¹⁰ So Hiram gave Solomon timber of cedar and timber of fir according to all his desire.

¹¹ And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat for food to his household, and twenty measures of pure oil: thus gave Solomon to Hiram year by year.

¹² And Jehovah gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him; and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; and they two made a league together.

¹³ And king Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.

¹⁴ And he sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses; a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home: and Adoniram was over the men subject to taskwork.

¹⁵ And Solomon had threescore and ten thousand that bare burdens, and fourscore thousand that were hewers in the mountains;

¹⁶ besides Solomon’s chief officers that were over the work, three thousand and three hundred, who bare rule over the people that wrought in the work.

¹⁰ And Solomon abounded greatly beyond the wisdom of all the ancients, and beyond all the wise men of Egypt.

¹¹ And he was wiser than all other men: and he was wiser than Gæthan the Zarite, and than Ænan, and than Chalcad and Darala the sons of Mal.

¹² And Solomon spoke three thousand proverbs, and his songs were five thousand.

¹³ And he spoke of trees, from the cedar in Libanus even to the hyssop which comes out through the wall: he spoke also of cattle, and of birds, and of reptiles, and of fishes.

¹⁴ And all the nations came to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and ambassadors from all the kings of the earth, as many as heard of his wisdom.

^14a And Solomon took to himself the daughter of Pharao to wife, and brought her into the city of David until he had finished the house of the Lord, and his own house, and the wall of Jerusalem.

^14b Then went up Pharao the king of Egypt, and took Gazer, and burnt it and the Chananite dwelling in Mergab; and Pharao gave them as a dowry to his daughter the wife of Solomon: and Solomon rebuilt Gazer.

¹⁵ And Chiram king of Tyre sent his servants to anoint Solomon in the room of David his father, because Chiram always loved David.

¹⁶ And Solomon sent to Chiram, saying,

¹⁰ So Hiram gave Solomon cedar trees and fir trees according to all his desire.

¹⁵ And Solomon had seventy thousand bearers of burdens, and eighty thousand hewers of stone in the mountain;

¹⁶ besides the rulers that were appointed over the works of Solomon, there were three thousand six hundred masters who wrought in the works.

¹⁰ So Hiram arranged for his workers to supply all the cedar and cypress logs that Solomon wanted.

¹¹ Each year Solomon gave Hiram 100,000 bushels of wheat and 110,000 gallons of pure olive oil to feed the people who worked in his palace.

¹² Yahweh enabled Solomon to be wise, just like he had promised. Solomon and Hiram made a treaty/agreement that there would be peace between their two governments/countries.

¹³ King Solomon forced 30,000 men from all over Israel to become his workers.

¹⁴ Adoniram was their boss. Solomon divided the men into three groups. Each month 10,000 of them went to Lebanon and worked for a month there, and then they came back home for two months.

¹⁵ Solomon also forced 80,000 men to cut stones in the hilly area and 70,000 men to haul the stones to Jerusalem.

¹⁶ And he also assigned 3,600 men to supervise their work.

¹⁰ So Chiram gave to Solomon cedars, and fir trees, and all his desire.

¹¹ And Solomon gave to Chiram twenty thousand measures of wheat as food for his house, and twenty thousand baths of beaten oil thus Solomon gave to Chiram yearly.

¹³ Then King Solomon got together men for the forced work through all Israel, thirty thousand men in number;

¹⁴ And sent them to Lebanon in bands of ten thousand every month: for a month they were working in Lebanon and for two months in their country, and Adoniram was in control of them.

¹⁵ Then he had seventy thousand for the work of transport, and eighty thousand stone-cutters in the mountains;

¹⁶ In addition to the chiefs of the responsible men put by Solomon to oversee the work, three thousand and three hundred in authority over the workmen.

¹⁰ So Hiram gave Solomon cedar-trees and cypress-trees according to all his desire.

¹¹ And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat as food for his household, and twenty measures of beaten oil: thus gave Solomon to Hiram year by year.

¹³ And king Solomon chose workmen cut of all Israel, and the levy was of thirty thousand men.

¹⁴ And he sent them to Libanus, ten thousand every month by turns, so that two months they were at home: and Adoniram was over this levy.

¹⁵ And Solomon had seventy thousand to carry burdens, and eighty thousand to hew stones in the mountain:

¹⁶ Besides the overseers who were over every work, in number three thousand, and three hundred that ruled over the people, and them that did the work.

¹⁰ So Hiram provided Solomon with as much cedar and cypress timber that he wanted,

¹¹ Solomon gave Hiram 20,000 cors of wheat for food and 20,000 cors of olive oil for his household. Solomon provided this to Hiram every year.

