1 Kings 17:20-23 in English

²⁰ And he cried unto Jehovah, and said, O Jehovah my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?

²¹ And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto Jehovah, and said, O Jehovah my God, I pray thee, let this child’s soul come into him again.

²² And Jehovah hearkened unto the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.

²³ And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother; and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.

²⁰ And Eliu cried aloud, and said, Alas, O Lord, the witness of the widow with whom I sojourn, thou hast wrought evil for her in slaying her son.

²¹ And he breathed on the child thrice, and called on the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, let, I pray thee, the soul of this child return to him.

²² And it was so, and the child cried out,

²³ and he brought him down from the upper chamber into the house, and gave him to his mother; and Eliu said, See, thy son lives.

²² And the LORD hearkened unto the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.

²³ And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.

²⁰ Then Elijah cried out to Yahweh, “O Yahweh my God, this widow has kindly allowed me to stay in her home. So why have you brought this tragedy to her and caused her son to die?” RHQ

²¹ Then Elijah stretched himself on top of the boy's body and called out to Yahweh saying, “Yahweh my God, please allow this boy to become alive again!” He did this three times.

²² Yahweh heard what Elijah prayed, and he caused the boy to become alive again DOU.

²³ Elijah carried the boy down the steps and gave him to his mother. He said, “Look, your son is alive!”

²⁰ And Eliu cried aloud, and said, Alas, O Lord, the witness of the widow with whom I sojourn, you have wrought evil for her in slaying her son.

²¹ And he breathed on the child thrice, and called on the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, let, I pray you, the soul of this child return to him.

²² And it was so, and the child cried out,

²³ Elijah took the child and brought him down out of the room into the house, and delivered him to his mother; and Elijah said, “Behold, your son lives.”

²⁰ And crying to the Lord he said, O Lord my God, have you sent evil even on the widow whose guest I am, by causing her son's death?

²¹ And stretching herself out on the child three times, he made his prayer to the Lord, saying, O Lord my God, be pleased to let this child's life come back to him again.

²² And the Lord gave ear to the voice of Elijah, and the child's spirit came into him again, and he came back to life.

²³ And Elijah took the child down from his room into the house and gave him to his mother and said to her, See, your son is living.

²⁰ And he cried to Jehovah and said, Jehovah, my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?

²¹ And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried to Jehovah and said, Jehovah, my God, I pray thee, let this child's soul come into him again!

²² And Jehovah heard the voice of Elijah, and the soul of the child came into him again, and he lived.

²³ And Elijah took the child, and brought him down from the upper chamber into the house, and delivered him to his mother; and Elijah said, See, thy son lives.

²⁰ And he cried to the Lord, and said: O Lord my God, hast thou afflicted also the widow, with whom I am after a so maintained, so as to kill her son?

²¹ And he stretched, and measured himself upon the child three times, and cried to the Lord, and said: O Lord my God, let the soul of this child, I beseech thee, return into his body.

²² And the Lord heard the voice of Elias: and the soul of the child returned into him, and he revived.

²³ And Elias took the child, and brought him down from the upper chamber to the house below, and delivered him to his mother, and said to her: Behold thy son liveth.

²⁰ Then he cried out to the Lord, saying, “Lord my God, why have you allowed this to happen to this widow who has opened her home to me, this terrible tragedy of causing her son to die?”

²¹ He stretched himself out on the boy three times, and cried out to the Lord, “Lord my God, please let this boy's life return to him!”

²² The Lord responded to Elijah's cry. The boy's life returned to him, and he lived!

²³ Elijah took the boy and brought him down from the room into the house, and gave him to his mother. “See, your son is alive,” Elijah told her.

²⁰ Then he called vnto the Lord, and sayde, O Lord my God, hast thou punished also this widowe, with whome I soiourne, by killing her sonne?

²¹ And he stretched himselfe vpon the childe three times, and called vnto the Lord, and saide, O Lord my God, I pray thee, let this childes soule come into him againe.

²² Then the Lord heard the voyce of Eliiah, and the soule of the child came into him againe, and he reuiued.

