²⁷ And those officers provided victuals for king Solomon, and for all that came unto king Solomon’s table, every man in his month; they let nothing be lacking.

²⁸ Barley also and straw for the horses and swift steeds brought they unto the place where the officers were, every man according to his charge.

²⁹ And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea-shore.

And Solomon took to himself the daughter of Pharao to wife, and brought her into the city of David until he had finished the house of the Lord, and his own house, and the wall of Jerusalem. Then went up Pharao the king of Egypt, and took Gazer, and burnt it and the Chananite dwelling in Mergab; and Pharao gave them as a dowry to his daughter the wife of Solomon: and Solomon rebuilt Gazer.

²⁷ His twelve governors supplied the food that King Solomon needed for himself and for all those who ate in the palace. Each governor supplied food for one month each year. They provided everything LIT that Solomon required.

²⁸ They also brought stalks of barley and wheat for the fast horses that pulled the chariots and for the other work horses. They brought it to the places where the horses were kept.

²⁹ God enabled Solomon to be extremely wise and to have great insight/understanding. He understood about more things than the number of grains of sand on the seashore HYP.

³⁰ He was wiser than all the wise men in Arabia and Mesopotamia and all the wise men in Egypt.

³¹ Ethan from Ezrah and Heman and Calcol and Darda and the sons of Mahol were considered to be very wise, but Solomon was wiser than all of them. People in all the nearby countries heard about Solomon.

³² He composed/wrote 3,000 ◄proverbs/wise sayings► and more than 1,000 songs.

³³ He talked about various kinds of plants, from the huge cedar trees in Lebanon to the tiny hyssop plants that grow in cracks in walls. He also talked about wild animals and birds and reptiles and fish.

³⁴ People came from all over the world to hear the wise things that Solomon said. Many kings sent men to listen to him and then return and tell them what Solomon said.

²⁹ And God gave Solomon a great store of wisdom and good sense, and a mind of wide range, as wide as the sand by the seaside.

³⁰ And Solomon's wisdom was greater than the wisdom of all the people of the East and all the wisdom of Egypt.

³¹ For he was wiser than all men, even than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman and Calcol and Darda, the sons of Mahol; and he had a great name among all the nations round about.

³² He was the maker of three thousand wise sayings, and of songs to the number of a thousand and five.

³³ He made sayings about all plants, from the cedar in Lebanon to the hyssop hanging on the wall; and about all beasts and birds and fishes and the small things of the earth.

³⁴ People came from every nation to give ear to the wisdom of Solomon, from all the kings of the earth who had word of his wisdom.

²⁸ And the barley, and the straw for the horses and coursers, they brought to the place where the superintendents were, every man according to his charge.

²⁹ And God gave Solomon wisdom and very great understanding and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea-shore.

³⁰ And Solomon's wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the sons of the east, and all the wisdom of Egypt.

³² Solomon also spoke three thousand parables: and his poems were a thousand and five.

³³ And he treated about trees from the cedar that is in Libanus, unto the hyssop that cometh out of the wall: and he discoursed of beasts, and of fowls, and of creeping things, and of fishes.

³⁴ And they came from all nations to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and from all the kings of the earth, who heard of his wisdom.

²⁷ Every month the area governors provided in turn food for King Solomon and all who ate at his table. They made sure that nothing was missing.

²⁸ They also delivered barley and straw where they were needed for the chariot horses and cart-horses.

²⁹ God gave to Solomon wisdom, very great discernment, and understanding as extensive as the sand on the seashore.

³⁰ Solomon's wisdom was greater than that of all the Eastern wise men, greater than all of Egypt's wisdom.

²⁹ Also God gave to Solomon wisdom, and prudence full much, and largeness of heart, as the sand that is in the brink of the sea.

³⁰ And the wisdom of Solomon passed the wisdom of all the east men, and Egyptians;

³¹ and he was wiser than all men; he was wiser than Ethan the Ezrahite, and than Heman, and than Chalcol, and than Darda, the sons of Mahol; and he was named among all folks by compass.

³⁴ And they came from all peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and from all the kings of the earth, that heard his wisdom.

²⁷ and the foresaid prefects/the chief masters of the king nourished those horses. But also with great busyness they gave the necessaries to the board of king Solomon, in their time, (or But also with great diligence they gave the necessities for King Solomon’s table, each in his turn);

²⁸ also they brought barley, and forage of horses and of work beasts, into the place where the king was, after it was ordained to them. (they also brought barley, and forage, for the horses and the work beasts, to the place where the king was, as it was ordained to them.)

²⁹ Also God gave to Solomon wisdom, and prudence full much (or and a great deal of prudence), and largeness of heart, as the sand that is in the brink of the sea.

³⁰ And the wisdom of Solomon passed the wisdom of all the east men, and Egyptians; (And Solomon’s wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the men of the East, and of all the Egyptians;)

³¹ and he was wiser than all men; he was wiser than Ethan (the) Ezrahite, and than Heman, and than Chalcol, and than Darda, the sons of Mahol; and he was named among all folks by compass.

³² And Solomon spake three thousand parables, and his songs were a thousand and five;

³³ and he disputed of trees, from a cedar which is in Lebanon, till to the hyssop that goeth out of the wall; he disputed of work beasts, and (of) birds, and of creeping beasts, and of fishes.

³⁴ And they came from all peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and from all the kings of the earth, that heard his wisdom (or who heard of his wisdom).

²⁷ And these officers have sustained king Solomon and every one drawing near unto the table of king Solomon, each in his month; they let nothing be lacking.

²⁸ And the barley and the straw, for horses and for dromedaries, they bring in unto the place where they are, each according to his ordinance.

²⁹ And God giveth wisdom to Solomon, and understanding, very much, and breadth of heart, as the sand that is on the edge of the sea;

³⁰ and the wisdom of Solomon is greater than the wisdom of any of the sons of the east, and than all the wisdom of Egypt;

³¹ and he is wiser than all men, than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, sons of Mahol, and his name is in all the nations round about.

³² And he speaketh three thousand similes, and his songs are five, and the chief one;

³³ and he speaketh concerning the trees, from the cedar that is in Lebanon, even unto the hyssop that is coming out in the wall, and he speaketh concerning the cattle, and concerning the fowl, and concerning the creeping things, and concerning the fishes,

³⁴ and there come out of all the peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth who have heard of his wisdom.
