²⁹ Howbeit from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, wherewith he made Israel to sin, Jehu departed not from after them, to wit, the golden calves that were in Beth-el, and that were in Dan.

³⁰ And Jehovah said unto Jehu, Because thou hast done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes, and hast done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in my heart, thy sons of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.

³¹ But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of Jehovah, the God of Israel, with all his heart: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, wherewith he made Israel to sin.

³² In those days Jehovah began to cut off from Israel: and Hazael smote them in all the borders of Israel;

³³ from the Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and the Manassites, from Aroer, which is by the valley of the Arnon, even Gilead and Bashan.

³⁴ Now the rest of the acts of Jehu, and all that he did, and all his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

³⁵ And Jehu slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria. And Jehoahaz his son reigned in his stead.

³⁶ And the time that Jehu reigned over Israel in Samaria was twenty and eight years.

²⁹ But Jehu did not quit committing the kinds of sins that Jeroboam had committed, sins that led the people of Israel to sin by worshiping the gold statues of calves in Bethel and Dan cities.

³⁰ Then Yahweh said to Jehu, “You have done what pleased me by getting rid of all of Ahab's descendants. So I promise you that your son and grandson and great-grandson and great-great-grandson will all be kings of Israel.”

³¹ But Jehu did not obey all the laws of Yahweh, the God of the Israeli people. He did not stop committing the sins that Jeroboam had committed, sins that led the Israeli people to sin.

³² At that time, Yahweh began to cause the territory controlled by Israel to become smaller. The army of King Hazael of Syria conquered much of the Israeli territory.

³³ He conquered the parts east of the Jordan River, as far south as Aroer town on the Arnon River. That included the Gilead and Bashan regions, where the tribes of Gad, Reuben, and half of the tribe of Manasseh lived.

³⁵ Jehu died EUP, and was buried in Samaria. His son Jehoahaz became the king in place of his father.

³⁶ Jehu had ruled in Samaria as the king of Israel for twenty-eight years.

³² In those days the Lord was angry first with Israel; and Hazael made attacks on all the land of Israel,

³³ East of Jordan, in all the land of Gilead, the Gadites and the Reubenites and the Manassites, from Aroer by the valley of the Arnon, all Gilead and Bashan.

³⁴ Now the rest of the acts of Jehu, and all he did, and his great power, are they not recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Israel?

³⁵ And Jehu went to rest with his fathers, and was put into the earth in Samaria. And Jehoahaz his son became king in his place.

³⁶ And the time of Jehu's rule over Israel in Samaria was twenty-eight years.

²⁹ Only, the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, from them Jehu departed not: from the golden calves that were in Bethel, and that were in Dan.

³⁰ And Jehovah said to Jehu, Because thou hast executed well that which is right in my sight, and hast done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in my heart, thy children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.

³¹ But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the Lord the God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, who had made Israel to sin.

³² In those days the Lord began to he weary of Israel: and Hazael ravaged them in all the coasts of Israel,

³³ From the Jordan eastward, all the land of Galaad, and Gad, and Ruben, and Manasses, from Aroer, which is upon the torrent Amen, and Galaad, and Basan.

³⁴ But the rest of the acts of Jehu, and all that he did, and his strength, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?

³⁵ And Jehu slept with his fathers, and they buried him in Samaria: and Joachaz his son reigned in his stead.

³⁶ And the time that Jehu reigned over Israel, in Samaria, was eight and twenty years.

²⁹ but he did not end the sins that Jeroboam, son of Nebat, had made Israel commit—the worship of the golden calves at Bethel and Dan.

³⁰ The Lord said to Jehu, “Since you have done well, and have carried out what is right in my sight, and have accomplished all that I planned for the house of Ahab, your descendants will sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation.”

³¹ But Jehu was not completely committed to following the law of the Lord, the God of Israel. He did not end the sins that Jeroboam had made Israel commit.

³² At that time the Lord began to reduce the extent of Israel. Hazael defeated the Israelites throughout their territory

³³ east of the Jordan, all the land of Gilead (the region occupied by Gad, Reuben, and Manasseh), and from Aroer through the Arnon Valley up to Gilead and Bashan.

