³ And nations shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

⁴ Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: they all gather themselves together, they come to thee; thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be carried in the arms.

⁵ Then thou shalt see and be radiant, and thy heart shall thrill and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be turned unto thee, the wealth of the nations shall come unto thee.

⁶ The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come; they shall bring gold and frankincense, and shall proclaim the praises of Jehovah.

⁷ All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee; they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar; and I will glorify the house of my glory.

⁸ Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?

⁹ Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, for the name of Jehovah thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.

¹⁰ And foreigners shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favor have I had mercy on thee.

¹¹ Thy gates also shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the wealth of the nations, and their kings led captive.

¹² For that nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted.

¹³ The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir-tree, the pine, and the box-tree together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.

¹⁴ And the sons of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee The city of Jehovah, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁵ Whereas thou hast been forsaken and hated, so that no man passed through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.

¹⁶ Thou shalt also suck the milk of the nations, and shalt suck the breast of kings; and thou shalt know that I, Jehovah, am thy Saviour, and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

¹⁷ For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron. I will also make thy officers peace, and thine exactors righteousness.

¹⁸ Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, desolation nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.

¹⁹ The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but Jehovah will be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

²⁰ Thy sun shall no more go down, neither shall thy moon withdraw itself; for Jehovah will be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

²¹ Thy people also shall be all righteous; they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

²² The little one shall become a thousand, and the small one a strong nation; I, Jehovah, will hasten it in its time.

³ And kings shall walk in thy light, and nations in thy brightness.

⁶ and the camels of Madiam and Gæpha shall cover thee: all from Saba shall come bearing gold, and shall bring frankincense, and they shall publish the salvation of the Lord.

⁷ And all the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered, and the rams of Nabæoth shall come; and acceptable sacrifices shall be offered on my altar, and my house of prayer shall be glorified.

⁸ Who are these that fly as clouds, and as doves with young ones to me?

⁹ The isles have waited for me, and the ships of Tharsis among the first, to bring thy children from afar, and their silver and their gold with them, and that for the sake of the holy name of the Lord, and because the Holy One of Israel is glorified.

¹⁰ And strangers shall build thy walls, and their kings shall wait upon thee: for by reason of my wrath I smote thee, and by reason of mercy I loved thee.

¹¹ And thy gates shall be opened continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; to bring in to thee the power of the Gentiles, and their kings as captives.

¹² For the nations and the kings which will not serve thee shall perish; and those nations shall be made utterly desolate.

¹³ And the glory of Libanus shall come to thee, with the cypress, and pine, and cedar together, to glorify my holy place.

³ By seeing what he has done for you, people of all people-groups will see that he is very great, and kings will come to see the wonderful things that have happened to you.

⁴ Yahweh says, “Look around and you will see the people who will be returning from ◄exile/countries to which they have been forced to go►! Your sons will come from distant countries; others will carry your little daughters home.

⁵ When you look at this happening, you will be very joyful DOU, because people will bring valuable goods to you from all around the world. They will bring in ships valuable things from many nations.

⁶ People will also bring valuable goods to you on herds/caravans of camels: Camels from the Midian and Ephah areas of northern Arabia. And from Sheba in southern Arabia they will come, bringing gold and frankincense; they will all come to praise me, Yahweh.

⁷ They will bring flocks of sheep and goats from Kedar in northern Arabia and give them to you. They will bring PRS rams from Nebaioth for you to sacrifice on my altars, and I will accept them happily. At that time I will cause my temple to be very beautifully decorated.

⁸ And what are those things that are moving swiftly like SIM clouds? They resemble SIM doves returning to their nests.

⁹ But they are really ships from Tarshish that are bringing your people back here. When your people come, they will bring with them all the valuable possessions that they have acquired, and they will do that to honor me, Yahweh, your God, the Holy One of Israel, because I will have greatly honored you.

¹⁰ Foreigners will come and rebuild the walls of your cities, and their kings will serve/help you. Although I punished you because I was angry with you, these things will happen now because I will act mercifully toward you because I am kind.

¹¹ The gates of your cities will be open during the day and also during the night, in order that people will be able to bring into your cities valuable things from many countries, with their kings being led to you in the processions.

¹² And the kingdoms and nations whose people refuse to allow you to rule them will be completely destroyed DOU.

