³⁸ And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with its suburbs, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Mahanaim with its suburbs,

³⁹ Heshbon with its suburbs, Jazer with its suburbs; four cities in all.

⁴⁰ All these were the cities of the children of Merari according to their families, even the rest of the families of the Levites; and their lot was twelve cities.

⁴¹ All the cities of the Levites in the midst of the possession of the children of Israel were forty and eight cities with their suburbs.

³⁸ And out of the tribe of Gad the city of refuge for the slayer, both Ramoth in Galaad, and its suburbs; Camin and its suburbs;

³⁹ and Esbon and its suburbs; and Jazer and its suburbs: the cities were four in all.

⁴⁰ All these cities were given to the sons of Merari according to the families of them that were left out of the tribe of Levi; and their limits were the twelve cities.

⁴¹ All the cities of the Levites in the midst of the possession of the children of Israel, were forty-eight cities,

³⁸ And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Mahanaim with her suburbs,

³⁹ Heshbon with her suburbs, Jazer with her suburbs; four cities in all.

⁴⁰ So all the cities for the children of Merari by their families, which were remaining of the families of the Levites, were by their lot twelve cities.

⁴¹ All the cities of the Levites within the possession of the children of Israel were forty and eight cities with their suburbs.

³⁸ And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Mahanaim with her suburbs,

³⁸ All these cities were given to the sons of Merari according to the families of them that were left out of the tribe of Levi; and their limits were the twelve cities.

³⁹ All the cities of the Levites in the midst of the possession of the children of Israel, were forty-eight cities,

⁴⁰ and their suburbs round about these cities: a city and the suburbs round about the city to all these cities: and Joshua ceased dividing the land by their borders: and the children of Israel gave a portion to Joshua because of the commandment of the Lord: they gave him the city which he asked: they gave him Thamnasachar in mount Ephraim; and Joshua built the city, and lived in it: and Joshua took the knives of stone, wherewith he circumcised the children of Israel that were born in the desert by the way, and put them in Thamnasachar.

⁴¹ So the Lord gave to Israel all the land which he sware to give to their fathers: and they inherited it, and lived in it.

³⁸ And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbs, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Mahanaim with her suburbs;

³⁹ Heshbon with her suburbs, Jazer with her suburbs; four cities in all.

⁴⁰ All these were the cities of the children of Merari according to their families, even the rest of the families of the Levites; and their lot was twelve cities.

⁴¹ All the cities of the Levites in the midst of the possession of the children of Israel were forty and eight cities with their suburbs.

³⁸ From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Gad they were allotted four cities. They were Ramoth, which was one of the cities in the Gilead region to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected, Mahanaim,

³⁹ Heshbon, and Jazer.

⁴⁰ Altogether twelve cities were allotted to the Merari clans.

⁴¹ So altogether forty-eight cities were allotted to the tribe of Levi,

³⁸ All these cities were given to the sons of Merari according to the families of them that were left out of the tribe of Levi; and their limits were the twelve cities.

³⁹ All the cities of the Levites in the midst of the possession of the children of Israel, were forty-eight cities,

³⁸ And from the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead, the town where the taker of life might be safe, and Mahanaim with their grass-lands;

³⁹ Heshbon and Jazer with their grass-lands, four towns.

⁴⁰ All these towns were given to the children of Merari by their families, that is, the rest of the families of the Levites; and their heritage was twelve towns.

⁴¹ All the towns of the Levites, among the heritage of the children of Israel, were forty-eight towns with their grass-lands.

³⁸ and out of the tribe of Gad, the city of refuge for the slayer, Ramoth in Gilead and its suburbs; and Mahanaim and its suburbs,

³⁹ Heshbon and its suburbs, Jaazer and its suburbs: four cities in all.

⁴⁰ These were all the cities of the children of Merari according to their families, which remained of the families of the Levites, and their lot was twelve cities.

⁴¹ All the cities of the Levites within the possession of the children of Israel were forty-eight cities and their suburbs.

³⁸ All the cities of the children of Merari by their families and kindreds, were twelve.

³⁹ So all the cities of the Levites within the possession of the children of Israel were forty-eight,

⁴⁰ With their suburbs, each distributed by the families.

⁴¹ And the Lord God gave to Israel all the land that he had sworn to give to their fathers: and they possessed it and dwelt in it.

³⁸ From the tribe of Gad the following four towns and their pastures: Ramoth in Gilead (a sanctuary town for those who accidentally committed murder), Mahanaim,

³⁹ Heshbon, and Jazer.

