¹⁸ So he made the pillars; and there were two rows round about upon the one network, to cover the capitals that were upon the top of the pillars: and so did he for the other capital.

¹⁹ And the capitals that were upon the top of the pillars in the porch were of lily-work, four cubits.

²⁰ And there were capitals above also upon the two pillars, close by the belly which was beside the network: and the pomegranates were two hundred, in rows round about upon the other capital.

²¹ And he set up the pillars at the porch of the temple: and he set up the right pillar, and called the name thereof Jachin; and he set up the left pillar, and called the name thereof Boaz.

²² And upon the top of the pillars was lily-work: so was the work of the pillars finished.

²³ And he made the molten sea of ten cubits from brim to brim, round in compass, and the height thereof was five cubits; and a line of thirty cubits compassed it round about.

²⁴ And under the brim of it round about there were knops which did compass it, for ten cubits, compassing the sea round about: the knops were in two rows, cast when it was cast.

²⁵ It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east; and the sea was set upon them above, and all their hinder parts were inward.

²⁶ And it was a handbreadth thick: and the brim thereof was wrought like the brim of a cup, like the flower of a lily: it held two thousand baths.

²⁷ And he made the ten bases of brass; four cubits was the length of one base, and four cubits the breadth thereof, and three cubits the height of it.

²⁸ And the work of the bases was on this manner: they had panels; and there were panels between the ledges;

²⁹ and on the panels that were between the ledges were lions, oxen, and cherubim; and upon the ledges there was a pedestal above; and beneath the lions and oxen were wreaths of hanging work.

³⁰ And every base had four brazen wheels, and axles of brass; and the four feet thereof had undersetters: beneath the laver were the undersetters molten, with wreaths at the side of each.

³¹ And the mouth of it within the capital and above was a cubit: and the mouth thereof was round after the work of a pedestal, a cubit and a half; and also upon the mouth of it were gravings, and their panels were foursquare, not round.

³² And the four wheels were underneath the panels; and the axletrees of the wheels were in the base: and the height of a wheel was a cubit and half a cubit.

³³ And the work of the wheels was like the work of a chariot wheel: their axletrees, and their felloes, and their spokes, and their naves, were all molten.

³⁴ And there were four undersetters at the four corners of each base: the undersetters thereof were of the base itself.

³⁵ And in the top of the base was there a round compass half a cubit high; and on the top of the base the stays thereof and the panels thereof were of the same.

³⁶ And on the plates of the stays thereof, and on the panels thereof, he graved cherubim, lions, and palm-trees, according to the space of each, with wreaths round about.

³⁷ After this manner he made the ten bases: all of them had one casting, one measure, and one form.

³⁸ And he made ten lavers of brass: one laver contained forty baths; and every laver was four cubits; and upon every one of the ten bases one laver.

³⁹ And he set the bases, five on the right side of the house, and five on the left side of the house: and he set the sea on the right side of the house eastward, toward the south.

⁴⁰ And Hiram made the lavers, and the shovels, and the basins. So Hiram made an end of doing all the work that he wrought for king Solomon in the house of Jehovah:

⁴¹ the two pillars, and the two bowls of the capitals that were on the top of the pillars; and the two networks to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were on the top of the pillars;

⁴² and the four hundred pomegranates for the two networks; two rows of pomegranates for each network, to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were upon the pillars;

⁴³ and the ten bases, and the ten lavers on the bases;

⁴⁴ and the one sea, and the twelve oxen under the sea;

⁴⁵ and the pots, and the shovels, and the basins: even all these vessels, which Hiram made for king Solomon, in the house of Jehovah, were of burnished brass.

⁴⁶ In the plain of the Jordan did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zarethan.

⁴⁷ And Solomon left all the vessels unweighed, because they were exceeding many: the weight of the brass could not be found out.

⁴⁸ And Solomon made all the vessels that were in the house of Jehovah: the golden altar, and the table whereupon the showbread was, of gold;

⁴⁹ and the candlesticks, five on the right side, and five on the left, before the oracle, of pure gold; and the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs, of gold;

²⁵ And he put five bases on the right side of the house, and five on the left side of the house: and the sea was placed on the right side of the house eastward in the direction of the south.

²⁶ And Chiram made the caldrons, and the pans, and the bowls; and Chiram finished making all the works that he wrought for king Solomon in the house of the Lord:

²⁷ two pillars and the wreathen works of the pillars on the heads of the two pillars; and the two net-works to cover both the wreathen works of the flutings that were upon the pillars.

²⁸ The four hundred pomegranates for both the net-works, two rows of pomegranates for one net-work, to cover both the wreathen works of the bases belonging to both pillars.

²⁹ And the ten bases, and the ten lavers upon the bases.

³⁰ And one sea, and the twelve oxen under the sea.

³¹ And the caldrons, and pans, and bowls, and all the furniture, which Chiram made for king Solomon for the house of the Lord: and there were eight and forty pillars of the house of the king and of the house of the Lord: all the works of the king which Chiram made were entirely of brass.

³² There was no reckoning of the brass of which he made all these works, from the very great abundance, there was no end of the weight of the brass.

³³ In the country round about Jordan did he cast them, in the clay land between Socchoth and Sira.

³⁴ And king Solomon took the furniture which Chiram made for the house of the Lord, the golden altar, and the golden table of shewbread.

³⁵ And he put the five candlesticks on the left, and five on the right in front of the oracle, being of pure gold, and the lamp-stands, and the lamps, and the snuffers of gold.

³⁶ And there were made the porches, and the nails, and the bowls, and the spoons, and the golden censers, of pure gold: and the panels of the doors of the innermost part of the house, even the holy of holies, and the golden doors of the temple.

³⁷ So the work of the house of the Lord which Solomon wrought was finished; and Solomon brought in the holy things of David his father, and all the holy things of Solomon; he put the silver, and the gold, and the furniture, into the treasures of the house of the Lord.

³⁸ And Solomon built a house for himself in thirteen years.

³⁹ And he built the house with the wood of Libanus; its length was a hundred cubits, and its breadth was fifty cubits, and its height was of thirty cubits, and it was made with three rows of cedar pillars, and the pillars had side-pieces of cedar.

⁴⁰ And he formed the house with chambers above on the sides of the pillars, and the number of the pillars was each row forty and five,

⁴¹ and there were three chambers, and space against space in three rows.

⁴² And all the doors and spaces formed like chambers were square, and from door to door was a correspondence in three rows.

⁴³ And he made the porch of the pillars, they were fifty cubits long and fifty broad, the porch joining them in front; and the other pillars and the thick beam were in front of the house by the porches.

⁴⁴ And there was the Porch of seats where he would judge, the porch of judgment.

⁴⁵ And their house where he would dwell, had one court communicating with these according to this work; and he built the house for the daughter of Pharao whom Solomon had taken, according to this porch.

⁴⁶ All these were of costly stones, sculptured at intervals within even from the foundation even to the top, and outward to the great court,

⁴⁷ founded with large costly stones, stones of ten cubits and eight cubits long.

⁴⁸ And above with costly stones, according to the measure of hewn stones, and with cedars.