¹³ The glorious/beautiful things in Lebanon will be brought to you— lumber from cypress trees and fir trees and pine trees — to be used to make my temple beautiful. When that is done, my temple MTY will truly be glorious!

¹⁴ The descendants of those who ◄oppressed you/treated you cruelly► will come and bow down to you; those who despised you will prostrate themselves in front of your feet. They will say that your city on Zion Hill is the City of Yahweh, where the Holy One of Israel lives.

¹⁵ Previously everyone hated you and ignored you, but now your city will be majestic/honored forever; and I will cause you to be joyful forever.

¹⁶ People of all nations and their kings will gladly bring MET their wealth to you. And when that happens, you will realize that I truly am Yahweh, the one who saves you and rescues you from your enemies, and that I am the mighty one to whom you Israeli people belong.

¹⁷ Instead of metals that are not valuable, like bronze and iron, I will bring to you silver and gold. Instead of wood and stones, I will bring you bronze and iron for your buildings. There will be peace in your country, and your rulers will do what is fair/just.

¹⁸ People in your country will no longer act violently, and people will no longer destroy your land and cause it to become desolate/ruined. The people in the city will be safe, and everyone there will praise me MTY.

¹⁹ And you will no longer need the sun and moon to give you light, because I, Yahweh, will give you more light than the sun and moon; I will be a glorious light for you forever.

²⁰ It will seem as though the sun and moon will always be shining LIT, because I, Yahweh, will be an everlasting light for you. You will never again be sad because of things that happen to you.

²¹ Your people will all be righteous, and they will occupy the land forever, because I myself have put you there like people plant trees MET in order that you will show others that I am very great.

²² At that time, the groups that are very small now will become very large clans, and small clans will become great nations. All those things will happen because, I, Yahweh, will cause them to happen at the right time.”

¹³ “The glory of Lebanon shall come to you, the cypress tree, the pine, and the box tree together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.

¹⁶ You will also drink the milk of the nations, and will nurse from royal breasts. Then you will know that I, Yahweh, am your Savior, your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

¹⁷ For bronze I will bring gold; for iron I will bring silver; for wood, bronze, and for stones, iron. I will also make peace your governor, and righteousness your ruler.

¹⁸ Violence shall no more be heard in your land, nor desolation or destruction within your borders; but you will call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.

¹⁹ The sun will be no more your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon give light to you, but Yahweh will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.

²⁰ Your sun will not go down any more, nor will your moon withdraw itself; for Yahweh will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning will end.

²¹ Then your people will all be righteous. They will inherit the land forever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

²² The little one will become a thousand, and the small one a strong nation. I, Yahweh, will do this quickly in its time.”

⁴ Let your eyes be lifted up, and see: they are all coming together to you: your sons will come from far, and your daughters taken with loving care.

⁵ Then you will see, and be bright with joy, and your heart will be shaking with increase of delight: for the produce of the sea will be turned to you, the wealth of the nations will come to you.

⁶ You will be full of camel-trains, even the young camels of Midian and Ephah; all from Sheba will come, with gold and spices, giving word of the great acts of the Lord.

⁷ All the flocks of Kedar will come together to you, the sheep of Nebaioth will be ready for your need; they will be pleasing offerings on my altar, and my house of prayer will be beautiful.

⁸ Who are these coming like a cloud, like a flight of doves to their windows?

⁹ Vessels of the sea-lands are waiting for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, so that your sons may come from far, and their silver and gold with them, to the place of the name of the Lord your God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he has made you beautiful.

¹⁰ And men from strange countries will be building up your walls, and their kings will be your servants: for in my wrath I sent punishment on you, but in my grace I have had mercy on you.

¹¹ Your doors will be open at all times; they will not be shut day or night; so that men may come into you with the wealth of the nations, with their kings at their head.

¹² For the nation or kingdom which will not be your servant will come to destruction; such nations will be completely waste.

¹³ The glory of Lebanon will come to you, the cypress, the plane, and the sherbin-tree together, to make my holy place beautiful; and the resting-place of my feet will be full of glory.

¹⁴ And the sons of those who were cruel to you will come before you with bent heads; and those who made sport of you will go down on their faces at your feet; and you will be named, The Town of the Lord, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁵ And though you were turned away from, and hated, and had no helper, I will make you a pride for ever, a joy from generation to generation.

