John 4:7-10

⁷A woman of Samaria comes to draw water. Jesus says to her, “Give me a drink.”

⁸(His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)

⁹So the Samaritan woman says to Him, “How can you, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, being a Samaritan woman?” (for Jews do not associate with Samaritans).

¹⁰Jesus answered and said to her: “If you knew the gift of God, and who is the one saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”