⁴⁹ There were three rows of hewn stones round about the great hall, and a row of sculptured cedar:

¹⁸ And he made the pillars, and two rows round about upon the one network, to cover the chapiters that were upon the top, with pomegranates: and so did he for the other chapiter.

¹⁹ And the chapiters that were upon the top of the pillars were of lily work in the porch, four cubits.

³⁰ And every base had four brasen wheels, and plates of brass: and the four corners thereof had undersetters: under the laver were undersetters molten, at the side of every addition.

³¹ And the mouth of it within the chapiter and above was a cubit: but the mouth thereof was round after the work of the base, a cubit and an half: and also upon the mouth of it were gravings with their borders, foursquare, not round.

³² And under the borders were four wheels; and the axletrees of the wheels were joined to the base: and the height of a wheel was a cubit and half a cubit.

³³ And the work of the wheels was like the work of a chariot wheel: their axletrees, and their naves, and their felloes, and their spokes, were all molten.

³⁴ And there were four undersetters to the four corners of one base: and the undersetters were of the very base itself.

¹⁹ And on the heads of the pillars he made lily-work against the porch, of four cubits,

²⁰ and a chamber over both the pillars, and above the sides an addition equal to the chamber in width.

²³ And he made the sea, ten cubits from one rim to the other, the same was completely circular round about: its height was five cubits, and its circumference thirty-three cubits.

²⁴ And stays underneath its rim round about compassed it ten cubits round;

²⁵ And there were twelve oxen under the sea: three looking to the north, and three looking to the west, and three looking to the south, and three looking to the east: and all their hinder parts were inward, and the sea was above upon them.

²⁶ and its rim was as the work of the rim of a cup, a lily-flower, and the thickness of it was a span.

²⁷ And he made ten brazen bases: five cubits was the length of one base, and four cubits the breadth of it, and its height was six cubits.

²⁸ And this work of the bases was formed with a border the them, and there was a border between the ledges.

²⁹ And upon their borders between the projection were lions, and oxen, and cherubs: and on the projections, even so above, and also below were the places of lions and oxen, hanging work.

³⁰ And there were four brazen wheels to one base; and there were brazen bases, and their four sides answering to them, side pieces under the bases.

³¹ And there were axles in the wheels under the base.

³² And the height of one wheel was a cubit and a half.

³³ And the work of the wheels was as the work of chariot wheels: their axles, and their felloes, and the rest of their work, were all molten.

¹⁸ He also made bronze figures that resembled pomegranates. He put two rows of pomegranates over the top parts of each pillar.

¹⁹ The top part over each pillar was shaped like a lily. Each lily leaf was six feet tall.

²⁰ These top parts were placed on a bowl-shaped section around which was draped the wreaths of chains. He made 200 figures that represented pomegranates and put them in two rows around the top/head of each pillar.

²¹ His helpers set up the pillars in front of the entrance of the temple. The pillar on the south side was named Jakin, and the pillar on the north side was named Boaz.

²² The bronze top parts that were shaped like lilies were placed on top of the pillars. So Huram and his helpers finished making the bronze pillars.

²³ Huram also constructed a very large round bronze tank that was made of metal and cast in a clay mold. It was 7-1/2 ft./2.3 meters high, 30 feet/9 meters across/wide, and 45 feet/13.5 meters around it.

²⁴ Around the outer edge of the rim of the tank were two rows of gourds that were made of bronze. But the gourds were not cast separately; they were cast in the same mold as the rest of the tank. For each foot of length around the rim of the tank there were six figures of gourds.

²⁵ Huram also cast twelve bronze statues of oxen. He placed them to face outward. He placed three of them to face north, three to face west, three to face south, and three to face east. His helpers put the bronze tank on the backs of the statues of the oxen.

²⁶ The sides of the tank were 3 in./8 cm. thick. The rim was like the rim of a cup. It curved outward, like the petals of a lily. When the tank was full, it held about 10,000 gallons of water.

²⁷ Huram also made ten bronze carts. Each was six feet long and six feet wide and 4-1/2 feet tall.

²⁸ On the sides of the carts there were panels which were set in frames.

²⁹ On those panels were bronze figures of lions, bulls, and winged creatures. Below and above the lions and bulls there were decorations of bronze wreaths.

³⁰ Each cart had four bronze wheels and two axles made of bronze. At the top corners of each cart were bronze supports to hold up a basin. On these supports were also decorations of bronze wreaths.

³¹ On top of each cart, under each basin, was a frame that resembled a circular collar. The top of each circular frame was 18 inches above the top of the cart, and the bottom of it was nine inches below the top of the cart. There were also decorations of bronze wreaths on the frame engraved within square panels.

³² The wheels were 27 inches high. They were below the panels. The wheels were connected to axles that had been cast in the same mold as the rest of the cart.

³³ The wheels of the carts were like the wheels of chariots. The axles, the rims, the spokes, and the hubs were all cast from bronze.

³⁴ At the top corners of each cart there were handles. These were cast in the same mold as the rest of the cart.

³⁵ There was a nine-inch bronze band around the top of each cart. There were braces attached to the corners of each cart. The bands and the braces were cast in the same mold as the rest of the cart.

³⁶ The braces and the panels on the sides of the carts were also decorated with figures of winged creatures, lions, and palm trees, whenever there was space for them, and there were bronze wreaths all around them.

³⁷ That is how Huram made the ten carts. They were all cast in the same mold, so they were all alike: They all were the same size and had the same shape.

³⁸ Huram also made ten bronze basins, one for each cart. Each basin was six feet across and held 200 gallons of water.

³⁹ Huram placed five of the carts on the south side of the temple and five on the north side. He put the big tank at the southeast corner.

⁴⁰ Huram also made pots, shovels for carrying ashes, and bowls for carrying the blood of the animals that would be sacrificed. He completed all the work that King Solomon requested him to do for the temple. This is a list of the bronze things he made:

⁴¹ the two pillars; the two top parts to be put over the pillars; the two wreaths of chains to decorate the tops of the pillars;

⁴² the 400 figures of pomegranates, in two rows, with 100 in each row, that were placed over the top parts of the pillars;

⁴³ the ten carts; the ten basins;

⁴⁴ the big tank; the twelve statues of oxen on whose backs the tank was placed;

⁴⁵ the pots, shovels for the ashes of the altar, and bowls. Huram and his workers made all these things for King Solomon and put them outside the temple. They were all made of polished bronze.

⁴⁶ They made them by pouring melted bronze into the clay molds that Huram had set up near the Jordan River valley, between the cities of Succoth and Zarethan.

⁴⁷ Solomon did not tell his workers to weigh those bronze objects, because there were many items. So no one ever knew what they weighed.

⁴⁸ Solomon's workers also made all the gold items for the temple: the altar; the table on which the priests put the sacred bread placed before God;

⁴⁹ the ten lampstands that were put in front of the Very Holy Place, five on the south side and five on the north side; the decorations that resembled flowers; the lamps; the tongs to grasp the hot coals;

¹⁸ And hanging work, two rows of brazen pomegranates, formed with network, hanging work, row upon row: and thus he framed the ornaments for the second chapiter. And he set up the pillars of the porch of the temple: and he set up the one pillar, and called its name Jachum: and he set up the second pillar, and called its name Boloz.

