²⁹ they are gone over the pass; they have taken up their lodging at Geba; Ramah trembleth; Gibeah of Saul is fled.

³⁰ Cry aloud with thy voice, O daughter of Gallim! hearken, O Laishah! O thou poor Anathoth!

³¹ Madmenah is a fugitive; the inhabitants of Gebim flee for safety.

³² This very day shall he halt at Nob: he shaketh his hand at the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.

³³ Behold, the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, will lop the boughs with terror: and the high of stature shall be hewn down, and the lofty shall be brought low.

²⁹ And he shall pass by the valley, and shall arrive at Angai: fear shall seize upon Rama, the city of Saul.

³⁰ The daughter of Gallim shall flee; Laisa shall hear; one shall hear in Anathoth.

³¹ Madebena also is amazed, and the inhabitants of Gibbir.

³² Exhort ye them to-day to remain in the way: exhort ye beckoning with the hand the mountain, the daughter of Sion, even ye hills that are in Jerusalem.

³³ Behold, the Lord, the Lord of hosts, will mightily confound the glorious ones; and the haughty in pride shall be crushed, and the lofty shall be brought low:

²⁹ They are gone over the passage: they have taken up their lodging at Geba; Ramah is afraid; Gibeah of Saul is fled.

³⁰ Lift up thy voice, O daughter of Gallim: cause it to be heard unto Laish, O poor Anathoth.

³¹ Madmenah is removed; the inhabitants of Gebim gather themselves to flee.

²⁹ They will cross through a mountain pass and set up their tents at Geba town. People in Ramah town will tremble because of being afraid. The people of Gibeah town, where King Saul was born, will all run away.

³⁰ You people of Gallim town will cry out for help. You will shout to the people of Laish city near Jerusalem to warn them! The people of Anathoth town will suffer a lot.

³¹ The people of Madmenah town north of Jerusalem will all be running away, and the people of Gebim town close to Jerusalem will be trying to hide.

³² The soldiers of Assyria will stop at Nob city outside Jerusalem. They will shake their fists as they threaten the people on Zion Hill in Jerusalem.

³³ But listen to this! The Commander of the armies of angels with his great power will destroy MET the mighty army of Assyria. It is as though they are a huge tree MET that he will cut down.

²⁹ And he shall pass by the valley, and shall arrive at Angai: fear shall seize upon Rama, the city of Saul.

³¹ Madmenah has gone; the men of Gebim are putting their goods in a safe place.

³² This very day he is stopping at Nob; he is shaking his hand against the mountain of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.

³³ See, the Lord, the Lord of armies, is cutting off his branches with a great noise, and his strong ones are falling and his high ones are coming down.

²⁹ They are gone through the pass; they make their lodging at Geba: Ramah trembleth, Gibeah of Saul is fled.

³² Still a day of halting at Nob; he shaketh his hand against the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem. ...

³³ Behold the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, shall lop the boughs with violence; and the high ones of stature shall be hewn down, and the haughty shall be brought low;

²⁹ They have passed in haste, Gaba is our lodging: Rama was astonished, Gabaath of Saul fled away.

³⁰ Lift up thy voice, O daughter of Gallim, attend, O Laisa, poor Anathoth.

³¹ Medemena is removed: ye inhabitants of Gabim, take courage.

³² It is yet day enough, to remain in Nobe: he shall shake his hand against the mountain of the daughter of Sion, the hill of Jerusalem.

³³ Behold the sovereign Lord of hosts shall break the earthen vessel with terror, and the tall of stature shall be cut down, and the lofty shall be humbled.

²⁹ They cross the pass, saying, “We'll stay overnight at Geba.” The people of Ramah tremble in fear; the inhabitants of Gibeah of Saul run away.

³⁰ Shout out a warning, people of Gallim! Pay attention, those living in Laishah! You poor people of Anathoth!

³¹ The people of Madmenah, are all running away. The inhabitants of Gebim are looking for somewhere safe.

³² Today the invaders stop at Nob, shaking their fists at the mountain of the Daughter of Zion, at the hill of Jerusalem.

³³ Look how the Lord Almighty is going to chop off the branches with great force. The tall trees will be cut down, the proud trees will be brought crashing down.

²⁹ They haue gone ouer the foorde: they lodged in the lodging at Geba: Ramah is afraide: Gibeah of Saul is fled away.

³⁰ Lift vp thy voyce, O daughter Gallim, cause Laish to heare, O poore Anathoth.

³¹ Madmenah is remoued: the inhabitants of Gebim haue gathered themselues together.

³² Yet there is a time that he will stay at Nob: he shall lift vp his hand towarde the mount of the daughter Zion, the hill of Ierusalem.

³³ Beholde, the Lord God of hostes shall cut off the bough with feare, and they of high stature shalbe cut off, and the hie shalbe humbled.

²⁹ They are gone over the pass; they have taken up their lodging at Geba; Ramah trembleth; Gibeath-shaul is fled.

³⁰ Cry thou with a shrill voice, O daughter of Gallim! Hearken, O Laish! O thou poor Anathoth!

³¹ Madmenah is in mad flight; the inhabitants of Gebim flee to cover.

²⁹ And he shall pass by the valley, and shall arrive at Aiath: fear shall seize upon Ramah, the city of Saul.

³⁰ The daughter of Gallim shall flee; Laishah shall hear; one shall hear in Anathoth.

²⁹ They passed swiftly, Geba is our seat, Ramah was astonied (or Ramah was astonished), Gibeah of Saul (hath) fled.

³⁰ Thou daughter of Gallim, wail with thy voice; thou Laish, perceive (it), thou poor Anathoth.

³¹ Madmenah passed; the dwellers of Gebim fled; be ye comforted. (The people of Madmenah flew; the inhabitants of Gebim fled away; be ye strong.)

³² Yet it is (the) day, that men stand in Nob; he shall drive his hand on the hill of the daughter of Zion, on the little hill of Jerusalem. (Yet this is the day, when people shall stand in Nob; and he shall drive his hand against the hill of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.)

³³ Lo! the Lordly Governor, the Lord of hosts, shall break a pottle in dread (or shall break the boughs of the trees with frightful lightning), and high men of stature shall be cut down. And proud men shall be made low,

²⁹ They have gone over the passage, Geba they have made a lodging place, Trembled hath Rama, Gibeah of Saul fled.

³⁰ Cry aloud with thy voice, daughter of Gallim, Give attention, Laish! answer her, Anathoth.

³¹ Fled away hath Madmenah, The inhabitants of the high places have hardened themselves.

³² Yet to-day in Nob to remain, Wave its hand doth the mount of the daughter of Zion, The hill of Jerusalem.

³³ Lo, the Lord, Jehovah of Hosts, Is lopping a branch with violence, And the high of stature are cut down, And the lofty are become low,
