tell your secrets to others, but if there is someone whom you can trust, you can trust him to not tell your secrets to others.

¹⁴ A nation will be destroyed/ruined if it does not have leaders who guide it wisely; but if there are many good advisors, the nation remains secure.

¹⁵ If you promise a stranger that you will pay his debt if he cannot pay it himself, you will regret it. You will be safe if you refuse to guarantee that you will pay someone else's debts.

¹⁶ People honor/respect women who are kind/gracious; ruthless/violent people may get a lot of money, but that is all that they will get.

¹⁷ Those who are kind benefit themselves because others will be kind to them, but those who are cruel will hurt themselves because others will be cruel to them.

¹⁸ If wicked people earn a lot of money, that will deceive them because they will not keep it for very long, but those who do what is right will surely be rewarded by God forever.

¹⁹ Those who always do what is right will live a long/happy life, but those who insist on doing what is wrong will not live very long.

²⁰ Yahweh hates those who are always thinking about doing evil things, but he is delighted with those who always do what is right.

²¹ It is certain that Yahweh will punish evil people and that righteous people will escape from being punished.

²² It is ◄ unsuitable/not proper/disgusting► for a beautiful woman not to know what is right to do, like SIM it is unsuitable/disgusting for a pig to have a gold ring in its snout/nose.

²³ When the things that righteous people want happen, it brings good to them and to others, but when the wicked get what they want, it causes everyone else to become angry.

²⁴ Some people give their money generously to poor people, but they become richer in spite of that, and some people hold tightly to their money, but they still become poor in spite of that.

²⁵ Those who give generously to others will prosper; if you help others, they/someone will help you, too.

²⁶ People curse/despise someone who hoards his grain and does not sell it, waiting to get a higher/bigger price for it, but they praise someone who sells it when people need it, even when the price is not high.

²⁷ If you sincerely want to do what is right, people will respect you, but if you are wanting to cause trouble, trouble is what you will get.

²⁸ Those who trust in their money will disappear like the withered leaves that fall from the trees, but righteous people will keep going strong, like green leaves in the summer.

²⁹ Those who bring troubles to their families will inherit nothing MET from them, and those who do foolish things like that will some day become the servants of wise people.

³⁰ Those who live righteously will live for a long time, but those who act violently will destroy their own lives (OR, those who are wise will have many people come and live with them).

³¹ Sometimes righteous people are rewarded here on the earth, but it is much more certain that very wicked people DOU will be rewarded by being punished.

²⁹ He that troubleth his house, shall have winds in possession; and he that is a fool, shall serve a wise man.

³⁰ The fruit of a rightful or rightwise man is the tree of life; and he that taketh souls, is a wise man.

³¹ If a just or rightwise man receiveth in the earth, how much more an unfaithful man, and a sinner.

⁴ Riches shall not profit in the day of vengeance; but rightfulness shall deliver from death. (Riches shall not profit anyone on the day of vengeance; but uprightness shall deliver one from death.)

⁵ The rightfulness of a simple man shall (ad)dress his way; and a wicked man shall fall in his wickedness. (The uprightness of an honest person shall direct his way; and a wicked person shall fall because of his wickedness.)

⁶ The rightfulness of rightful men shall deliver them; and wicked men shall be taken in their ambushings. (The uprightness of the righteous shall save them; but the wicked shall be caught in their own ambushings.)

⁷ When a wicked man is dead, none hope shall be further of him; and the abiding of busy men in evil shall perish. (When the wicked die, they shall have no further hope; and the abundance, or the wealth, of those busy with evil shall perish.)

⁸ A just man is delivered from anguish; and a wicked man shall be given for him. (The righteous person is delivered from all his anguish; and it is given to a wicked person instead.)

⁹ A feigner by mouth deceiveth his friend; but just men shall be delivered by knowing. (A faker, or a hypocrite, deceiveth his friend with his mouth; but the righteous rescue others with their wisdom.)

¹⁰ A city shall be enhanced in the goods of just men; and praising shall be in the perdition of wicked men. (A city shall rejoice for the prosperity of the righteous; and praising shall be in the perdition, or in the perishing, of the wicked.)

¹¹ A city shall be enhanced by the blessing of just men; and it shall be destroyed by the mouth of wicked men. (A city shall be enhanced by the blessing of the righteous; and it shall be destroyed by the words of the wicked.)

¹² He that despiseth his friend, is needy in heart; but a prudent man shall be still. (He who despiseth his friend is foolish; but a man of understanding shall be silent.)

¹³ He that goeth guilefully, showeth privates, (or He who goeth deceitfully, telleth secrets); but he that is faithful, covereth the private (matter) of a friend.

¹⁴ Where a governor is not, the people shall fall; but health is, where be many counsels. (Without a leader, or good governance, the people shall fall; but there is victory or but there is salvation, or deliverance, where there be many counsellors, or much planning, or good advice.)