¹⁶ And you will take the milk of the nations, flowing from the breast of kings; and you will see that I, the Lord, am your saviour, and he who takes up your cause, the Strong One of Jacob.

¹⁷ In place of brass, I will give gold, and for iron silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron: and I will make Peace your judge, and Righteousness your overseer.

¹⁸ Violent acts will no longer be seen in your land, wasting or destruction in your limits; but your walls will be named, Salvation, and your doors Praise.

¹⁹ The sun will not be your light by day, and the moon will no longer be bright for you by night: but the Lord will be to you an eternal light, and your God your glory.

²⁰ Your sun will never again go down, or your moon keep back her light: for the Lord will be your eternal light, and the days of your sorrow will be ended.

²¹ Your people will all be upright, the land will be their heritage for ever; the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, to be for my glory.

²² The smallest of their families will become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I, the Lord, will make it come quickly in its time.

³ And the nations shall walk by thy light, and kings by the brightness of thy rising.

⁴ Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons come from afar, and thy daughters are carried upon the side.

⁵ Then thou shalt see, and shalt be brightened, and thy heart shall throb, and be enlarged; for the abundance of the sea shall be turned unto thee, the wealth of the nations shall come unto thee.

⁶ A multitude of camels shall cover thee, young camels of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall publish the praises of Jehovah.

⁸ Who are these that come flying as a cloud, and as doves to their dove-cotes?

⁹ For the isles shall await me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from afar, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of Jehovah thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, for he hath glorified thee.

¹⁰ And the sons of the alien shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee. For in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee.

¹⁴ And the children of them that afflict thee, shall come bowing down to thee, and all that slandered thee shall worship the steps of thy feet, and shall call thee the city of the Lord, the Sion of the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁵ Because thou wast forsaken, and hated, and there was none that passed through thee, I will make thee to be an everlasting glory, a joy unto generation and generation:

¹⁶ And thou shalt suck the milk of the Gentiles, and thou shalt be nursed with the breasts of kings: and thou shalt know that I am the Lord thy Saviour, and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

¹⁹ Thou shalt no more have the sun for thy light by day, neither shall the brightness of the moon enlighten thee: but the Lord shall be unto thee for an everlasting light, and thy God for thy glory.

²⁰ Thy sun shall go down no more, and thy moon shall not decrease: for the Lord shall be unto thee for an everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

²¹ And thy people shall be all just, they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hand to glorify me.

²² The least shall become a thousand, and a little one a most strong nation: I the Lord will suddenly do this thing in its time.

³ Nations will come to your light, and kings will come to the brightness of your shining dawn.

⁴ Look all around you, and see everyone gathering and coming to you—your sons returning from far away, your young daughters being carried on the hip.

⁵ Then you will see and shine brilliantly, your heart will beat wildly for joy, for the riches that cross the sea, the wealth of the nations, will be brought to you.

⁶ Long caravans of camels will cover the land, young camels of Midian and Ephah. All the people of Sheba will come to you carrying gold and frankincense, shouting praises to the Lord.

⁷ All the flocks of Kedar will be brought to you, the rams of Nebaioth will be placed at your disposal. I will accept them as they are sacrificed on my altar, and I will glorify the Temple where I'm honored.

⁸ What are these flying like a cloud, flying like pigeons returning to their roost?

⁹ Coming from the islands that trust in me, these are ships led by those of Tarshish, bringing your children home from far away, carrying with them silver and gold. They come to honor of the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has made you glorious.

¹⁰ Foreigners will rebuild your walls, and their kings will work for you. Even though I did hit you when I was angry with you, now I will be kind and merciful to you.

¹¹ Your gates will always be kept open. They won't ever be shut, day or night, so the wealth of the nations can be brought to you, with their kings being led along in a procession.

¹² Any nation or kingdom that does not serve you will be completely destroyed.

¹³ The glory of Lebanon will come to you: cedars, acacias, and myrtle trees, to make my Temple beautiful and to honor the place I choose to live.

¹⁴ The children of those who persecuted you will come and bow before you; everyone who looked down on you will bow down at your feet and will call you the City of the Lord, Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁵ Once you were abandoned and despised, somewhere people didn't go, but now I will make you a place to be proud of forever, a joy to every generation.

¹⁶ Nations will provide you with what you need, kings will take care of you as if you were their own children. You will know that I, the Lord, am your Savior and Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

¹⁷ I will bring you gold instead of bronze, silver instead of iron, bronze instead of wood, and iron instead of stone. I will appoint Peace as your watchman, and Goodness as your leader.

