²⁵ and I will turn my hand upon thee, and thoroughly purge away thy dross, and will take away all thy tin;

²⁶ and I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called The city of righteousness, a faithful town.

²⁷ Zion shall be redeemed with justice, and her converts with righteousness.

²⁸ But the destruction of transgressors and sinners shall be together, and they that forsake Jehovah shall be consumed.

²⁵ And I will bring my hand upon thee, and purge thee completely, and I will destroy the rebellious, and will take away from thee all transgressors.

²⁶ And I will establish thy judges as before, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: and afterward thou shalt be called the city of righteousness, the faithful mother-city Sion.

²⁷ For her captives shall be saved with judgment, and with mercy.

²⁸ And the transgressors and the sinners shall be crushed together, and they that forsake the Lord shall be utterly consumed.

²⁵ I will raise my fist to strike you. I will punish you severely MET, as though MET you were silver and I needed to heat you very greatly to melt you and get rid of the impurities.

²⁶ After that happens, I will give you good judges like you had previously; you will have wise counselors like you had long ago. Then people will call your city ‘a city where people act righteously,’ a city where people are loyal to me.' ”

²⁷ Because the people of Jerusalem will do what is fair/just, their city will be restored; those who repent will be saved because of their acting righteously.

²⁸ But rebels and sinners will be crushed by Yahweh, and those who forsake him will disappear.

²⁸ But a common destruction will overtake sinners and evil-doers together, and those who have gone away from the Lord will be cut off.

²⁶ And I will restore thy judges as they were before, and thy counsellors as of old. After this thou shalt be called the city of the just, a faithful city.

²⁷ Sion shall be redeemed in judgment, and they shall bring her back in justice.

²⁸ And he shall destroy the wicked, and the sinners together: and they that have forsaken the Lord, shall be consumed.

²⁵ I will turn against you. I will refine you in a furnace, removing all impurities.

²⁶ I will give you good leaders as you used to have before, wise counselors as you had in the beginning. After that you will once again be called the City of Integrity, the Faithful City.

²⁷ Zion will be rescued by justice, those who repent by doing right.

²⁸ But rebels and sinners will be destroyed together, and those who abandon the Lord will die.

²⁵ Then I will turne mine hand vpon thee, and burne out thy drosse, till it be pure, and take away all thy tinne.

²⁶ And I will restore thy iudges as at the first, and thy counsellers as at the beginning: afterward shalt thou be called a citie of righteousnes, and a faithfull citie.

²⁷ Zion shall be redeemed in iudgement, and they that returne in her, in iustice.

²⁸ And the destruction of the transgressers and of the sinners shalbe together: and they that forsake the Lord, shalbe consumed.

²⁷ Zion shall be again-bought in doom, and they shall bring it again into rightfulness or rightwiseness;

²⁸ and God shall all-break the cursed men and the sinners together, and they that forsake the Lord, shall be wasted.

²⁵ And I shall turn mine hand to thee, and I shall seethe out thy filth to the clean, and I shall do away all thy tin. (And I shall turn my hand to thee, and I shall boil out thy filth, until thou be cleansed, and I shall do away all of thine that be worthless.)

²⁶ And I shall restore thy judges, as they were before, and thy counsellors, as in eld time. After these things thou shalt be called the city of the rightful, a faithful city, (or And after these things thou shalt be called the city of the righteous, yea, a faithful city).

²⁷ Zion shall be again-bought in doom, and they shall bring it again into rightfulness; (Zion shall be redeemed in justice, and they shall bring it back to righteousness;)

²⁸ and God shall all-break the cursed men and the sinners together, and they that forsake the Lord, shall be wasted, (or and they who desert the Lord, shall be destroyed).

²⁵ And I turn back My hand upon thee, And I refine as purity thy dross, And I turn aside all thy tin,

²⁶ And I give back thy judges as at the first, And thy counsellors as in the beginning, After this thou art called, 'A city of righteousness — a faithful city.'

²⁷ Zion in judgment is redeemed, And her captivity in righteousness.

²⁸ And the destruction of transgressors and sinners is together, And those forsaking Jehovah are consumed.
