²¹ and all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses smote with the chiefs of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, the princes of Sihon, that dwelt in the land.

²² Balaam also the son of Beor, the soothsayer, did the children of Israel slay with the sword among the rest of their slain.

²³ And the border of the children of Reuben was the Jordan, and the border thereof. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben according to their families, the cities and the villages thereof.

²⁴ And Moses gave unto the tribe of Gad, unto the children of Gad, according to their families.

²⁵ And their border was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, unto Aroer that is before Rabbah;

²⁶ and from Heshbon unto Ramath-mizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim unto the border of Debir;

²⁷ and in the valley, Beth-haram, and Beth-nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, the Jordan and the border thereof, unto the uttermost part of the sea of Chinnereth beyond the Jordan eastward.

²⁸ This is the inheritance of the children of Gad according to their families, the cities and the villages thereof.

²⁹ And Moses gave inheritance unto the half-tribe of Manasseh: and it was for the half-tribe of the children of Manasseh according to their families.

²¹ and all the cities of Misor, and all the kingdom of Seon king of the Amorites, whom Moses smote, even him and the princes of Madian, and Evi, and Roboc, and Sur, and Ur, and Robe prince of the spoils of Sion, and the inhabitants of Sion.

²² And Balaam the son of Bæor the prophet they slew in the battle.

²³ And the borders of Ruben were—even Jordan was the boundary; this is the inheritance of the children of Ruben according to their families, these were their cities and their villages.

²⁴ And Moses gave inheritance to the sons of Gad according to their families.

²⁵ And their borders were Jazer, all the cities of Galaad, and half the land of the children of Ammon to Araba, which is before Arad.

²⁶ And from Esebon to Araboth by Massepha, and Botanim, and Maan to the borders of Dæbon,

²⁷ and Enadom, and Othargai, and Bænthanabra, and Soccotha, and Saphan, and the rest of the kingdom of Seon king of Esebon: and Jordan shall be the boundary as far as part of the sea of Chenereth beyond Jordan eastward.

²⁸ This is the inheritance of the children of Gad according to their families and according to their cities: according to their families they will turn their backs before their enemies, because their cities and their villages were according to their families.

²⁹ And Moses gave to half the tribe of Manasse according to their families.

²⁹ And Moses gave inheritance unto the half tribe of Manasseh: and it was for the half tribe of the children of Manasseh according to their families.

²¹ That land included all the towns on the plain and all the area that King Sihon had previously ruled. But the army of Moses had defeated him and the rulers of the Midian people-group: Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba. The armies of all those rulers fought battles along with the army of Sihon, and they lived in that country.

²² The Israeli army killed many people during those battles, including Balaam, the prophet from Beor, who tried to use magic to predict/tell what would happen in the future.

²³ The western boundary of the land that was allotted to the clans of the tribe of Reuben was the Jordan River.

²⁴ Moses also allotted some land to each clan in the tribe of Gad.

²⁵ Their land included the Jazer area and all the towns of the Gilead area; half of the land where the Ammon people-group lived, as far as Aroer town which is near Rabbah town;

²⁶ the area from Heshbon city to Ramath-Mizpah and Betonim towns; the area from Mahanaim town to the Debir region;

²⁷ Beth-Haram, Beth-Nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon cities in the valley; and the other area that King Sihon had ruled on the east side of the Jordan River. That area extended north to the southern end of Galilee Lake.

²⁸ All this land, including the towns and villages, was allotted to the tribe of Gad.

²⁹ Moses also had allotted some of the land on the east side of the Jordan River to half of the tribe of Manasseh.

²² And Balaam, the son of Beor, the prophet, the children of Israel put to death with the sword.

²³ And the limit of the children of Reuben was the edge of Jordan. This was the heritage of the children of Reuben by their families, with its towns and its unwalled places.

²⁴ And Moses gave their heritage to the tribe of Gad by their families.

²⁵ And their limit was Jazer, and all the towns of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, to Aroer before Rabbah;

²⁶ And from Heshbon to Ramath-mizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim to the edge of Debir;

²⁷ And in the valley, Beth-haram, and Beth-nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon, king of Heshbon, having Jordan for its limit, to the end of the sea of Chinnereth on the east side of Jordan.

