Joshua 4:13-17 in English

¹³ about forty thousand ready armed for war passed over before Jehovah unto battle, to the plains of Jericho.

¹⁴ On that day Jehovah magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they feared Moses, all the days of his life.

¹⁵ And Jehovah spake unto Joshua, saying,

¹⁶ Command the priests that bear the ark of the testimony, that they come up out of the Jordan.

¹⁷ Joshua therefore commanded the priests, saying, Come ye up out of the Jordan.

¹³ Forty thousand armed for battle went over before the Lord to war, to the city of Jericho.

¹⁴ In that day the Lord magnified Joshua before all the people of Israel; and they feared him, as they did Moses, as long as he lived.

¹⁵ And the Lord spoke to Joshua, saying,

¹⁶ Charge the priests that bear the ark of the covenant of the testimony of the Lord, to go up out of Jordan.

¹⁷ And Joshua charged the priests, saying, Go up out of Jordan.

¹³ About forty thousand prepared for war passed over before the LORD unto battle, to the plains of Jericho.

¹³ As Yahweh was watching, there were about forty thousand of those soldiers, carrying weapons ready for battle, who crossed the riverbed to the plains near Jericho, ready to fight.

¹⁴ On that day, all the people of Israel saw that Yahweh had caused Joshua to be a great leader. And they honored Joshua for the rest of his life, just as they had honored Moses.

¹⁵ Yahweh said to Joshua,

¹⁶ “ Now tell the priests who are carrying the chest containing the Ten Commandments to come up from the Jordan riverbed.”

¹⁷ So Joshua commanded the priests to do that.

¹³ Forty thousand armed for battle went over before the Lord to war, to the city of Jericho.

¹⁴ In that day the Lord magnified Joshua before all the people of Israel; and they feared him, as they did Moses, as long as he lived.

¹⁵ And the Lord spoke to Joshua, saying,

¹⁴ That day the Lord made Joshua great in the eyes of all Israel; and all the days of his life they went in fear of him, as they had gone in fear of Moses.

¹⁵ Then the Lord said to Joshua,

¹⁶ Give orders to the priests who take up the ark of witness, to come up out of Jordan.

¹⁷ So Joshua gave orders to the priests, saying, Come up now out of Jordan.

¹³ About forty thousand armed for military service passed over before Jehovah to the war, unto the plains of Jericho.

¹⁴ On that day Jehovah magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they had feared Moses, all the days of his life.

¹⁵ And Jehovah spoke to Joshua, saying,

¹⁶ Command the priests who bear the ark of the testimony, that they come up out of the Jordan.

¹⁷ And Joshua commanded the priests, saying, Come up out of the Jordan.

¹³ And forty thousand fighting men by their troops, and bands, marched through the plains and fields of the city of Jericho.

¹⁴ In that day the Lord magnified Josue in the sight of all Israel, that they should fear him, as they had feared Moses, while he lived.

¹⁵ And he said to him:

¹⁶ Command the priests, that carry the ark of the covenant, to come up out of the Jordan.

¹⁷ And he commanded them, saying: Come ye up out of the Jordan.

¹³ They numbered about 40,000 men, armed and ready for battle, crossed in the presence of the Lord to the plains of Jericho.

¹⁴ On that day the Lord confirmed Joshua as great leader in the sight of all the Israelites, and they were in awe of him just as they had been in awe of Moses.

¹⁵ The Lord had told Joshua,

¹⁶ “Order the priests carrying the Ark of the Testimony to come up out of the Jordan.”

¹⁷ So Joshua told the priests, “Come up out of the Jordan.”

¹³ Euen fourty thousand prepared for warre, went before the Lord vnto battel, into ye plaine of Iericho.

¹⁴ That day the Lord magnified Ioshua in the sight of all Israel, and they feared him, as they feared Moses all dayes of his life.

¹⁵ And the Lord spake vnto Ioshua, saying,

¹⁶ Commande the Priests that beare ye Arke of the testimonie, to come vp out of Iorden.

¹⁷ Ioshua therefore commanded the Priests, saying, Come ye vp out of Iorden.

¹³ about forty thousand ready armed for war passed on in the presence of the LORD unto battle, to the plains of Jericho.

¹⁴ On that day the LORD magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they feared Moses, all the days of his life.

¹⁴ On that day Yahweh made Joshua great in the eyes of all Israel. They honored him—just as they honored Moses— all his days.

¹⁵ Then Yahweh spoke to Joshua,

¹⁶ “Command the priests who carry the ark of the testimony to come up out of the Jordan.”

¹⁷ So, Joshua commanded the priests, “Come up out of the Jordan.”

¹³ About forty thousand men, ready and armed for war, passed over before Yahweh to battle, to the plains of Jericho.

¹⁴ In that day the Lord magnified Joshua before all Israel, that they should dread him, as they dreaded Moses, while he lived yet.

¹⁵ And the Lord said to Joshua,

¹⁶ Command thou to the priests that bear the ark of the bond of peace, that they go up from the Jordan.

¹⁷ And Joshua commanded to them, and said, Go ye up from the Jordan.

¹³ And forty thousand of fighters went by their companies, and by their gatherings, on the plain and field places of the city of Jericho. (And forty thousand fighting men went by their companies, over the plains and fields, near the city of Jericho.)

¹⁴ In that day the Lord magnified Joshua before all Israel, that they should dread him, as they dreaded Moses, while he lived yet. (On that day the Lord magnified Joshua before all Israel, so that they would fear him, like they had feared Moses, or so that they would revere him, like they had revered Moses, while he was yet alive.)

¹⁵ And the Lord said to Joshua,

¹⁶ Command thou to the priests that bear the ark of the bond of peace, that they go up from (the) Jordan. (Command thou to the priests who carry the Ark of the Covenant, that they come up from the Jordan River.)

¹⁷ And Joshua commanded to them, and said, Go ye up from (the) Jordan. (And Joshua commanded to them, and said, Come ye up from the Jordan River.)

¹³ about forty thousand, armed ones of the host, passed over before Jehovah for battle, unto the plains of Jericho.

¹⁴ On that day hath Jehovah made Joshua great in the eyes of all Israel, and they reverence him, as they reverenced Moses, all days of his life.

¹⁵ And Jehovah speaketh unto Joshua, saying,

¹⁶ 'Command the priests bearing the ark of the testimony, and they come up out of the Jordan.'

¹⁷ And Joshua commandeth the priests, saying, 'Come ye up out of the Jordan.'