⁴⁰ So in total twelve towns were allotted to the families of Merari, those remaining from the tribe of Levi.

⁴¹ The Levites received a total of forty-eight towns and pastures within the land of the Israelites.

³⁸ And out of the tribe of Gad they gaue for a citie of refuge for the slaier, Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbes, and Mahanaim with her suburbes,

³⁹ Heshbon with her suburbs, and Iazer with her suburbes: foure cities in all.

⁴⁰ So all the cities of the children of Merari according to their families (which were the rest of the families of the Leuites) were by their lot, twelue cities.

⁴¹ And all the cities of the Leuites within the possession of the children of Israel, were eight and fourtie with their suburbes.

³⁸ And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with the open land about it, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Mahanaim with the open land about it;

³⁹ Heshbon with the open land about it, Jazer with the open land about it; four cities in all.

⁴⁰ All these were the cities of the children of Merari according to their families, even the rest of the families of the Levites; and their lot was twelve cities.

⁴¹ All the cities of the Levites — forty and eight cities with the open land about them — shall be in the midst of the possession of the children of Israel,

³⁸ And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Mahanaim with her suburbs,

³⁹ Heshbon with her suburbs, Jazer with her suburbs; four cities in all.

⁴⁰ So all the cities for the children of Merari by their families, which were remaining of the families of the Levites, were by their lot twelve cities.

³⁸ (21:36) And from the tribe of Gad, the city of refuge for the manslayer, Ramoth in Gil'ad with its open spaces, and Machanayim with its open spaces,

³⁹ (21:37) Cheshbon with its open spaces, Ya'zer with its open spaces: four cities in all.

⁴⁰ (21:38) All the cities for the children of Merari after their families, they who were remaining of the families of the Levites, even their lot was twelve cities.

⁴¹ (21:39) All the cities of the Levites in the midst of the possession of the children of Israel were forty and eight cities with their open spaces.

³⁸ And out of the tribe of Gad the city of refuge for the slayer, both Ramoth in Gilead, and its suburbs; Camin and its suburbs;

³⁹ and Heshbon and its suburbs; and Jazer and its suburbs: the cities were four in all.

³⁸ Out of the tribe of Gad they were given Ramoth in Gilead with its pasturelands—a city of refuge for any who killed another unintentionally—and Mahanaim with its pasturelands.

³⁹ The clans of Merari were also given Heshbon with its pasturelands, and Jazer with its pasturelands. These were four cities in all.

⁴⁰ All these were the cities of the several clans of Merari, who were from the tribe of Levi—twelve cities in all were given to them by the casting of lots.

⁴¹ The cities of the Levites taken from the middle of the land possessed by the people of Israel were forty-eight cities, including their pasturelands.

³⁸ Out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with its pasture lands, the city of refuge for the man slayer, and Mahanaim with its pasture lands,

³⁹ Heshbon with its pasture lands, Jazer with its pasture lands: four cities in all.

³⁸ And of the lineage of Reuben, beyond Jordan, against Jericho, he gave the city of refuge, Bezer in the wilderness of Mizar, and Jahazah,

³⁹ and Kedemoth, and Mephaath; four cities, with their suburbs.

⁴⁰ All the cities given to the sons of Merari, by their meines and kindreds, were twelve.

⁴¹ And so all the cities of Levites, in the midst of the possession of the sons of Israel, were eight and forty, with their suburbs;

³⁸ And (out) of the lineage of Reuben, beyond (the) Jordan, against Jericho, (or And from the tribe of Reuben, on the eastern side of the Jordan River, near Jericho), he gave the city of refuge, Bezer in the wilderness of Mizar, and Jahazah,

³⁹ and Kedemoth, and Mephaath; four cities, with their suburbs.

⁴⁰ (So) All the cities given to the sons of Merari, by their families and kindreds, were twelve (cities).

⁴¹ And so all the cities of (the) Levites, in the midst of the possession(s) of the sons of Israel, were eight and forty (cities), with their suburbs;

³⁸ And out of the tribe of Gad, the city of refuge for the man-slayer, Ramoth in Gilead and its suburbs, and Mahanaim and its suburbs,

³⁹ Heshbon and its suburbs, Jazer and its suburbs — in all four cities.

⁴⁰ All the cities for the sons of Merari, for their families, who are left of the families of the Levites — their lot is twelve cities.

⁴¹ All the cities of the Levites in the midst of the possession of the sons of Israel are forty and eight cities, and their suburbs.