¹⁹ And on the heads of the pillars he made lily-work against the porch, of four cubits,

²⁰ and a chamber over both the pillars, and above the sides an addition equal to the chamber in width.

²³ And he made the sea, ten cubits from one rim to the other, the same was completely circular round about: its height was five cubits, and its circumference thirty-three cubits.

²⁴ And stays underneath its rim round about compassed it ten cubits round;

²⁵ And there were twelve oxen under the sea: three looking to the north, and three looking to the west, and three looking to the south, and three looking to the east: and all their hinder parts were inward, and the sea was above upon them.

²³ And he made a great metal water-vessel ten cubits across from edge to edge, five cubits high and thirty cubits round.

²⁴ And under the edge of it, circling it all round for ten cubits, were two lines of flower buds, made together with it from liquid metal.

²⁵ It was supported on twelve oxen, with their back parts turned to the middle of it, three of them facing to the north, three to the west, three to the south, and three to the east; the vessel was resting on top of them.

²⁶ It was as thick as a man's open hand, and was curved like the edge of a cup, like the flower of a lily: it would take two thousand baths.

²⁷ And he made ten wheeled bases of brass; every one four cubits long, four cubits wide, and three cubits high.

²⁸ And the bases were made in this way; their sides were square, fixed in a framework;

²⁹ And on the square sides between the frames were lions, oxen, and winged ones; and the same on the frame; and over and under the lions and the oxen and the winged ones were steps.

³⁰ Every base had four wheels of brass, turning on brass rods, and their four angles had angle-plates under them; the angle-plates under the base were of metal, and there were ornaments at the side of every one.

³¹ The mouth of it inside the angle-plate was one cubit across; it was round like a pillar, a cubit and a half across; it had designs cut on it; the sides were square, not round.

³² The four wheels were under the frames, and the rods on which the wheels were fixed were in the base; the wheels were a cubit and a half high.

³³ The wheels were made like carriage-wheels, the rods on which they were fixed, the parts forming their edges, their rods and the middle points of them, were all formed out of liquid metal.

³⁴ And there were four angle-plates at the four angles of every base, forming part of the structure of the base.

³⁵ And at the top of the base there was a round vessel, half a cubit high;

³⁶ In the spaces of the flat sides and on the frames of them, he made designs of winged ones, lions, and palm-trees, with ornamented edges all round.

³⁷ All the ten bases were made in this way, after the same design, of the same size and form.

³⁸ And he made ten brass washing-vessels, everyone taking forty baths, and measuring four cubits; one vessel was placed on every one of the ten bases.

³⁹ And he put the bases by the house, five on the right side and five on the left; and he put the great water-vessel on the right side of the house, to the east, facing south.

⁴⁰ And Hiram made the pots and spades and the basins. So Hiram came to the end of all the work he did for King Solomon in the house of the Lord:

⁴¹ The two pillars and the two cups of the crowns which were on the tops of the two pillars; and the network covering the two cups of the crowns on the tops of the pillars,

⁴² And the four hundred apples for the network, two lines of apples for every network, covering the two cups of the crowns on the pillars;

⁴³ And the ten bases, with the ten washing-vessels on them;

⁴⁴ And the great water-vessel, with the twelve oxen under it;

⁴⁵ And the pots and the spades and the basins; all the vessels which Hiram made for King Solomon, for the house of the Lord, were of polished brass.

⁴⁶ He made them of liquid metal in the lowland of Jordan, at the way across the river, at Adama, between Succoth and Zarethan.

⁴⁷ The weight of all these vessels was not measured, because there was such a number of them; it was not possible to get the weight of the brass.

⁴⁸ And Solomon had all the vessels made for use in the house of the Lord: the altar of gold and the gold table on which the holy bread was placed;

⁴⁹ And the supports for the lights, five on the right side and five on the left before the inmost room, of clear gold; and the flowers and the lights and all the instruments of gold;

¹⁸ And he made pomegranates, namely two rows round about upon the one network, to cover the capitals that were upon the top of the pillars; and so he did for the other capital.

¹⁹ And the capitals that were upon the top of the pillars were of lily-work as in the porch, four cubits.

²⁰ And the capitals upon the two pillars, above also, close to the enlargement which was behind the network, had two hundred pomegranates in rows round about, also on the other capital.

³⁰ And every base had four wheels of brass, and axles of brass; and on its four corners were shoulder-pieces: under the laver were shoulder-pieces molten, behind every garland.

³⁷ After this manner he made the ten bases: all of them had one casting, one measure, one form.

³⁸ And he made ten lavers of brass: one laver contained forty baths; every laver was four cubits; upon every one of the ten bases one laver.

³⁹ And he put the bases, five on the right side of the house, and five on the left side of the house; and he set the sea on the right side of the house eastward, over against the south.

⁴⁰ And Hiram made the lavers, and the shovels, and the bowls. So Hiram ended doing all the work that he made for king Solomon for the house of Jehovah:

⁴¹ two pillars, and the globes of the capitals that were on the top of the pillars, two; and the two networks, to cover the two globes of the capitals which were on the top of the pillars;

⁴² and the four hundred pomegranates for the two networks, two rows of pomegranates for one network, to cover the two globes of the capitals which were upon the pillars;

⁴³ and the ten bases, and the ten lavers on the bases;

⁴⁴ and one sea, and the twelve oxen under the sea;

⁴⁵ and the pots, and the shovels, and the bowls. And all these things, which Hiram made king Solomon for the house of Jehovah, were of bright brass.

⁴⁶ In the plain of the Jordan did the king cast them, in the clay-ground between Succoth and Zaretan.

⁴⁷ And Solomon left all the vessels unweighed from their exceeding number; the weight of the brass was not ascertained.

⁴⁸ And Solomon made all the vessels that were in the house of Jehovah: the golden altar; and the table of gold, whereon was the shewbread;

⁴⁹ and the candlesticks of pure gold, five on the right, and five on the left, before the oracle; and the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs of gold,

¹⁸ And he made the pillars, and two rows round about each network to cover the chapiters, that were upon the top, with pomegranates: and in like manner did he to the other chapiter.

¹⁹ And the chapiters that were upon the top of the pillars, were of lily work in the porch, of four cubits.

²⁰ And again other chapiters in the top of the pillars above, according to the measure of the pillar over against the network: and of pomegranates there were two hundred in rows round about the other chapiter.

²¹ And he set up the two pillars in the porch of the temple: and when he had set up the pillar on the right hand, he called the name thereof Jachin: in like manner he set up the second pillar, and called the name thereof Booz.

²² And upon the tops of the pillars he made lily work: so the work of the pillars was finished.

²³ He made also a molten sea of ten cubits from brim to brim, round all about; the height of it was five cubits, and a line of thirty cubits compassed it round about.

²⁴ And a graven work under the brim of it compassed it, for ten cubits going about the sea: there were two rows cast of chamfered sculptures.