¹⁸ There won't be any more violence in your land, no more devastation and destruction within your borders. You will call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.

¹⁹ You won't need the light of the sun during the day, or the light of the moon at night, for the Lord your God will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.

²⁰ Your sun will never set, and your moon will never wane, for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your time of mourning will end.

²¹ All your people will be good, and they will own the land forever. They are the shoot I have planted with my hands, and they will reveal my glory.

²² The smallest of your families will increase to a thousand, and the most insignificant will become a great nation. I am the Lord; at the right time I will do this quickly.

³ And the Gentiles shall walke in thy light, and Kings at the brightnesse of thy rising vp.

⁴ Lift vp thine eyes round about, and beholde: all these are gathered, and come to thee: thy sonnes shall come from farre, and thy daughters shalbe nourished at thy side.

⁵ Then thou shalt see and shine: thine heart shall be astonied and enlarged, because the multitude of the sea shalbe conuerted vnto thee, and the riches of the Gentiles shall come vnto thee.

¹⁶ Thou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt suck the breast of kings: and thou shalt know that I the LORD am thy Savior and thy Redeemer, the mighty one of Jacob.

¹⁷ For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron: I will also make thy officers peace, and thy exactors righteousness.

¹⁸ Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.

¹⁹ The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light to thee: but the LORD will be to thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

²⁰ Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD will be thy everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

²¹ Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

²² A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in its time.

³ Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.

⁴ “Lift up your eyes all around, and see: they all gather themselves together. They come to you. Your sons will come from far away, and your daughters will be carried in arms.

⁵ Then you shall see and be radiant, and your heart will thrill and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea will be turned to you. The wealth of the nations will come to you.

⁶ A multitude of camels will cover you, the dromedaries of Midian and Efah. All from Sheba will come. They will bring gold and frankincense, and will proclaim the praises of the LORD.

⁷ All the flocks of Kedar will be gathered together to you. The rams of Nebaioth will serve you. They will be accepted as offerings on my altar; and I will beautify my glorious house.

⁸ “Who are these who fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?

⁹ Surely the islands will wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring your sons from far away, their silver and their gold with them, for the name of the LORD your God, and for the Holy One of Israel, because he has glorified you.

¹⁰ “Foreigners will build up your walls, and their kings will serve you; for in my wrath I struck you, but in my favor I have had mercy on you.

¹¹ Your gates also shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night, that men may bring to you the wealth of the nations, and their kings led captive.

¹² For that nation and kingdom that will not serve you shall perish; yes, those nations shall be utterly wasted.

¹³ “The glory of Lebanon shall come to you, the cypress tree, the pine, and the box tree together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.

¹⁴ The sons of those who afflicted you will come bowing to you; and all those who despised you will bow themselves down at the soles of your feet. They will call you the LORD’s City, the Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁵ “Whereas you have been forsaken and hated, so that no one passed through you, I will make you an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.

¹⁶ You will also drink the milk of the nations, and will nurse from royal breasts. Then you will know that I, the LORD, am your Savior, your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

²⁰ Your sun will not go down any more, nor will your moon withdraw itself; for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning will end.

²¹ Then your people will all be righteous. They will inherit the land forever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

²² The little one will become a thousand, and the small one a strong nation. I, the LORD, will do this quickly in its time.”

³ Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.

⁴ Raise thine eyes in compass, and see; all these men be gathered together, they be come to thee; thy sons shall come from a far, and thy daughters shall rise from the side.

⁵ Then thou shalt see, and shalt flow; and thine heart shall wonder, and shall be alarged, when the multitude of the sea is converted to thee, the strength of heathen men is come to thee;

⁶ the flowing of camels shall cover thee, the leaders of dromedaries of Midian and of Ephah; all men of Sheba shall come, bringing gold and incense, and telling praising to the Lord.

⁷ Each sheep of Kedar shall be gathered to thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister to thee; they shall be offered on mine acceptable altar, and I shall glorify the house of my majesty.

⁸ Who be these, that fly as clouds, and as culvers at their windows?

⁹ Forsooth isles abide me, and the ships of the sea in the beginning; that I bring thy sons from a far, the silver of them, and the gold of them is with them, to the name of thy Lord God, and to the Holy of Israel; for he shall glorify thee.

