Matthew 10:35-39

³⁵For I came to set a man at variance with his father, and a daughter with her mother, and a bride with her mother-in-law;

³⁶and they of a man's own household will be his foes.

³⁷He that loveth father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me, is not worthy of me;

³⁸and he that doth not take his cross, and follow me, is not worthy of me.

³⁹He that findeth his life will lose it; and he that loseth his life for my sake will find it.
