⁴ Riches profit not in the day of wrath; But righteousness delivereth from death.

⁵ The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way; But the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

⁶ The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them; But the treacherous shall be taken in their own iniquity.

⁷ When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish; And the hope of iniquity perisheth.

⁸ The righteous is delivered out of trouble; And the wicked cometh in his stead.

⁹ With his mouth the godless man destroyeth his neighbor; But through knowledge shall the righteous be delivered.

¹⁰ When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth; And when the wicked perish, there is shouting.

⁵ When people are honest and good, that will ◄direct their paths/show them what is right for them to do►; but wicked people will experience disasters because of the evil things that they do.

⁶ God rescues/protects righteous people because they ◄are honest/do what is right►, but those who ◄are treacherous/cannot be trusted► will be trapped because of their being greedy.

⁷ When wicked people die, they cannot confidently expect to receive anything that is good; they expect that their money will help/save them, but it will not.

⁸ Yahweh rescues righteous people from their troubles/difficulties; instead, it is the wicked who will have troubles.

⁹ Godless people can ruin others by what they say MTY, but righteous people will be saved by their ◄own good sense/being wise►.

¹⁰ When things go well for righteous people, the people in MTY their city are happy, and they shout joyfully when wicked people die.

¹¹ When righteous people request God to bless a city, that city will become great, but cities are ruined by what wicked people say MTY.

¹² It is foolish to despise others; those who ◄have good sense/are wise► do not say anything to criticize others.

¹³ Those who ◄spread gossip/tell bad things about others► will tell your secrets to others, but if there is someone whom you can trust, you can trust him to not tell your secrets to others.

⁹ With his mouth the evil man sends destruction on his neighbour; but through knowledge the upright are taken out of trouble.

¹⁰ When things go well for the upright man, all the town is glad; at the death of sinners, there are cries of joy.

¹¹ By the blessing of the upright man the town is made great, but it is overturned by the mouth of the evil-doer.

¹² He who has a poor opinion of his neighbour has no sense, but a wise man keeps quiet.

¹³ He who goes about talking of others makes secrets public, but the true-hearted man keeps things covered.

⁹ The dissembler with his mouth deceiveth his friend: but the just shall be delivered by knowledge.

¹⁰ When it goeth well with the just the city shall rejoice: and when the wicked perish there shall be praise.

¹² He that despiseth his friend, is mean of heart: but the wise man will hold his peace.

¹³ He that walketh deceitfully, revealeth secrets: but he that is faithful, concealeth the thing committed to him by his friend.

⁴ Wealth won't help you on judgment day, but goodness saves you from death.

⁵ The goodness of the innocent keeps them on track, but the wicked fall by their own wickedness.

⁶ The goodness of those who live right will save them, but the dishonest are trapped by their own desires.

⁷ When a wicked person dies, their hopes die with them; what the godless look forward to is gone.

⁸ The good are saved from trouble, while the wicked get into trouble.

⁹ Godless people mouth off and destroy their neighbors, but the good are saved by wisdom.

¹⁰ The whole town celebrates when good people are successful; they also shout for joy when the wicked die.

¹¹ Ethical people are a blessing to a town, but what the wicked say destroys it.

¹² People who run down their neighbors have no sense; someone who's sensible keeps quiet.

¹³ A gossip goes around telling secrets, but trustworthy people keep confidences.

⁷ When a wicked man dies, hope perishes, and expectation of power comes to nothing.

⁸ A righteous person is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked takes his place.

⁹ With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbour, but the righteous will be delivered through knowledge.

¹⁰ When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices. When the wicked perish, there is shouting.

¹¹ By the blessing of the upright, the city is exalted, but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

¹² One who despises his neighbour is void of wisdom, but a man of understanding holds his peace.

¹³ One who brings gossip betrays a confidence, but one who is of a trustworthy spirit is one who keeps a secret.

⁴ Riches shall not profit in the day of vengeance; but rightfulness or rightwiseness shall deliver from death.

⁵ The rightfulness or rightwiseness of a simple man shall dress his way; and a wicked man shall fall in his wickedness.

⁶ The rightfulness of rightful men or The rightwiseness of right men shall deliver them; and wicked men shall be taken in their ambushings.

⁷ When a wicked man is dead, none hope shall be further of him; and the abiding of busy men in evil shall perish.

⁸ A just or rightwise man is delivered from anguish; and a wicked man shall be given for him.

⁹ A feigner by mouth deceiveth his friend; but just or rightwise men shall be delivered by or with knowing.

¹⁰ A city shall be enhanced in the goods of just or rightwise men; and praising shall be in the perdition of wicked men.

¹¹ A city shall be enhanced by the blessing of just or rightwise men; and it shall be destroyed by the mouth of wicked men.

¹² He that despiseth his friend, is needy in heart; but a prudent man shall be still.

¹³ He that goeth guilefully, showeth privates; but he that is faithful, covereth the private matter of a friend.

⁵ The rightfulness of a simple man shall (ad)dress his way; and a wicked man shall fall in his wickedness. (The uprightness of an honest person shall direct his way; and a wicked person shall fall because of his wickedness.)

⁶ The rightfulness of rightful men shall deliver them; and wicked men shall be taken in their ambushings. (The uprightness of the righteous shall save them; but the wicked shall be caught in their own ambushings.)

⁷ When a wicked man is dead, none hope shall be further of him; and the abiding of busy men in evil shall perish. (When the wicked die, they shall have no further hope; and the abundance, or the wealth, of those busy with evil shall perish.)

⁸ A just man is delivered from anguish; and a wicked man shall be given for him. (The righteous person is delivered from all his anguish; and it is given to a wicked person instead.)

⁹ A feigner by mouth deceiveth his friend; but just men shall be delivered by knowing. (A faker, or a hypocrite, deceiveth his friend with his mouth; but the righteous rescue others with their wisdom.)

¹⁰ A city shall be enhanced in the goods of just men; and praising shall be in the perdition of wicked men. (A city shall rejoice for the prosperity of the righteous; and praising shall be in the perdition, or in the perishing, of the wicked.)

¹¹ A city shall be enhanced by the blessing of just men; and it shall be destroyed by the mouth of wicked men. (A city shall be enhanced by the blessing of the righteous; and it shall be destroyed by the words of the wicked.)

¹² He that despiseth his friend, is needy in heart; but a prudent man shall be still. (He who despiseth his friend is foolish; but a man of understanding shall be silent.)

⁷ In the death of a wicked man, hope perisheth, And the expectation of the iniquitous hath been lost.

⁸ The righteous from distress is drawn out, And the wicked goeth in instead of him.

⁹ With the mouth a hypocrite corrupteth his friend, And by knowledge the righteous are drawn out.

¹⁰ In the good of the righteous a city exulteth, And in the destruction of the wicked is singing.

¹¹ By the blessing of the upright is a city exalted, And by the mouth of the wicked thrown down.

¹² Whoso is despising his neighbour lacketh heart, And a man of understanding keepeth silence.

¹³ A busybody is revealing secret counsel, And the faithful of spirit is covering the matter.