¹⁵ He that maketh faith, that is, (an) obligation, for a stranger, shall be tormented with evil; but he that escheweth snares, shall be secure.

¹⁶ A gracious woman shall find glory (or A gracious woman shall receive honour); and strong men shall have riches.

¹⁷ A merciful man doeth well to his soul (or A merciful person doeth good to his own soul); but he that is cruel, casteth away, yea, (even his own) kinsmen.

¹⁸ A wicked man maketh unstable work; but faithful meed is to him, that soweth rightfulness. (There is no surety with the work of the wicked; but there is a sure reward for those who sow goodness.)

¹⁹ Mercy shall make ready life; and the following of evil, death. (Mercy bringeth forth life; but death followeth after evil.)

²⁰ A shrewd heart is abominable to the Lord; and his will is in them, that go simply. (A depraved heart is abominable to the Lord; but his delight is in those who do things honestly, or with integrity.)

²¹ Though hand be in hand, an evil man shall not be innocent; but the seed of just men shall be saved. (Be assured, that the evil shall be punished; but the children, or the descendants, of the righteous shall be saved.)

²² A golden ring in the nostrils of a sow, (is like) a woman fair and fool. (A gold ring in the nostrils of a pig, is like a woman who is comely, but foolish.)

²³ The desire of just men is all good; (but the) abiding of wicked men is strong vengeance. (The desire of the righteous is only for good; but the longing of the wicked is for strong vengeance.)

²⁴ Some men part their own things, and be made richer; other men ravish things, that be not theirs, and they be ever in neediness. (Some people share their own things, and grow richer; other people steal things, that be not theirs, and still they always be in need.)

²⁵ A soul that blesseth, shall be made fat; and he that filleth, shall be filled also. (A person who blesseth, or who shareth, shall be made prosperous; and he who filleth, shall also be filled.)

²⁶ He that hideth wheat, shall be cursed among the peoples; but blessing shall come up on the head(s) of sellers. (He who hideth corn, shall be cursed by the people; but blessing, or praise, shall come to the sellers.)

²⁷ Well (be) he (who) riseth early, that seeketh good things; but he that is a searcher of evils, shall be oppressed of those. (He who riseth early, to seek out the good, shall find favour; but he who searcheth out evils, shall be oppressed by them.)

²⁸ He that trusteth in his riches, shall fall; but just men shall burgeon as a green leaf (or but the righteous shall flourish like the green leaves).

⁴ Wealth profiteth not in a day of wrath, And righteousness delivereth from death.

⁵ The righteousness of the perfect maketh right his way, And by his wickedness doth the wicked fall.

⁶ The righteousness of the upright delivereth them, And in mischief the treacherous are captured.

⁷ In the death of a wicked man, hope perisheth, And the expectation of the iniquitous hath been lost.

⁸ The righteous from distress is drawn out, And the wicked goeth in instead of him.

⁹ With the mouth a hypocrite corrupteth his friend, And by knowledge the righteous are drawn out.

¹⁰ In the good of the righteous a city exulteth, And in the destruction of the wicked is singing.

¹¹ By the blessing of the upright is a city exalted, And by the mouth of the wicked thrown down.

¹² Whoso is despising his neighbour lacketh heart, And a man of understanding keepeth silence.

¹³ A busybody is revealing secret counsel, And the faithful of spirit is covering the matter.

¹⁴ Without counsels do a people fall, And deliverance is in a multitude of counsellors.

¹⁵ Evil one suffereth when he hath been surety for a stranger, And whoso is hating suretyship is confident.

¹⁶ A gracious woman retaineth honour, And terrible men retain riches.

¹⁷ A kind man is rewarding his own soul, And the fierce is troubling his own flesh.

¹⁸ The wicked is getting a lying wage, And whoso is sowing righteousness — a true reward.

¹⁹ Rightly is righteousness for life, And whoso is pursuing evil — for his own death.

²⁰ An abomination to Jehovah are the perverse of heart, And the perfect of the way are His delight.

²¹ Hand to hand, the wicked is not acquitted, And the seed of the righteous hath escaped.

²² A ring of gold in the nose of a sow — A fair woman and stubborn of behaviour.

²³ The desire of the righteous is only good, The hope of the wicked is transgression.

²⁴ There is who is scattering, and yet is increased, And who is keeping back from uprightness, only to want.

²⁵ A liberal soul is made fat, And whoso is watering, he also is watered.

²⁶ Whoso is withholding corn, the people execrate him, And a blessing is for the head of him who is selling.

²⁷ Whoso is earnestly seeking good Seeketh a pleasing thing, And whoso is seeking evil — it meeteth him.

²⁸ Whoso is confident in his wealth he falleth, And as a leaf, the righteous flourish.

²⁹ Whoso is troubling his own house inheriteth wind, And a servant is the fool to the wise of heart.

³⁰ The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And whoso is taking souls is wise.

³¹ Lo, the righteous in the earth is recompensed, Surely also the wicked and the sinner!