²⁵ And it stood upon twelve oxen, of which three looked towards the north, and three towards the west, and three towards the south, and three towards the east, and the sea was above upon them, and their hinder parts were all hid within.

²⁶ And the laver was a handbreadth thick: and the brim thereof was like the brim of a cup, or the leaf of a crisped lily: it contained two thousand bates.

²⁷ And he made ten bases of brass, every base was four cubits in length, and four cubits in breadth, and three cubits high.

²⁸ And the work itself of the bases, was intergraven: and there were gravings between the joinings.

²⁹ And between the little crowns and the ledges were lions, and oxen, and cherubims: and in the joinings likewise above: and under the lions and oxen, as it were bands of brass hanging down.

³⁰ And every base had four wheels, and axletrees of brass: and at the four sides were undersetters under the laver molten, looking one against another.

³¹ The mouth also of the laver within, was in the top of the chapiter: and that which appeared without, was of one cubit all round, and together it was one cubit and a half: and in the corners of the pillars were divers engravings: and the spaces between the pillars were square, not round.

³² And the four wheels, which were at the four corners of the base, were joined one to another under the base: the height of a wheel was a cubit and a half.

³³ And they were such wheels as are used to be made in a chariot: and their axletrees, and spokes, and strakes, and naves, were all east.

³⁴ And the four undersetters that were at every corner of each base, were of the base itself cast and joined together.

³⁵ And in the top of the base there was a round compass of half a cubit, so wrought that the laver might be set thereon, having its gravings, and divers sculptures of itself.

³⁶ He engraved also in those plates, which were of brass. and in the corners, cherubims, and lions, and palm trees, in likeness of a man standing, so that they seemed not to be engraven, but added round about.

³⁷ After this manner he made ten bases, of one casting and measure, and the like graving.

³⁸ He made also ten lavers of brass: one laver contained four bases, and was of four cubits: and upon every base, in all ten, he put as many lavers.

³⁹ And he set the ten bases, five on the right side of the temple, and five on the left: and the sea he put on the right side of the temple over against the east southward.

⁴⁰ And Hiram made caldrons, and shovels, and basins, and finished all the work of king Solomon in the temple of the Lord.

⁴¹ The two pillars and the two cords of the chapiters, upon the chapiters of the pillars: and the two networks, to cover the two cords, that were upon the top of the pillars.

⁴² And four hundred pomegranates for the two networks: two rows of pomegranates for each network, to cover the cords of the chapiters, which were upon the tops of the pillars.

⁴³ And the ten bases, and the ten lavers on the bases.

⁴⁴ And one sea, and twelve oxen under the sea.

⁴⁵ And the caldrons, and the shovels, and the basins. All the vessels that Hiram made for king Solomon for the house of the Lord, were of fine brass.

⁴⁶ In the plains of the Jordan did the king cast them in a clay ground, between Socoth and Sartham.

⁴⁷ And Solomon placed all the vessels: but for exceeding great multitude the brass could not be weighed.

⁴⁸ And Solomon made all the vessels for the house of the Lord: the altar of gold, and the table of gold, upon which the leaves of proposition should be set:

⁴⁹ And the golden candlesticks, five on the right hand, and five on the left, over against the oracle, of pure gold: and the flowers like lilies, and the lamps over them of gold: and golden snuffers,

¹⁸ Around the lattice network he made two rows of ornamental pomegranates to cover the capitals on the top of both the columns.

¹⁹ The capitals placed on top of columns in the porch were in the shape of lilies, four cubits high.

²⁰ On the capitals of both columns were the two hundred pomegranates in rows that encircled them, just above the rounded part that was next to the chain network.

²¹ He erected the columns at the entrance porch of the Temple. The southern column he named Jachin, and the northern column he named Boaz.

²² The capitals on the columns were in the shape of lilies. And so the work on the columns was finished.

²³ Then he made the Sea of cast metal. Its shape was circular, and measured ten cubits from edge to edge, five cubits in height, and thirty cubits in circumference.

²⁴ Below the edge it was decorated with ornamental gourds that encircled it, ten per cubit all the way around. They were in two rows cast as one piece with the Sea.

²⁵ The Sea stood on twelve metal bulls. Three faced to the north, three to the west, three to the south, and three to the east. The Sea was placed on them, with their rears toward the center.

²⁶ It was as thick as the width of a hand, and its edge was like the flared edge of a cup or a lily flower. It held two thousand baths.

²⁷ He also made ten carts to carry basins. The carts measured four cubits long, four cubits wide, and three cubits high.

²⁸ This is how they were put together: side panels were attached to uprights.

²⁹ Both the side panels and the uprights were decorated with lions, bulls, and cherubim. Above and below the lions and the bulls were decorative wreaths.

³⁰ Each cart had four bronze wheels with bronze axles. A basin rested on four supports that had decorative wreaths on each side.

³¹ At the top of each cart was a round opening like a pedestal to hold the basin. The opening was one cubit deep, and one and a half cubits wide. The opening had carvings around it. The panels of the cart were square, not round.

³² The four wheels were under the panels, and the axles of the wheels were attached to the cart. Each wheel measured one and a half cubits in diameter.

³³ The wheels were made in the same way as chariot wheels; their axles, rims, spokes, and hubs were all made by casting.

³⁴ Each cart had four handles, one on each corner, made as part of the stand.

³⁵ There was a ring on the top of the cart a half cubit wide. The supports and panels were cast as one piece with the top of the cart.

³⁶ He had designs of cherubim, lions, and palm trees engraved on the panels, supports, and frame, wherever there was space, with decorative wreaths all around.

³⁷ This is how he made the ten carts, with the same casts, size, and shape.

³⁸ Then he made ten bronze basins. Each one held forty baths and measured four cubits across, one basin for each of the ten carts.

³⁹ He placed five carts on the south side of the Temple and five on the north side. He placed the Sea on the south side, by the southeast corner of the Temple.

⁴⁰ He also made the pots, shovels, and bowls. So Hiram finished making everything required by King Solomon for the Temple of the Lord:

⁴¹ the two columns; the two capitals shaped like bowls on top the columns; the two chain networks that covered the bowls of the capitals on top of the columns;

⁴² the four hundred ornamental pomegranates for the chain networks (in two rows for the chain networks that covered the capitals on top of the columns);

⁴³ the ten carts; the ten basins on the carts;

⁴⁴ the Sea; the twelve bulls under the Sea;

⁴⁵ and the pots, shovels, and bowls. Everything that Hiram made for King Solomon in the Temple of the Lord was made of polished bronze.

⁴⁶ The king had them cast in molds made of clay in the Jordan valley between Succoth and Zarethan.

⁴⁷ Solomon did not weigh anything that had been made because there was just so much—the weight of bronze used could not be measured.

⁴⁸ Solomon also had made all the items for the Temple of the Lord: the golden altar; the golden table where the Bread of the Presence was placed;

⁴⁹ the lampstands made of pure gold that stood in front of the inner sanctuary, five on the right and five on the left; the flowers, lamps, and tongs that were all made of pure gold;

¹⁸ So he made the pillars and two rowes of pomegranates round about in the one grate to couer the chapiters that were vpon the top. And thus did he for the other chapiter.