²⁸ This is the heritage of the children of Gad by their families, with its towns and its unwalled places

²⁹ And Moses gave their heritage to the half-tribe of Manasseh by their families.

²¹ all the cities of the plateau, and the whole kingdom of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who reigned at Heshbon, whom Moses smote, him and the princes of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, the chiefs of Sihon dwelling in the land.

²² And Balaam the son of Beor, the diviner, did the children of Israel kill with the sword among them that were slain by them.

²³ And the border of the children of Reuben was the Jordan, and its border. This is the inheritance of the children of Reuben according to their families, the cities and their hamlets.

²⁴ And Moses gave a portion to the tribe of Gad, to the children of Gad according to their families.

²⁵ And their territory was Jaazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, to Aroer which is before Rabbah;

²⁶ and from Heshbon to Ramath-Mizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim to the border of Debir;

²⁷ and in the valley, Beth-haram, and Beth-Nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon the king of Heshbon, the Jordan and its border, as far as the edge of the sea of Chinnereth beyond the Jordan eastward.

²⁸ This is the inheritance of the children of Gad according to their families, the cities and their hamlets.

²⁹ And Moses gave a portion to half the tribe of Manasseh; and for half the tribe of the children of Manasseh according to their families:

²¹ And all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdoms of Sehon king of the Amorrhites, that reigned in Hesebon, whom Moses slew with the princes of Madian: Hevi, and Recem, and Sur and Hur, and Rebe, dukes of Sehon inhabitants of the land.

²² Balaam also the son of Beer the soothsayer, the children of Israel slew with the sword among the rest that were slain.

²³ And the river Jordan was the herder of the children of Ruben. This is the possession of the Rubenites, by their kindreds, of cities and villages.

²⁴ And Moses gave to the tribe of Gad and to his children by their kindreds a possession, of which this is the division.

²⁵ The border of Jaser, and all the cities of Galaad, and half the land of the children of Ammon: as far as Aroer which is over against Rabba:

²⁶ And from Hesebon unto Ramoth, Masphe and Betonim: and from Manaim unto the borders of Dabir.

²⁷ And in the valley Betharan and Bethnemra, and Socoth, and Saphon the other part of the kingdom of Sehon king of Hesebon: the limit of this also is the Jordan, as far as the uttermost part of the sea of Cenereth beyond the Jordan on the east side.

²⁸ This is the possession of the children of Gad by their families, their cities, and villages.

²⁹ He gave also to the half tribe of Manasses and his children possession according to their kindreds,

²¹ all the towns of the plateau and all the kingdom of Sihon, the Amorite king, who ruled in Heshbon. He was defeated by Moses, as well as the Midianite leaders Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba, princes who lived in the kingdom and who were allied to Sihon.

²² At the same time the Israelites killed Balaam, son of Beor, the fortune-teller, along with the others who were slaughtered.

²³ The Jordan was the boundary for the tribe of Reuben. This was the land, the towns and the villages, allotted to the tribe of Reuben, by families.

²⁴ This was the land that Moses allotted to the tribe of Gad, by families:

²⁵ Their territory was Jazer, all the towns of Gilead, and half of the land of the Ammonites up to Aroer, near Rabbah;

²⁶ stretching from Heshbon to Ramath-mizpeh and Betonim, and from Mahanaim to the Debir region.

²⁷ In the Jordan valley lay Beth-haram, Beth-nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon, king of Heshbon. The boundary ran along the Jordan up to the bottom end of the sea of Kinnereth and then ran east.

²⁸ This was the land, the towns and the villages, allotted to the tribe of Gad, by families.

²⁹ This was the land that Moses allotted to the half-tribe of Manasseh, that is half of the tribe of the descendants of Manasseh, by families:

²¹ And all the cities of the plaine: and all the kingdome of Sihon King of the Amorites, which reigned in Heshbon, whome Moses smote with the Princes of Midian, Eui, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, the dukes of Sihon, dwelling in the countrey.

²² And Balaam the sonne of Beor the soothsayer did the children of Israel slay with the sword, among them that were slaine.

²³ And the border of the children of Reuben was Iorden with the coastes. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben according to their families, with the cities and their villages.

²⁴ Also Moses gaue inheritance vnto ye tribe of Gad, euen vnto the children of Gad according to their families.