¹⁰ And the sons of pilgrims shall build thy walls, and the kings of them shall minister to thee. For I smote thee in mine indignation, and in my reconciling I had mercy on thee.

¹¹ And thy gates shall be opened continually, day and night those or they shall not be closed; that the strength of heathen men be brought to thee, and the kings of them be brought.

¹² For why the folk and realm that serveth not thee, shall perish, and heathen men shall be destroyed by wilderness.

¹³ The glory of the Lebanon shall come to thee, a fir tree, and box tree, and pine apple tree or pine tree together, to adorn the place of mine hallowing; and I shall glorify the place of my feet.

¹⁴ And the sons of them that made thee low, shall come low to thee, and all that backbited thee, shall worship the steps of thy feet; and they shall call thee, A city of the Lord of Zion, of the Holy of Israel.

¹⁵ For that that thou were forsaken, and hated, and none was that passed by thee, I shall set thee into pride, that is, glory and honour, of worlds, joy in generation and into generation.

¹⁶ And thou shalt suck the milk of folks, and thou shalt be suckled with the teat of kings; and thou shalt know that I am the Lord, saving thee, and thine again-buyer, the Strong of Jacob.

¹⁷ For brass I shall bring gold, and for iron I shall bring silver; and brass for wood, and iron for stones; and I shall set thy visitation peace, and thy prelates or provosts, either sovereigns, rightfulness or rightwiseness.

¹⁸ Wickedness shall no more be heard in thy land, neither destroying and defouling in thy coasts; and health shall occupy thy walls, and praising shall occupy thy gates.

¹⁹ The sun shall no more be to thee for to shine by day, neither the brightness of the moon shall lighten thee; but the Lord shall be into everlasting light to thee, and thy God shall be into thy glory.

²⁰ Thy sun shall no more go down, and thy moon shall not be decreased; for the Lord shall be into everlasting light to thee, and the days of thy mourning shall be ful filled.

²¹ Forsooth thy people, all just or rightwise men, without end shall inherit the land, the seed of my planting, the work of mine hand for to be glorified.

²² The least shall be into a thousand, and a little man shall be into a full strong folk. I, the Lord, shall make this thing suddenly, in the time thereof.

³ And heathen men shall go in thy light, and kings in the shining of thy rising. (And the heathen shall come to thy light, and kings to the shining of thy rising sun.)

⁴ Raise thine eyes in compass, and see; all these men be gathered together, they be come to thee; thy sons shall come from a far, and thy daughters shall rise from the side. (Raise up thine eyes, and look all around; all those who be gathered together, have come to thee; thy sons shall come from afar, and thy daughters shall be carried at thy side.)

⁵ Then thou shalt see, and shalt flow; and thine heart shall wonder, and shall be alarged, when the multitude of the sea is converted to thee, the strength of heathen men is come to thee; (Then thou shalt see, and shalt rejoice, and thy heart shall wonder, and shall be enlarged; for the abundance of the sea shall be given to thee, and the wealth of the heathen shall be brought to thee;)

⁶ the flowing of camels shall cover thee, the leaders of dromedaries of Midian and of Ephah, (or a multitude of camels shall cover thy land, the dromedaries of Midian and of Ephah); all men of Sheba shall come, bringing gold and incense, and telling praising to the Lord.

⁷ Each sheep of Kedar shall be gathered to thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister to thee; they shall be offered on mine acceptable altar, and I shall glorify the house of my majesty. (All the sheep of Kedar shall be gathered together for thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall serve thee; they shall be acceptable offerings on my altar, and I shall glorify the majesty of my House, or of my Temple.)

⁸ Who be these, that fly as clouds, and as culvers at their windows? (Who be these, who fly like clouds, and like doves returning home?)

(For the islands shall wait for me, and with the ships of Tarshish leading the way, I shall bring back thy sons and daughters from afar; their silver, and their gold, shall be with them, to honour the name of the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, for he hath glorified thee.)

(And the sons of foreigners shall rebuild thy walls, and their kings shall serve thee. For I struck thee in my anger, but now in reconciliation I have had mercy upon thee.)

¹¹ And thy gates shall be opened continually, day and night those shall not be closed; that the strength of heathen men be brought to thee, and the kings of them be brought. (And thy gates shall be open continually, they shall not be closed day or night; so that the wealth of the heathen can be brought in to thee, and so that their kings can also be brought in to thee.)