¹⁹ And the chapiters that were on the toppe of the pillars were after lilye worke in ye porch, foure cubites.

²⁰ And the chapiters vpon the two pillars had also aboue, ouer against the belly within the networke pomegranates: for two hudreth pomegranates were in the two rankes about vpon either of the chapiters.

²¹ And he set vp the pillars in the porche of the Temple. And when hee had set vp the right pillar, he called the name thereof Iachin: and when he had set vp the left pillar, he called the name thereof Boaz.

²² And vpon the top of the pillars was worke of lilyes: so was the workemanship of the pillars finished.

²³ And he made a molten sea ten cubites wide from brim to brim, rounde in compasse, and fiue cubites hie, and a line of thirtie cubites did compasse it about.

²⁴ And vnder the brimme of it were knoppes like wilde cucumers compassing it round about, ten in one cubite, compassing the sea round about: and the two rowes of knoppes were cast, when it was molten.

²⁵ It stoode on twelue bulles, three looking towarde the North, and three toward the West, and three toward the South, and three towarde the East: and the sea stoode aboue vpon them, and all their hinder partes were inward.

²⁶ It was an hand bredth thicke, and the brim thereof was like the worke of the brim of a cup with floures of lilyes: it contained two thousad Baths.

²⁷ And he made tenne bases of brasse, one base was foure cubites long, and foure cubites broad, and three cubites hie.

²⁸ And the worke of the bases was on this maner, They had borders, and the borders were betweene the ledges:

²⁹ And on the borders that were betweene the ledges, were lyons, bulles and Cherubims: and vpon the ledges there was a base aboue: and beneath the lyons and bulles, were addicions made of thinne worke.

³⁰ And euery base had foure brasen wheeles, and plates of brasse: and the foure corners had vndersetters: vnder the caldron were vndersetters molten at the side of euery addicion.

³¹ And the mouth of it was within the chapiter and aboue to measure by the cubite: for the mouth thereof was round made like a base, and it was a cubite and halfe a cubite: and also vpon the mouth thereof were grauen workes, whose borders were foure square, and not round.

³² And vnder the borders were foure wheeles, and the axeltrees of the wheeles ioyned to the base: and the height of a wheele was a cubite and halfe a cubite.

³³ And the facion of the wheeles was like the facion of a charet wheele, their axeltrees, and their naues and their felloes, and their spokes were all molten.

³⁴ And foure vndersetters were vpon the foure corners of one base: and the vndersetters thereof were of the base it selfe.

³⁵ And in the toppe of the base was a rounde compasse of halfe a cubite hie round about: and vpon the toppe of the base the ledges thereof and the borders thereof were of the same.

³⁶ And vpon the tables of the ledges thereof, and on the borders thereof he did graue Cherubims, lions and palmetrees, on the side of euery one, and addicions round about.

³⁷ Thus made he the tenne bases, They had all one casting, one measure, and one syse.

³⁸ Then made he ten caldrons of brasse, one caldron conteyned fourty Baths: and euery caldron was foure cubites, one caldron was vpon one base throughout the ten bases.

³⁹ And he set the bases, fiue on the right side of the house, and fiue on the left side of the house. And he set the sea on the right side of the house Eastward toward the South.

⁴⁰ And Hiram made caldrons, and besomes, and basens, and Hiram finished all the worke that he made to King Salomon for the house of ye Lord:

⁴¹ To wit, two pillars and two bowles of the chapiters that were on the toppe of the two pillars, and two grates to couer the two bowles of the chapiters which were vpon the toppe of the pillars,

⁴² And foure hundreth pomegranates for the two grates, euen two rowes of pomegranates for euery grate to couer the two bowles of the chapiters, that were vpon the pillars,

⁴³ And the ten bases, and ten caldrons vpon the bases,

⁴⁴ And the sea, and twelue bulles vnder that sea,

⁴⁵ And pottes, and besomes and basens: and all these vessels, which Hiram made to King Salomon for the house of the Lord, were of shining brasse.

⁴⁶ In the plaine of Iorden did the King cast them in clay betweene Succoth and Zarthan.

⁴⁷ And Salomon left to weigh all the vessels because of the exceeding aboundance, neyther could the weight of the brasse be counted.

⁴⁸ So Salomon made all the vessels that perteyned vnto the house of the Lord, the golden altar, and the golden table, whereon the shewbread was,

³¹ And the mouth of it within the crown and above was a cubit high; and the mouth thereof was round after the work of a pedestal, a cubit and a half; and also upon the mouth of it were gravings; and their borders were foursquare, not round.

³² And the four wheels were underneath the borders; and the axletrees of the wheels were in the base; and the height of a wheel was a cubit and half a cubit.

³³ And the work of the wheels was like the work of a chariot wheel; their axletrees, and their felloes, and their spokes, and their naves, were all molten.

³⁴ And there were four undersetters at the four corners of each base; the undersetters thereof were of one piece with the base itself.

⁴⁴ and the one sea, and the twelve oxen under the sea;

⁴⁵ and the pots, and the shovels, and the basins; even all these vessels, which Hiram made for king Solomon, in the house of the LORD, were of burnished brass.

³¹ And its mouth was within the capital and above a cubit in height; but the mouth of this was rounded after the work of the base, a cubit and a half cubit; and also upon its mouth were carvings; and their borders were square, not rounded.

³⁹ And he built the house with the wood of Lebanon; its length was a hundred cubits, and its breadth was fifty cubits, and its height was of thirty cubits, and it was made with three rows of cedar pillars, and the pillars had side pieces of cedar.

⁴⁰ And he formed the house with chambers above on the sides of the pillars, and the number of the pillars was each row forty and five,

⁴¹ and there were three chambers, and space against space in three rows.

⁴² And all the doors and spaces formed like chambers were square, and from door to door was a correspondence in three rows.

⁴³ And he made the porch of the pillars, they were fifty cubits long and fifty broad, the porch joining them in front; and the other pillars and the thick beam were in front of the house by the porches.

⁴⁴ And there was the Porch of seats where he would judge, the porch of judgment.

⁴⁵ And their house where he would dwell, had one court communicating with these according to this work; and he built the house for the daughter of Pharaoh whom Solomon had taken, according to this porch.

⁴⁶ All these were of costly stones, sculptured at intervals within even from the foundation even to the top, and outward to the great court,

⁴⁷ founded with large costly stones, stones of ten cubits and eight cubits long.

⁴⁸ And above with costly stones, according to the measure of hewn stones, and with cedars.

⁴⁹ There were three rows of hewn stones round about the great hall, and a row of sculptured cedar:

³² The four wheels were underneath the panels, and the axles of the wheels and their housings were in the stand. The height of a wheel was a cubit and a half.

³³ The wheels were forged like chariot wheels. Their housings, rims, spokes, and hubs were all cast metal.

³⁴ There were four handles at the four corners of each stand, forged into the stand itself.

³⁵ In the top of the stands there was a round band half a cubit deep, and on the top of the stand its supports and panels were attached.

³⁶ On the surfaces of the supports and on the panels Huram engraved cherubim, lions, and palm trees that covered the space available, and they were surrounded by wreaths.