²⁵ And their coastes were Iazer, and all the cities of Gilead and halfe the lande of the children of Ammon vnto Aroer, which is before Rabbah:

²⁶ And from Heshbon vnto Ramoth, Mizpeh, and Betonim: and from Mahanaim vnto the borders of Debir:

²⁷ And in the valley Beth-aram, and Bethnimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdome of Sihon King of Heshbon, vnto Iorden and the borders euen vnto the Sea coast of Cinneereth, beyond Iorden Eastward.

²⁸ This is the inheritance of the children of Gad, after their families, with the cities, and their villages.

²⁹ Also Moses gaue inheritance vnto the halfe tribe of Manasseh: and this belonged to the halfe tribe of the children of Manasseh according to their families.

²¹ and all the cities of the table-land, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses smote with the chiefs of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, the princes of Sihon, that dwelt in the land.

²² And Bil'am the son of Be'or, the soothsayer, did the children of Israel slay with the sword among their slain.

²³ And the boundary of the children of Reuben was the Jordan, and its bordering territory. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben after their families, the cities and their villages.

²⁴ And Moses gave unto the tribe of Gad, unto the children of Gad according to their families;

²⁵ And their territory was Ya'zer, and all the cities of Gil'ad, and half the land of the children of 'Ammon, up to 'Aro'er that is before Rabbah;

²⁶ And from Cheshbon unto Ramath-mizpeh, and Betonim; and from Machanayim up to the border of Debir;

²⁷ And in the valley, Beth-haram, and Beth-nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sichon the king of Cheshbon, the Jordan and its bordering territory, up to the edge of the sea of Kinnereth on the other side of the Jordan eastward.

²⁸ This is the inheritance of the children of Gad after their families, the cities and their villages.

²⁹ And Moses gave unto the half tribe of Menasseh; and it belonged to the half tribe of the children of Menasseh after their families;

²¹ and all the cities of Misor, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, whom Moses smote, even him and the princes of Midian, and Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba prince of the spoils of Sihon, and the inhabitants of Sihon.

²⁴ And Moses gave inheritance to the sons of Gad according to their families.

²⁵ And their borders were Jazer, all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon to Aroer, which is before Arad.

²⁶ And from Heshbon to Araboth by Mizpeh, and Betonim, and Mahanaim to the borders of Debir,

²⁷ and Enadom, and Beth-haram, and Beth-nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, and the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon: and Jordan shall be the boundary as far as part of the Sea of Chinnereth beyond Jordan eastward.

²⁸ This is the inheritance of the children of Gad according to their families and according to their cities: according to their families they will turn their backs before their enemies, because their cities and their villages were according to their families.

²⁹ And Moses gave to half the tribe of Manasseh according to their families.

²¹ all the cities of the plateau, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who had reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses had defeated together with the leaders of Midian, Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur and Reba, the princes of Sihon, who had lived in the land.

²² The people of Israel also killed with the sword Balaam son of Beor, who practiced divination, among the rest of those they had killed.

²³ The border of the tribe of Reuben is the Jordan River; this is their boundary. This was the inheritance of the tribe of Reuben, given to each of their clans, with their cities and villages.

²⁴ This is what Moses gave to the tribe of Gad, clan by clan:

²⁵ Their territory was Jazer, all the cities of Gilead and half the land of the Ammonites, to Aroer, which is east of Rabbah,

²⁶ from Heshbon to Ramath Mizpah and Betonim, from Mahanaim to the territory of Debir.

²⁷ In the valley, Moses gave them Beth Haram, Beth Nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, with the Jordan as a border, to the lower end of the Sea of Kinnereth, eastward beyond the Jordan.

²⁸ This is the inheritance of the tribe of Gad, clan by clan, with their cities and villages.

²⁹ Moses gave an inheritance to the half tribe of Manasseh. It was assigned to the half tribe of the people of Manasseh, clan by clan.

²¹ all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses struck with the chiefs of Midian, Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba, the princes of Sihon, who lived in the land.

²² The children of Israel also killed Balaam the son of Beor, the soothsayer, with the sword, among the rest of their slain.

²³ The border of the children of Reuben was the bank of the Jordan. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben according to their families, the cities and its villages.

²⁴ Moses gave to the tribe of Gad, to the children of Gad, according to their families.

²² Balaam also the son of Beor, the sooth-sayer, did the children of Israel slay with the sword, among them that were slain by them.