²³ And Eliiah tooke the childe, and brought him downe out of the chamber into the house, and deliuered him vnto his mother, and Eliiah sayd, Behold, thy sonne liueth.

²⁰ And he cried unto the LORD, and said: 'O LORD my God, hast Thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?'

²¹ And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the LORD, and said: 'O LORD my God, I pray thee, let this child's soul come back into him.'

²² And the LORD hearkened unto the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came back into him, and he revived.

²³ And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the upper chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother; and Elijah said: 'See, thy son liveth.'

²⁰ And he cried unto the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?

²³ And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the upper chamber into the house, and gave him unto his mother; and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.

²⁰ And Elijah cried aloud, and said, Alas, O Lord, the witness of the widow with whom I sojourn, thou hast wrought evil for her in slaying her son.

²¹ And he breathed on the child thrice, and called on the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, let, I pray thee, the soul of this child return to him.

²² And it was so, and the child cried out,

²³ and he brought him down from the upper chamber into the house, and gave him to his mother; and Elijah said, See, thy son lives.

²⁰ He cried to Yahweh and said, “Yahweh my God, have you also brought disaster on the widow with whom I am staying, by killing her son?”

²¹ Then Elijah stretched himself on the child three times; he cried out to Yahweh and said, “Yahweh my God, I beg you, please let this child's life return to him.”

²² Yahweh listened to the voice of Elijah; the life of the child returned to him, and he revived.

²³ Elijah took the child and brought him out of his room down into the house; he handed the boy to his mother and said, “See, your son is alive.”

²⁰ He cried to Yahweh and said, “Yahweh my God, have you also brought evil on the widow with whom I am staying, by killing her son?”

²¹ He stretched himself on the child three times, and cried to Yahweh and said, “Yahweh my God, please let this child’s soul come into him again.”

²² Yahweh listened to the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.

²³ Elijah took the child and brought him down out of the room into the house, and delivered him to his mother; and Elijah said, “Behold, your son lives.”

²³ Elijah took the child and brought him down out of the room into the house, and delivered him to his mother; and Elijah said, “Behold, your son lives.”

²⁰ And he cried to the Lord, and said, My Lord God, whether thou hast tormented also the widow, with whom I am sustained in all manner, that thou killedest her son?

²¹ He spread abroad himself, and was meted or measured upon the child by three times; and he cried to the Lord, and said, My Lord God, I beseech, the soul of this child turn again into the entrails of him.

²² The Lord heard the voice of Elijah, and the soul of the child turned again within him, and he lived again.

²³ And Elijah took the child, and put him down of the solar into the lower house, and betook him to his mother; and he said to her, Lo! thy son liveth.

²⁰ And he cried to the Lord, and said, My Lord God, whether thou hast tormented also the widow (or hast thou tormented this widow), with whom I am sustained in all manner, (so) that thou killedest her son?

²¹ He spread abroad himself, and was meted upon the child by three times; and he cried to the Lord, and said, My Lord God, I beseech, the soul of this child turn again into the entrails of him. (Then he stretched himself over, or above, the child three times; and he cried to the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, I beseech thee, let the soul of this child return to his entrails.)

²² The Lord heard the voice of Elijah, and the soul of the child turned again within him, and he lived again.

²³ And Elijah took the child, and put him down of the solar into the lower house (or and took him down from the solarium to the lower part of the house), and betook him to his mother; and he said to her, Lo! thy son liveth.

²⁰ and crieth unto Jehovah, and saith, 'Jehovah my God, also on the widow with whom I am sojourning hast Thou done evil — to put her son to death?'

²¹ And he stretcheth himself out on the lad three times, and calleth unto Jehovah, and saith, 'O Jehovah my God, let turn back, I pray Thee, the soul of this lad into his midst;'

²² and Jehovah hearkeneth to the voice of Elijah, and the soul of the lad turneth back into his midst, and he liveth.

²³ And Elijah taketh the lad, and bringeth him down from the upper chamber of the house, and giveth him to his mother, and Elijah saith, 'See, thy son liveth!'