¹⁸ So he made the pillars; and there were two rows of pomegranates around the one network, to cover the capitals that were on the top of the pillars; and he did so for the other capital.

¹⁹ The capitals that were on the top of the pillars in the porch were of lily work, four cubits.

²⁰ There were capitals above also on the two pillars, close by the belly which was beside the network. There were two hundred pomegranates in rows around the other capital.

²¹ He set up the pillars at the porch of the temple. He set up the right pillar and called its name Jachin; and he set up the left pillar and called its name Boaz.

²² On the tops of the pillars was lily work. So the work of the pillars was finished.

²³ He made the molten sea ten cubits from brim to brim, round in shape. Its height was five cubits; and a line of thirty cubits encircled it.

²⁴ Under its brim around there were buds which encircled it for ten cubits, encircling the sea. The buds were in two rows, cast when it was cast.

²⁵ It stood on twelve oxen, three looking towards the north, and three looking towards the west, and three looking towards the south, and three looking towards the east; and the sea was set on them above, and all their hindquarters were inward.

²⁶ It was a hand width thick. Its brim was worked like the brim of a cup, like the flower of a lily. It held two thousand baths.

²⁷ He made the ten bases of bronze. The length of one base was four cubits, four cubits its width, and three cubits its height.

²⁸ The work of the bases was like this: they had panels; and there were panels between the ledges;

²⁹ and on the panels that were between the ledges were lions, oxen, and cherubim; and on the ledges there was a pedestal above; and beneath the lions and oxen were wreaths of hanging work.

³⁰ Every base had four bronze wheels and axles of bronze; and its four feet had supports. The supports were cast beneath the basin, with wreaths at the side of each.

³¹ Its opening within the capital and above was a cubit. Its opening was round like the work of a pedestal, a cubit and a half; and also on its opening were engravings, and their panels were square, not round.

³² The four wheels were underneath the panels; and the axles of the wheels were in the base. The height of a wheel was a cubit and half a cubit.

³³ The work of the wheels was like the work of a chariot wheel. Their axles, their rims, their spokes, and their hubs were all of cast metal.

³⁴ There were four supports at the four corners of each base. Its supports were of the base itself.

³⁵ In the top of the base there was a round band half a cubit high; and on the top of the base its supports and its panels were the same.

³⁶ On the plates of its supports and on its panels, he engraved cherubim, lions, and palm trees, each in its space, with wreaths all around.

³⁷ He made the ten bases in this way: all of them had one casting, one measure, and one form.

³⁸ He made ten basins of bronze. One basin contained forty baths. Every basin measured four cubits. One basin was on every one of the ten bases.

³⁹ He set the bases, five on the right side of the house and five on the left side of the house. He set the sea on the right side of the house eastward and towards the south.

⁴⁰ Hiram made the pots, the shovels, and the basins. So Hiram finished doing all the work that he worked for king Solomon in the LORD’s house:

⁴¹ the two pillars; the two bowls of the capitals that were on the top of the pillars; the two networks to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were on the top of the pillars;

⁴² the four hundred pomegranates for the two networks; two rows of pomegranates for each network, to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were on the pillars;

⁴³ the ten bases; the ten basins on the bases;

⁴⁴ the one sea; the twelve oxen under the sea;

⁴⁵ the pots; the shovels; and the basins. All of these vessels, which Hiram made for king Solomon in the LORD’s house, were of burnished bronze.

⁴⁶ The king cast them in the plain of the Jordan, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zarethan.

⁴⁷ Solomon left all the vessels unweighed, because there were so many of them. The weight of the bronze could not be determined.

⁴⁸ Solomon made all the vessels that were in the LORD’s house: the golden altar and the table that the show bread was on, of gold;

⁴⁹ and the lamp stands, five on the right side and five on the left, in front of the inner sanctuary, of pure gold; and the flowers, the lamps, and the tongs, of gold;

¹⁸ And he made perfectly the pillars, and two orders about all the works like nets, that those or they should cover the pommels, which were upon the highness of the pomegranates; in the same manner he did also to the second pommel.

¹⁹ And the pommels, that were upon the heads of the pillars in the porch, were made as by work of lily, of four cubits;

²⁰ and again other pommels in the highness of the pillars above, by the measure of the pillar, set against the works like nets; and two hundred orders of pomegranates were in the compass of the second pommel.

²¹ And he set the two pillars in the porch of the temple; and when he had set the right half pillar, he called it by name Jachin, that is, steadfast; in like manner he raised up the second pillar, and he called the name thereof Boaz, that is, strength.

²² And he set upon the heads of the pillars a work by the manner of a lily; and the work of the pillars was made perfect.

²³ Also he made a molten sea, that is, a washing vessel for priests, round in compass, of ten cubits from brink to brink; the highness thereof was of five cubits; and a cord of thirty cubits went about it by compass.

²⁴ And the engraving under the brink compassed it, and it compassed or came about the sea by ten cubits; twain or two orders of engravings containing some stories were molten,

²⁵ and stood upon twelve oxen; of which oxen three beheld to the north, and three to the west, and three to the south, and three to the east; and the sea was above upon those oxen, of which all the hinder things were hid within.

²⁶ And the thickness of the sea was of four fingers, or a palm, and the brink thereof was as the brink of a cup, and as the leaf of a lily crooked again; the sea contained two thousand baths, that is, three thousand metretes.

²⁷ And he made ten brazen found-aments or bases, each foundament of four cubits of length, and of four cubits of breadth, and of three cubits of highness.

²⁸ And that work of the foundaments was raised betwixt; and engravings were between the jointures.

²⁹ And between the little crowns and the circles were lions, oxen, and cherubims or cherubim; and in the jointures in like manner above; and under the lions and the oxen were as reins of bridles of brass hanging down.

³⁰ And by each foundament were four wheels, and brazen axletrees; and by four parts were as little shoulder-ings under the washing vessel, the shoulderings, that is, short pillars to sustain the washing vessel, molten, and beholding against themselves together.

³¹ And the mouth of the washing vessel within was in the highness of the head, and that, that appeared withoutforth, was of one cubit, and it was all-round, and had altogether one cubit and an half; and diverse engravings were in the corners of the pillars, and the middle pillar between was square, not round.

³² And the four wheels, which were by the four corners of the found-ament, cleaved together to themselves under the foundament; one wheel had one cubit and an half of height.

³³ And the wheels were such, which manner wheels be wont to be made in a chariot; and the axletrees, and the nave-stocks, and the spokes, and the felloes or the dowels of those wheels, all things were molten.

³⁴ For also the four little shoulderings, by all the corners of one foundament, were joined together, and were molten of that foundament, that is, were molten together with that foundament, and made one body.

³⁵ And in the highness of the founda-ment was a roundness, of one cubit and an half, so made craftily, that the washing vessel might be set above, having his portrayings, and diverse engravings of itself.

³⁶ Also he engraved in those walls, that were of brass, and in the corners, cherubims or cherubim, and lions, and palms, as by the likeness of a man standing, that those or they seemed not engraved, but put to by compass.

