²⁵ And Omri did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and dealt wickedly above all that were before him.

²⁶ For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sins wherewith he made Israel to sin, to provoke Jehovah, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.

²⁷ Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and his might that he showed, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

²⁸ So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria; and Ahab his son reigned in his stead.

²⁹ And in the thirty and eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty and two years.

³⁰ And Ahab the son of Omri did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah above all that were before him.

^28a And in the eleventh year of Ambri Josaphat the son of Asa reigns, being thirty-five years old in the beginning of his reign, and he reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Gazuba, daughter of Seli.

^28b And he walked in the way of Asa his father, and turned not from it, even from doing right in the eyes of the Lord: only they removed not any of the high places; they sacrificed and burnt incense on the high places.

^28c Now the engagements which Josaphat made with the king of Israel, and all his mighty deeds which he performed, and the enemies whom he fought against, behold, are not these written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Juda?

^28d and the remains of the prostitution which they practised in the days of Asa his father, he removed out of the land:

^28e and there was no king in Syria, but a deputy.

^28f And king Josaphat made a ship at Tharsis to go to Sophir for gold; but it went not, for the ship was broken at Gasion Gaber.

^28g Then the king of Israel said to Josaphat, I will send forth thy servants and my servants in the ship: but Josaphat would not.

^28h And Josaphat slept with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Joram his son reigned in his stead.

²⁹ In the second year of Josaphat king of Juda, Achaab son of Ambri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.

²⁵ But Omri did many things that Yahweh considered to be evil. He did more evil deeds than any of the kings who ruled Israel before he did.

²⁶ When Jeroboam was previously the king, he had led the Israeli people to sin, and Omri committed the same kind of sins that Jeroboam did. The Israeli people caused Yahweh, the God the Israeli people had worshiped, to become very angry, because they worshiped worthless idols.

²⁷ Everything that Omri did, and the record of the victories that his army won, are written in the scroll called ❛The History of the Kings of Israel❜.

²⁸ After Omri died, he was buried in Samaria, and his son Ahab became king.

²⁹ Ahab became king of Israel when Asa had ruled Judah for almost 38 years. Ahab ruled in Samaria city for 22 years.

³⁰ Ahab did many things that Yahweh considered to be evil. He did more evil things than any of the kings who ruled Israel before he did.

³¹ He committed the same kind of sins that Jeroboam did, but he did things that were worse than the things that Jeroboam did. He married a woman named Jezebel, the daughter of Ethbaal, the king of Sidon city. Then Ahab started to worship Baal, the god that the Canaan people-group worshiped.

³² He built a temple in Samaria in order that the Israeli people could worship Baal there, and he put an altar there for making sacrifices to Baal.

²⁸ So Omri went to rest with his fathers, and was put into the earth in Samaria; and Ahab his son became king in his place.

²⁹ In the thirty-eighth year that Asa was king of Judah, Ahab, the son of Omri, became king over Israel; and Ahab was king in Samaria for twenty-two years.

³⁰ And Ahab, the son of Omri, did evil in the eyes of the Lord, even worse than all who went before him.

³¹ And as if copying the evil ways of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, was a small thing for him, he took as his wife Jezebel, daughter of Ethbaal, king of Zidon, and became a servant and worshipper of Baal.

³² And he put up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal which he had made in Samaria.

²⁵ And Omri wrought evil in the sight of Jehovah, and did worse than all that were before him.

²⁶ And he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sins wherewith he made Israel to sin, provoking Jehovah the God of Israel to anger with their vanities.

²⁹ Now Achab the son of Amri reigned over Israel in the eight and thirtieth year of Asa king of Juda. And Achab the son of Amri reigned over Israel in Samaria two and twenty years.

³⁰ And Achab the son of Amri did evil in the sight of the Lord above all that were before him.

³¹ Nor was it enough for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nabat: but he also took to wife Jezabel daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians. And he went, and served Baal, and adored him.

³² And he set up an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal, which he had built in Samaria,

²⁵ Omri did what was evil in the Lord's sight—in fact he did more evil than those who lived before him.

²⁶ For he followed all the ways of Jeroboam, son of Nebat, and in his sins which he made Israel commit, worshiping their useless idols which angered the Lord, the God of Israel.

²⁷ The rest of what happened in Omri's reign, what he did, and his achievements are recorded in the Book of Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

²⁸ Omri died and was buried in Samaria. His son Ahab succeeded him as king.

²⁹ Ahab, son of Omri, became king of Israel in the thirty-eighth year of the reign of King Asa of Judah. He reigned in Samaria for twenty-two years.

³⁰ Ahab, son of Omri, did evil in the Lord's sight, more than those who lived before him.

³¹ He didn't see anything to worry about in following the sins of Jeroboam, son of Nebat, and he even married Jezebel, daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Sidonians, and started to serve and worship Baal.

³² Ahab made an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal that he had built in Samaria.

²⁵ But Omri did euil in the eyes of the Lord, and did worse then all that were before him.

²⁶ For he walked in all the way of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, and in his sinnes wherewith he made Israel to sinne in prouoking the Lord God of Israel with their vanities.

²⁸ And Omri slept with his fathers, and was buryed in Samaria: and Ahab his sonne reigned in his stead.

^28h And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.

²⁹ In the second year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Ahab son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.

³⁰ And Ahab did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, and did more wickedly than all that were before him.

³¹ And it was not enough for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, but he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians; and he went and served Baal, and worshiped him.

³² And he set up an altar to Baal in the house of his abominations, which he built in Samaria.

²⁵ Omri did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh and acted more wickedly than all who had been before him.

²⁶ For he walked in all the ways of Jeroboam son of Nebat and in his sins by which he led Israel to sin, to provoke Yahweh, the God of Israel, to be angry with their worthless idols.

²⁷ As for the other matters concerning Omri which he did, and the might that he showed, are they not written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel?

²⁸ So Omri slept with his ancestors and was buried in Samaria and Ahab his son became king in his place.

²⁹ In the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, Ahab son of Omri began to reign over Israel. Ahab son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.

³⁰ Ahab son of Omri did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh, more than all those who were before him.

³¹ It was to Ahab a trivial thing to walk in the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, so he took as his wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Sidonians; he went and worshiped Baal and bowed down to him.

³² He built an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.

³² And he set up an altar to Baal in the temple of Baal, which he had builded in Samaria,

(and it was not sufficient for him that he merely went in the sins of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, but moreover he wedded Jezebel for a wife, Ethbaal’s daughter, the king of the Sidonians; and he went and served Baal, and worshipped him.)

²⁵ And Omri doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, and doth evil above all who are before him,

²⁶ and walketh in all the way of Jeroboam son of Nebat, and in his sin that he caused Israel to sin, to provoke Jehovah, God of Israel, with their vanities.