¹⁷ For brass I shall bring gold, and for iron I shall bring silver; and brass for wood, and iron for stones; and I shall set thy visitation peace, and thy prelates, either sovereigns, (to show) rightfulness, (or and I shall make thy rulers to act peacefully, and thy sovereigns to show righteousness and justice).

¹⁸ Wickedness shall no more be heard in thy land, neither destroying and defouling in thy coasts; and health shall occupy thy walls (or and deliverance, or salvation, shall occupy thy walls), and praising shall occupy thy gates.

¹⁹ The sun shall no more be to thee for to shine by day, neither the brightness of the moon shall lighten thee (by night); but the Lord shall be into everlasting light to thee, and thy God shall be into thy glory.

²⁰ Thy sun shall no more go down, and thy moon shall not be decreased; for the Lord shall be into everlasting light to thee, and the days of thy mourning shall be ful filled.

²¹ Forsooth thy people, all just men, without end shall inherit the land, (or For thy people, all the just, or all the righteous, shall inherit the land forever), (yea), the seed of my planting, the work of mine hand for to be glorified.

²² The least shall be into a thousand, and a little man shall be into a full strong folk. I, the Lord, shall make this thing suddenly, in the time thereof (or at its proper time).

³ And come have nations to thy light, And kings to the brightness of thy rising.

⁴ Lift up round about thine eyes and see, All of them have been gathered, they have come to thee, Thy sons from afar do come, And thy daughters on the side are supported.

⁵ Then thou seest, and hast become bright, And thine heart hath been afraid and enlarged, For turn unto thee doth the multitude of the sea, The forces of nations do come to thee.

⁶ A company of camels covereth thee, Dromedaries of Midian and Ephah, All of them from Sheba do come, Gold and frankincense they bear, And of the praises of Jehovah they proclaim the tidings.

⁷ All the flock of Kedar are gathered to thee, The rams of Nebaioth do serve thee, They ascend for acceptance Mine altar, And the house of My beauty I beautify.

⁸ Who are these — as a thick cloud they fly, And as doves unto their windows?

⁹ Surely for Me isles do wait, And ships of Tarshish first, To bring thy sons from afar, Their silver and their gold with them, To the name of Jehovah thy God, And to the Holy One of Israel, Because He hath beautified thee.

¹⁰ And sons of a stranger have built thy walls, And their kings do serve thee, For in My wrath I have smitten thee, And in My good pleasure I have pitied thee.

¹¹ And opened have thy gates continually, By day and by night they are not shut, To bring unto thee the force of nations, Even their kings are led.

¹² For the nation and the kingdom that do not serve thee perish, Yea, the nations are utterly wasted.

¹³ The honour of Lebanon unto thee doth come, Fir, pine, and box together, To beautify the place of My sanctuary, And the place of My feet I make honourable.

¹⁴ And come unto thee, bowing down, Have sons of those afflicting thee, And bowed themselves to the soles of thy feet Have all despising thee, And they have cried to thee: 'City of Jehovah, Zion of the Holy One of Israel.'

¹⁵ Instead of thy being forsaken and hated, And none passing through, I have made thee for an excellency age-during, A joy of generation and generation.

¹⁶ And thou hast sucked the milk of nations, Yea, the breast of kings thou suckest, And thou hast known that I, Jehovah, Thy Saviour, and Thy Redeemer, Am the Mighty One of Jacob.

¹⁷ Instead of the brass I bring in gold, And instead of the iron I bring in silver, And instead of the wood brass, And instead of the stone iron, And I have made thy inspection peace, And thy exactors righteousness.

¹⁸ Violence is not heard any more in thy land, Spoiling and destruction in thy borders, And thou hast called 'Salvation' thy walls, And thy gates, 'Praise.'

¹⁹ To thee no more is the sun for a light by day, And for brightness the moon giveth not light to thee, And Jehovah hath become to thee A light age-during, and thy God thy beauty.

²⁰ Thy sun goeth no more in, And thy moon is not removed, For Jehovah becometh to thee a light age-during. And the days of thy mourning have been completed.

²¹ And thy people are all of them righteous, To the age they possess the earth, A branch of My planting, A work of My hands, to be beautified.

²² The little one doth become a chief, And the small one a mighty nation, I, Jehovah, in its own time do hasten it!