³⁷ By this manner he made ten foundaments, by one melting out, and one measure, and like engraving.

³⁸ Also he made ten washing vessels of brass; one washing vessel took, or held, forty baths, and it was of four cubits; and he put each washing vessel by itself by each foundament by itself, that is, ten.

³⁹ And he made ten foundaments, five at the right half of the temple, and five at the left half; and he set the sea at the right half of the temple, against the east, at the south.

⁴⁰ Also Hiram made cauldrons, and pans, and wine vessels; and he made perfectly all the work of king Solomon in the temple of the Lord.

⁴¹ He made two pillars, and two cords of the pommels, that is, circles compassing the pommels, at the manner of cords, upon the pommels of the pillars, and two works like nets, that those or they should cover the two cords, that were upon the heads of the pillars.

⁴² And he made pomegranates four hundred in two works like nets; and two orders of pomegranates in each work like a net, to cover the cords of the pommels, that were on the heads of the pillars.

⁴³ And he made the ten founda-ments, and the ten washing vessels on the foundaments;

⁴⁴ and one sea, and twelve oxen under the sea;

⁴⁵ and cauldrons, and pans, and wine vessels. All the vessels, which Hiram made to king Solomon in the house of the Lord, were of latten.

⁴⁶ And the king melted out those vessels in the field country of Jordan, in the clay land, betwixt Succoth and Zarthan.

⁴⁷ And Solomon setted or put all the vessels in their places; but for the great multitude, no weight was of the brass.

⁴⁸ And Solomon made all the vessels in the house of the Lord; soothly he made the golden altar, that is, the altar of incense, that was within the temple, and the golden board, upon which the loaves of setting forth were set;

⁴⁹ and he made of most pure gold golden candlesticks, five at the right half, and five at the left half, against God’s answering place; and he made as the flowers of a lily, and golden lanterns above, and golden tongs;

¹⁸ And he made perfectly the pillars, and two orders about all the works like nets, that those should cover the pommels, which were upon the highness of the pomegranates; in the same manner he did also to the second pommel. (And he finished the pillars, with two rows of pomegranates, all around the tops of the pillars, above the networks; he did this in the same manner for each of the capitals.)

¹⁹ And the pommels, that were upon the heads of the pillars in the porch, were made as by work of lily, of four cubits; (And the capitals, that were on the tops of the pillars in the vestibule, were shaped like lilies, four cubits in height;)

²⁰ and again other pommels in the highness of the pillars above, by the measure of the pillar, set against the works like nets; and two hundred orders of pomegranates were in the compass of the second pommel. (and on the capitals, on the tops of the two bronze pillars, above the networks, were two hundred pomegranates in two rows, around each capital.)

²¹ And he set the two pillars in the porch of the temple; and when he had set the right half pillar, he called it by name Jachin, that is, steadfast; in like manner he raised up the second pillar, and he called the name thereof Boaz, that is, strength. (And he placed the two pillars in the vestibule of the Temple; and when he had raised up the right-hand pillar, he named it Jachin, that is, Steadfast; and in like manner he raised up the left-hand pillar, and he named it Boaz, that is, Strength.)

²² And he set upon the heads of the pillars a work by the manner of a lily; and (so) the work of the pillars was made perfect. (And on the very top of the pillars was lily work; and so the work of the pillars was finished, or completed.)

²³ Also he made a molten sea, that is, a washing vessel for priests, round in compass, of ten cubits from brink to brink; the highness thereof was of five cubits; and a cord of thirty cubits went about it by compass. (And he cast the bronze Sea, that is, a washing vessel for the priests, and it was ten cubits across from brim to brim; its highness was five cubits; and it took a cord thirty cubits long to go all around it.)

²⁴ And the engraving under the brink compassed it, and compassed the sea by ten cubits/and it came about the sea by ten cubits; twain orders of gravings containing some stories were molten (or two rows of knops, or of gourds, were cast together, and joined with the Sea),

²⁵ and (it) stood upon twelve oxen; of which oxen three beheld to the north, and three to the west, and three to the south, and three to the east; and the sea was above upon those oxen, of which all the hinder things were hid within.

²⁶ And the thickness of the sea was of four fingers, or a palm, and the brink thereof was as the brink of a cup (or and its brim was like the brim of a cup), and as the leaf of a lily crooked again; the sea contained two thousand baths, that is, three thousand metretes.

²⁷ And he made ten brazen foundaments, each foundament of four cubits of length, and of four cubits of breadth, and of three cubits of highness.

²⁸ And that work of the foundaments was raised betwixt; and gravings were between the jointures.

²⁹ And between the little crowns and the circles were lions, oxen, and cherubims; and in the jointures in like manner above; and under the lions and the oxen were as reins of bridles of brass hanging down, (or and under the lions and the oxen were like reins of bridles made of bronze hanging down, or spiral work).

³⁰ And by each foundament were four wheels, and brazen axletrees; and by (the) four parts were as little shoulderings under the washing vessel, the shoulderings, that is, short pillars to sustain the washing vessel, molten, and beholding against themselves together, (or the short pillars were cast, and they were placed opposite each other).

³¹ And the mouth of the washing vessel within was in the highness of the head, and that, that appeared withoutforth, was of one cubit, and it was all-round, and had altogether one cubit and an half; and diverse gravings were in the corners of the pillars (or and diverse engravings were on the corners of the pillars), and the middle pillar between was square, not round.

³² And the four wheels, which were by the four corners of the foundament, cleaved together to themselves under the foundament; one wheel had one cubit and an half of height.

³³ And the wheels were such, which manner wheels be wont to be made in a chariot; and the axletrees, and the nave-stocks, and the spokes, and the felloes/and the dowels of those wheels, all things were molten. (And the wheels were such, as be wont to be made for a chariot; and the axle-rods, and the nave-stocks, and the spokes, and the felloes or the dowels for those wheels, all of these things were cast.)

³⁴ For also the four little shoulderings, by all the corners of one foundament, were joined together, and were molten of that foundament, that is, were molten together with that foundament, (or that is, were cast together with that foundation), and made one body.

³⁵ And in the highness of the foundament was a roundness, of one cubit and an half, so made craftily, that the washing vessel might be set above, having his portrayings, and diverse gravings of itself. (And at the top of the foundation was a circular band, one and a half cubits in height, skillfully made, so that the washing vessel could be put above, having portrayings, and diverse engravings, upon it.)

³⁶ Also he graved in those walls, that were of brass, and in the corners, cherubims, and lions, and palms, as by the likeness of a man standing, that those seemed not graven, but put to by compass. (And he engraved on their bronze walls, and on their corners, cherubim, and lions, and palms, like the likeness of a man standing there, wherever there was an empty space, with spiral work all around it.)

³⁷ By this manner he made ten foundaments, by one melting out, and one measure, and like engraving.

³⁸ Also he made ten washing vessels of brass; one washing vessel took, (or held), forty baths, and it was of four cubits; and he put each washing vessel by itself by each foundament by itself, that is, ten, (or and he put one washing vessel by itself on one foundation by itself, that is, ten altogether).