¹² The Lord gave Solomon wisdom just as he had promised him. Hiram and Solomon had a good relationship and they made a peace treaty with each other.

¹³ King Solomon drafted a labor force of 30,000 from all of Israel.

¹⁴ He sent them in shifts of 10,000 each month to Lebanon, so that they were one month in Lebanon and two months at home, Adoniram was in charge of the labor force.

¹⁵ Solomon had 70,000 porters and 80,000 stonecutters in the hill country,

¹⁶ as well as 3,300 foremen he placed in charge of the workers.

¹⁰ So Hiram gaue Salomon cedar trees and firre trees, euen his full desire.

¹¹ And Salomon gaue Hiram twentie thousand measures of wheate for foode to his householde, and twentie measures of beaten oyle. Thus much gaue Salomon to Hiram yere by yere.

¹² And the Lord gaue Salomon wisedome as he promised him. And there was peace betweene Hiram and Salomon, and they two made a couenant.

¹³ And King Salomon raised a summe out of all Israel, and the summe was thirtie thousand men:

¹⁴ Whome he sent to Lebanon, ten thousand a moneth by course: they were a moneth in Lebanon, and two moneths at home. And Adoniram was ouer the summe.

¹⁵ And Salomon had seuentie thousand that bare burdens, and fourescore thousand masons in the mountaine,

¹⁶ Besides the princes, whome Salomon appoynted ouer the worke, euen three thousande and three hundreth, which ruled the people that wrought in the worke.

¹² Also the Lord gave wisdom to Solomon, as he spake to him; and peace was betwixt Hiram and Solomon, and both they smote together bond of peace.

¹³ And king Solomon chose work-men out of all Israel; and the sum was thirty thousand of men.

¹⁴ And Solomon sent them into the Lebanon, ten thousand by each month by whiles, so that in two months by whiles they were in their houses; and Adoniram was on such a sum.

¹⁵ And so seventy thousand of them, that bare burdens, were to Solomon, and fourscore thousand of masons in the hills,

¹⁶ without the sovereigns, that were masters of all the works, by the number of three thousand and three hundred, commanding to the people, and to them that made work.

¹⁰ And so Hiram gave to Solomon cedar trees, and box trees, by all his will; (And so Hiram gave Solomon all the cedar, and fir, or pine, trees, that he needed, or wanted;)

¹¹ and Solomon gave to Hiram twenty thousand cors of wheat, into meat to his house, and twenty cors of purest oil; Solomon gave these things to Hiram by all years. (and Solomon gave to Hiram twenty thousand cors of wheat, for food for his household, and twenty cors of purest oil; Solomon gave these things to Hiram annually.)

¹² Also the Lord gave wisdom to Solomon, as he spake to him; and peace was betwixt Hiram and Solomon, and both they smote together (a) bond of peace. (And the Lord gave wisdom to Solomon, as he said he would; and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and they struck a covenant together.)

¹³ And king Solomon chose workmen (out) of all Israel; and the sum was thirty thousand of men.

¹⁴ And Solomon sent them into the Lebanon, ten thousand by each month by whiles, so that in two months by whiles they were in their houses; and Adoniram was on such a sum. (And Solomon sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand each month by turn, and then for two months by turn, they went back to their own houses; and Adoniram was in charge of them all.)

¹⁵ And so seventy thousand of them, that bare burdens, were to Solomon, and fourscore thousand of masons in the hill(s), (And so working for Solomon were seventy thousand men who carried loads, and fourscore thousand stonemasons in the hills,)

¹⁶ without the sovereigns, that were masters of all the works, by the number of three thousand and three hundred, commanding to the people, and to them that made work. (besides the sovereigns, or the foremen, who were masters over all the work, three thousand and three hundred in number, commanding the people who did the work.)

¹⁰ And Hiram is giving to Solomon cedar-trees, and fir-trees, all his desire,

¹¹ and Solomon hath given to Hiram twenty thousand cors of wheat, food for his house, and twenty cors of beaten oil; thus doth Solomon give to Hiram year by year.

¹² And Jehovah hath given wisdom to Solomon as He spake to him, and there is peace between Hiram and Solomon, and they make a covenant both of them.

¹³ And king Solomon lifteth up a tribute out of all Israel, and the tribute is thirty thousand men,

¹⁴ and he sendeth them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month, by changes, a month they are in Lebanon, two months in their own house; and Adoniram is over the tribute.

¹⁵ And king Solomon hath seventy thousand bearing burdens, and eighty thousand hewing in the mountain,

¹⁶ apart from the heads of the officers of Solomon, who are over the work, three thousand and three hundred, those ruling over the people who are working in the business.