²³ And the border of the children of Reuben was Jordan, and its border. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben after their families, the cities and their villages.

²⁴ And Moses gave inheritance to the tribe of Gad, even to the children of Gad according to their families.

²⁵ And their border was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, to Aroer that is before Rabbah;

²² And the sons of Israel killed by sword, Balaam, the false diviner, the son of Beor, with other men slain there.

²³ And the term of the sons of Reuben was made the flood of Jordan; this is the possession of men of Reuben, by their kindreds, of cities and towns.

²⁴ And Moses gave a possession to the lineage of Gad, and to his sons, by their kindreds, of the which possession this is the parting;

²⁵ he gave the terms of Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and the half part of the land of the sons of Ammon, unto Aroer that is against Rabbah;

²⁶ and from Heshbon unto Ramath of Mizpeh, and Betonim, and Mahanaim, unto the terms of Debir;

²⁷ and in the valley he gave to them Betharam, and Bethnimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, that was the tother part of the realm of Sihon, the king of Heshbon; and the end of that term is Jordan, unto the last part of the sea of Chinnereth over Jordan, at the east coast.

²⁸ This is the possession of the sons of Gad, by their meines, the cities and the towns of them.

²⁹ Moses gave also possession to the half lineage of Manasseh, and to his sons, by their kindreds, of which possession this is the beginning;

²¹ (and) all the field cities, and all the realms of Sihon, king of Amorites, that reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses smote, with his princes (of) Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, the dukes of Sihon, dwellers of the land. (and all the field cities, and all the kingdoms of Sihon, the king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses struck down together with the Midianite leaders, that is, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, who were Sihon’s surrogates, and who lived in the land.)

²² And the sons of Israel killed by (the) sword, Balaam, the false diviner, the son of Beor, with other men slain there.

²³ And the term of the sons of Reuben was made the flood of Jordan (or And the western border of the sons of Reuben was the Jordan River); this is the possession of (the) men of Reuben, by their kindreds, (yea), of (their) cities and towns.

²⁴ And Moses gave a possession to the lineage of Gad, and to his sons, by their kindreds, of the which possession this is the parting;

²⁵ he gave the terms of Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and the half part of the land of the sons of Ammon, unto Aroer that is against Rabbah; (their territory included Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half of the land of the Ammonites, unto Aroer, that is east of Rabbah;)

²⁶ and from Heshbon unto Ramath of Mizpeh, and Betonim, and Mahanaim, unto the terms of Debir (or unto the border of Lodebar);

²⁷ and in the valley he gave to them Betharam, and Bethnimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, that was the tother part of the realm of Sihon, the king of Heshbon; and the end of that term is (the) Jordan, unto the last part of the sea of Chinnereth over (the) Jordan, at the east coast, (or and the border was the Jordan River, unto the last part of the Sea of Galilee, or Lake Galilee, east of the Jordan River).

²⁸ This is the possession of the sons of Gad, by their families, (yea), the cities and the towns of them.

²⁹ Moses gave also (a) possession to the half lineage of Manasseh, and to his sons (or and to their sons), by their kindreds, of which possession this is the beginning; (And Moses also gave a possession to the eastern half of the tribe of Manasseh, and to their sons, by their families, of which possession this is the beginning;)

²¹ and all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorite, who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses smote, with the princes of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, princes of Sihon, inhabitants of the land.

²² And Balaam, son of Beor, the diviner, have the sons of Israel slain with the sword, among their wounded ones.

²³ And the border of the sons of Reuben is the Jordan, and its border; this is the inheritance of the sons of Reuben, for their families, the cities and their villages.

²⁴ And Moses giveth to the tribe of Gad, to the sons of Gad, for their families;

²⁵ and the border is to them Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and the half of the land of the Bene-Ammon, unto Aroer which is on the front of Rabbah,

²⁶ and from Heshbon unto Ramath-Mispeh, and Betonim, and from Mahanaim unto the border of Debir,

²⁷ and in the valley, Beth-Aram, and Beth-Nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, the Jordan and its border, unto the extremity of the sea of Chinnereth, beyond the Jordan, eastward.

²⁸ This is the inheritance of the sons of Gad, for their families, the cities and their villages.

²⁹ And Moses giveth to the half of the tribe of Manasseh; and it is to the half of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, for their families.