³⁹ And he made ten foundaments, five at the right half of the temple, and five at the left half; and he set the sea at the right half of the temple, against the east, at the south. (And he put ten foundations, five on the right side of the Temple, and five on the left side; and he put the Sea on the right side of the Temple, at the southeast corner.)

⁴⁰ Also Hiram made cauldrons, and pans, and wine vessels; and he made perfectly all the work of king Solomon in the temple of the Lord. (And Hiram made cauldrons, and pans, and basins; and so he finished all the work for King Solomon for the Temple of the Lord.)

⁴¹ He made (the) two pillars, and (the) two cords of the pommels, that is, (the) circles compassing the pommels, at the manner of cords, upon the pommels of the pillars, and (the) two works like nets, that those should cover the two cords, that were upon the heads of the pillars. (He made the two pillars, and the two bowl-shaped capitals, that were on the tops of the pillars, and the two networks, to cover the two bowl-shaped capitals, that were on the tops of the pillars.)

⁴² And he made pomegranates four hundred in two works like nets; and two orders of pomegranates in each work like a net, to cover the cords of the pommels, that were on the heads of the pillars. (And he made four hundred pomegranates for the two networks; and there were two rows of pomegranates for each network, to cover the bowl-shaped capitals, that were on the tops of the pillars.)

⁴³ And he made the ten foundaments, and the ten washing vessels on the foundaments;

⁴⁴ and one sea, and twelve oxen under the sea;

⁴⁵ and cauldrons, and pans, and wine vessels. All the vessels, which Hiram made to king Solomon in the house of the Lord, were of latten. (and the cauldrons, and pans, and basins. All the vessels, which Hiram made for King Solomon for the House of the Lord, were cast in bronze.)

⁴⁶ And the king melted out those vessels in the field country of Jordan (or And the king had those vessels cast in the field country of Jordan), in the clay land, betwixt Succoth and Zarthan.

⁴⁷ And Solomon setted all the vessels (in their places); but for the great multitude, no weight was of the brass. (And Solomon put all the vessels in their places; and because of their great multitude, the weight of the bronze could not be reckoned.)

⁴⁸ And Solomon made all the vessels in the house of the Lord; soothly he made the golden altar, that is, the altar of incense, that was within the temple, and the golden board, upon which the loaves of setting forth were set; (And Solomon made all the vessels for the House of the Lord; yea, he made the gold altar, that is, the altar of incense, that was within the Temple, and the gold table, on which the loaves of setting forth, or the loaves of proposition, were placed;)

⁴⁹ and he made of most pure gold (the) golden candlesticks, five at the right half, and five at the left half, against God’s answering place; and he made as the flowers of a lily, and (the) golden lanterns above, and (the) golden tongs; (and he made the candlesticks out of pure gold, five on the right side, and five on the left side, that stood in front of the Inner Temple, that is, the Most Holy Place, or the Holy of Holies; and he made the lily flowers, and the lanterns, and the tongs out of pure gold;)

¹⁸ And he maketh the pillars, and two rows round about on the one net-work, to cover the chapiters that are on the top, with the pomegranates, and so he hath made for the second chapiter.

¹⁹ And the chapiters that are on the top of the pillars are of lily-work in the porch, four cubits;

²⁰ and the chapiters on the two pillars also above, over-against the protuberance that is beside the net; and the pomegranates are two hundred, in rows round about on the second chapiter.

²¹ And he raiseth up the pillars for the porch of the temple, and he raiseth up the right pillar, and calleth its name Jachin, and he raiseth up the left pillar, and calleth its name Boaz;

²² and on the top of the pillars is lily-work; and the work of the pillars is completed.

²³ And he maketh the molten sea, ten by the cubit from its edge unto its edge; it is round all about, and five by the cubit is its height, and a line of thirty by the cubit doth compass it round about;

²⁴ and knops beneath its brim round about are compassing it, ten by the cubit, going round the sea round about; in two rows are the knops, cast in its being cast.

²⁵ It is standing on twelve oxen, three facing the north, and three facing the west, and three facing the south, and three facing the east, and the sea is upon them above, and all their hinder parts are inward.

²⁶ And its thickness is an handbreadth, and its edge as the work of the edge of a cup, flowers of lilies; two thousand baths it containeth.

²⁷ And he maketh the ten bases of brass; four by the cubit is the length of the one base, and four by the cubit its breadth, and three by the cubit its height.

²⁸ And this is the work of the base: they have borders, and the borders are between the joinings;

²⁹ and on the borders that are between the joinings are lions, oxen, and cherubs, and on the joinings a base above, and beneath the lions and the oxen are additions — sloping work.

³⁰ And four wheels of brass are to the one base, and axles of brass; and its four corners have shoulders — under the laver are the molten shoulders, beside each addition.

³¹ And its mouth within the chapiter and above is by the cubit, and its mouth is round, the work of the base, a cubit and half a cubit; and also on its mouth are carvings and their borders, square, not round.

³² And the four wheels are under the borders, and the spokes of the wheels are in the base, and the height of the one wheel is a cubit and half a cubit.

³³ And the work of the wheels is as the work of the wheel of a chariot, their spokes, and their axles, and their felloes, and their naves; the whole is molten.

³⁴ And four shoulders are unto the four corners of the one base; out of the base are its shoulders.

³⁵ And in the top of the base is the half of a cubit in the height all round about; and on the top of the base its spokes and its borders are of the same.

³⁶ And he openeth on the tablets of its spokes, and on its borders, cherubs, lions, and palm-trees, according to the void space of each, and additions round about.

³⁷ Thus he hath made the ten bases; one casting, one measure, one form, have they all.

³⁸ And he maketh ten lavers of brass; forty baths doth the one laver contain, four by the cubit is the one laver, one laver on the one base is to the ten bases;

³⁹ and he putteth the five bases on the right side of the house, and five on the left side of the house, and the sea he hath put on the right side of the house, eastward — over-against the south.

⁴⁰ And Hiram maketh the lavers, and the shovels, and the bowls; and Hiram completeth to do all the work that he made for king Solomon, for the house of Jehovah;

⁴¹ pillars two, and bowls of the chapiters that are on the top of the pillars two, and the nets two, to cover the two bowls of the chapiters that are on the top of the pillars;

⁴² and the pomegranates four hundred for the two nets, two rows of pomegranates for the one net, to cover the two bowls of the chapiters that are on the front of the pillars;

⁴³ and the ten bases, and the ten lavers on the bases;

⁴⁴ and the one sea, the twelve oxen under the sea,

⁴⁵ and the pots, and the shovels, and the bowls; and all these vessels, that Hiram hath made to king Solomon for the house of Jehovah, are of brass — polished.

⁴⁶ In the circuit of the Jordan hath the king cast them, in the thick soil of the ground, between Succoth and Zarthan.

⁴⁷ And Solomon placeth the whole of the vessels; because of the very great abundance, the weight of the brass hath not been searched out.

⁴⁸ And Solomon maketh all the vessels that are in the house of Jehovah: the altar of gold, and the table — on which is the bread of the Presence — of gold,

⁴⁹ and the candlesticks, five on the right, and five on the left, before the oracle, of refined gold, and the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs, of gold,