³⁴ The rest of what happened in Jehu's reign, all that he did and what he accomplished, are recorded in the Book of Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

³⁵ Jehu died and was buried in Samaria. His son Jehoahaz succeeded him as king.

³⁶ Jehu reigned over Israel in Samaria for twenty-eight years.

²⁹ But from the sinnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat which made Israel to sinne, Iehu departed not from them, neither from the golden calues that were in Beth-el and that were in Dan.

³⁰ And the Lord sayde vnto Iehu, Because thou hast diligently executed that which was right in mine eyes, and hast done vnto the house of Ahab according to all things that were in mine heart, therefore shall thy sonnes vnto the fourth generation sit on the throne of Israel.

³¹ But Iehu regarded not to walke in the law of the Lord God of Israel with all his heart: for hee departed not from the sinnes of Ieroboam, which made Israel to sinne.

³² In those dayes the Lord began to lothe Israel, and Hazael smote them in all the coastes of Israel,

³³ From Iorden Eastward, euen all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and them that were of Manasseh, from Aroer (which is by the riuer Arnon) and Gilead and Bashan.

³⁴ Concerning the rest of the actes of Iehu, and all that he did, and all his valiant deedes, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

³² In those days Yahweh began to cut off regions from Israel, and Hazael defeated the Israelites at the borders of Israel,

³³ from the Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and the Manassites, from Aroer, which is by the Valley of the Arnon, through Gilead to Bashan.

³⁴ As for the other matters concerning Jehu, and all that he did, and all his power, are they not written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel?

³⁵ Jehu slept with his ancestors, and they buried him in Samaria. Then Jehoahaz his son became king in his place.

³⁶ The time that Jehu reigned over Israel in Samaria was twenty-eight years.

³² In those days Yahweh began to cut away parts of Israel; and Hazael struck them in all the borders of Israel

³³ from the Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and the Manassites, from Aroer, which is by the valley of the Arnon, even Gilead and Bashan.

³⁴ Now the rest of the acts of Jehu, and all that he did, and all his might, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

³⁵ Jehu slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria. Jehoahaz his son reigned in his place.

³⁶ The time that Jehu reigned over Israel in Samaria was twenty-eight years.

²⁹ However, Jehu didn’t depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin—the golden calves that were in Bethel and that were in Dan.

³⁰ The LORD said to Jehu, “Because you have done well in executing that which is right in my eyes, and have done to Ahab’s house according to all that was in my heart, your descendants shall sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation.”

³¹ But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the LORD, the God of Israel, with all his heart. He didn’t depart from the sins of Jeroboam, with which he made Israel to sin.

³³ from Jordan against the east coast, all the land of Gilead, and of Gad, and of Reuben, and of Manasseh, from Aroer, which is on the strand or stream of Arnon, and Gilead, and Bashan.

³⁴ Forsooth the residue of the words of Jehu, and all things that he did, and his strength, whether these be not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?

³⁵ And Jehu slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria; and Jehoahaz, his son, reigned for him.

³⁶ Forsooth the days, in which Jehu reigned upon Israel in Samaria, be eight and twenty years.

²⁹ nevertheless he went not away from the sins of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, that made Israel to do sin, neither he forsook the golden calves, that were in Bethel and in Dan.

³⁰ And Jehovah saith unto Jehu, 'Because that thou hast done well, to do that which is right in Mine eyes — according to all that is in My heart thou hast done to the house of Ahab — the sons of the fourth generation do sit for thee on the throne of Israel.'

³¹ And Jehu hath not taken heed to walk in the law of Jehovah, God of Israel, with all his heart, he hath not turned aside from the sins of Jeroboam, that he caused Israel to sin.

³² In those days hath Jehovah begun to cut off some in Israel, and Hazael smiteth them in all the border of Israel,

³³ from the Jordan, at the sun-rising, the whole land of Gilead, of the Gadite, and the Reubenite, and the Manassahite (from Aroer, that is by the brook Arnon), even Gilead and Bashan.

³⁴ And the rest of the matters of Jehu, and all that he did, and all his might, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?

³⁵ And Jehu lieth with his fathers, and they bury him in Samaria, and reign doth Jehoahaz his son in his stead.

³⁶ And the days that Jehu hath reigned over Israel are twenty and eight years, in Samaria.
